A dispute between members of two families in Muir House district, Brown's Town, St Ann, on Sunday night has left one person dead and two arrested.

The dead man has been identified as Clinton Lawrence, a 32-year-old farmer, while arrested for murder are two cousins; one 17, the other 20 years old.Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports from the Alexandria police are that about 7:30 p.m. Lawrence and members of the other family were involved in a dispute when the teen and the other man intervened.They reportedly used a machete to chop Lawrence several times. He was taken to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where he died.

Investigators reported that both families have had a long-standing dispute.
