Footage Of Incident Inside

WJHG.Com/News: The State Attorney's office in Panama City is dropping battery charges against a well-known hip-hop rap recording artist.

It happened March 12th last year in the parking lot of the Boardwalk Beach Resort on Thomas Drive when a fight broke out following a Spring Break concert.

Involved in the brawl was a group of men and a local teenager named Damion Johns. The man in the middle of the fray, with the v-neck t-shirt and dreadlocks, is 34-year-old Joseph G. Jones, better known as the rap artist "Jim Jones".

Panama City Beach police took a report on the incident, turned it over to the State Attorney's office, which initially filed simply battery charges against Jones.

In April, local attorney Hoot Crawford pled not guilty on Jones behalf.

This week prosecutors said evidence of any battery committed by Jones was insufficient and filed a "no information", which means the charges are dropped.
