Blak Ryno Freed Of Assault Charges; Complainant Drops Case Dancehall.Mobi news update Romaine Anderson, more popularly known as dancehall deejay Blak Ryno, was freed of two assault charges when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court late last week. Ryno had been charged last October with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm, following an altercation with his apartment complexs strata committee chairman over unpaid water bills. He was accused of kicking and beating the complainant.
When the matter was mentioned last week in court, the investigating officer told the Resident Magistrate that the complainant had indicated that he did not want to proceed any further with the case, as he would not be attending court to give evidence because of threats he had received. The Resident Magistrate was reportedly very reluctant to dismiss the charges, stating in court that I am not in agreement with it at all people must feel free to come to court and give their evidence without being fearful. You [Blak Ryno] can go, but not with my blessing.
