The father of the five-year-old boy, as well as another man, have now been charged in connection with the death of the child.

Charged with negligence is the boy's father, Oliver Spencer, while charged with murder is 34-year-old Jermaine Gushman.

Little Evan Spencer of Frankfield, Clarendon, was reportedly killed as he slept on the night of May 2.

Police reports are that the father went home about 3 a.m. and saw a man running from a room his son was staying in at the back of the building. It is alleged that when the father went inside the room, he found his son's body lying in *lo** with his throat cut. An alarm was made and the police alerted.

Little Evan's murder sent shock waves throughout Frankfield, with many expressing disgust with the number of murders involving minors being committed in Jamaica.
