Rapper Drake has been hopeful all year that he and Jay-Z could connect in the studio. He told MTV back in June, "Everybody is looking for this one joint with me and Jay, so that needs to happen. My goal at this point is to keep making that organic music. I don't wanna feel pressure now that I have a single and music that's hot." In a recent interview in his hometown, Drizzy revealed how his monumental collaboration with Jay-Z came about. "Light Up," produced by Tone Mason and Noah "40" Shebib, is "phenomenal according to the Canadian emcee. Drake stated that the highly anticipated track is finally finished and will be included on the rapper's debut, Thank Me Later, scheduled to be released in March. "When I heard that beat, the drums that they had come up with, it was like, 'Man, this is a moment,' " he said. " 'This sounds like where I'm at in my life.' So, we took it and 40 did what he does to pieces of music that I see potential in - he took it to the next spot. Jay-Z's on it. The song is phenomenal. It's done now.
