Police in Old Harbour, St Catherine last night shot and killed three men during an alleged gun battle at Highhouse, Old Harbour Road, St. Catherine.

Two firearms, a Beretta 9mm pistol with five 9mm cartridges and a Taurus revolver with two 9mm cartridges were reportedly seized during the incident.

The identities of the men have not yet been ascertained. They are all of dark complexion, slim build and were dressed in black shirts with hoods, black pants and black boots.

Reports are that about 9:45 p.m., the police acting on information went to Highhouse where five men were seen armed with guns. When accosted, the men opened fire at the lawmen who returned the fire. After the shooting, the area was searched and three of the men were found with gunshot wounds. The injured men were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
