MORGAN COUNTY, Ga. -- The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting on Christmas morning.Neighbors said the victim accidently dropped his gun, causing it to fire a shot that killed him.Channel 2 Action News learned the Rutledge man was showing the loaded weapon to his adult children when he lost his grip.

"This is probably one of the worst days out of the year that something like this could happen. The holidays are already tough enough and then your father dies, it's pretty bad," resident Tim Briscow said.Neighbors don't know whether the gun was a Christmas gift or not.The Morgan County Sheriff's office confirms the victim died from gunshot wounds.
