A LIL SUPM I WROTE FOR ONE OF MY COURSES (COLLEGE ENGLISH 3)
A location which has a calming effect on me
It was my ritual to spend Friday afternoons before the Sabbath basking in the salubrious ambience at Sunset beach. One could only gain access to the beach by two means; by boat or by a five minute trek from the closest road through some areas which prove to be rather difficult to manoeuvre based on the amount of shrubbery. This however proved to be merely a form of motivation to me as it added to the pleasures of loneliness and seeming fusion with nature upon emerging from the shrubs and stepping onto the beach. Ritually I was greeted by the cool and refreshing breeze which lightly slipped off the surface of the ocean and nonchalantly skimmed against my skin; something which never failed at bringing a smile to my face. The fragrance of the cool oceanic breeze immersed my mind in thoughts of paradise. The feel of the gentle golden rays of the setting sun lightly kissing my face emanated a feeling of pure joy radiating from within. The sound of waves gently breaking along the beach played out in a cacophony of sounds much like a classically composed symphony by Beethoven or Mozart. The light blue transparent water was always clear and inviting. The setting sun illuminated the water with indescribable beauty as it passed through it with the ease of a hot knife through butter. The wind was light and quietly whispered a melodious song which spoke in a language of pure beauty which could only be decoded by the heart as it slipped through the leaves of the coconut trees which towered majestically toward the heavens as they formed a uniformed barrier alone other the beach. The other trees along the beach outwardly displayed their age as they were adorned with tattoos of the initials of lovers passed carved in their barks. The sand was a glossy pearl white which was accentuated by the nonchalant manner in which the sun was emitting its rays. On a given Friday reaching the beach early I would abandon my shoes along with my socks and roll away the worries of the week along with the legs of my pants allowing the nerve endings in my feet to be teased by the orgasmic effect of the sand massaging my feet. Sunset beach is my escape, my way of crying to relieve the stress and strains of the week passed. Sunset beach was my slice of the heavenly pie here on earth, my little place to visit to take away the angers of the week and bring me back to the realm of calmness.
