A Seven-year-old boy was burnt to death and his mother injured in a fire believed to be set by arsonist/s at their home at Smith Drive, May Pen, Clarendon, yesterday.
Dead is Michael Campbell while injured is his 26-year-old mother.
Information gleaned by the CCN is that about 1:15 a.m., the mother and her son were at home when she was awakened after hearing persons in her yard. She went to investigate and saw that the house was on fire.
The police and the fire brigade were alerted and one unit from the May Pen Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The charred remains of the child were found in the burnt-out building. The mother was taken to the hospital where she was admitted in stable condition. The May Pen police are investigating.
