BABIES LEFT AT MAN'S DOOR - Cops charge mother

A mother accused of abandoning her three-month-old pair of twins at the house steps of a man she claims to be their father, has been charged with child abandonment.

The 26-year-old woman is from Newland in Portmore, St Catherine.

Reports from the Old Harbour police are that on Saturday, March 13, the woman took the babies to an address in Old Harbour, St Catherine.

After asking for the owner of the house and was told he was elsewhere, she placed the twins on the step and left.

The police was called and the children were taken to a home and placed under the care of the state.

Investigations by the St Catherine South police resulted in her been summoned to appear in the Old Harbour Resident Magistrate's Court on March 26.
