Auction Of Michael Jackson’s Belongings Called Off

From BallerStatus.com -- The auction of Michael Jackson's personal items, scheduled for later this month, has been called off, after a settlement was reached between Julien's Auctions and Jackson's camp.

The King of Pop sued the auction company in March, claiming that many of the items for sale, removed from his Neverland Ranch, weren't signed off by him.

According to CNN.com, both parties came to a resolution, and agreed that the items would not be sold.

"We resolved everything with Michael Jackson," Julien's Auctions owner Darren Julien told CNN. "We came to a resolution that both sides are very happy with."

At press time, details of the settlement were confidential.

So, it looks like fans of Jackson will not be able to own items such as the iconic, jewel-encrusted white glove featured in the singer's "Billie Jean" music video, or the gates of his Neverland Ranch.

However, the public are still able to view the items from "Neverland and the life and career of Michael Jackson" because they will remain on exhibit in Beverly Hills, California, until April 25. Entry is $20.

After that date, Jackson's belongings will go back to Jackson's control.

Some of the items included is a customized Rolls Royce limousine -- featuring an interior finished in leather, walnut and 24 carat gold -- a life-size Lego model of Darth Vader, and tons of furniture, paintings and more.

Jackson representative Tohme R. Tohme told the LA Times that "there was so much interest from so many of Jackson's fans that instead of putting the items in the hands of private collectors, Dr. Tohme and Julien's Auctions have made arrangements that will allow the collection to be shared with and enjoyed by Jackson's fans for many years to come."

It was not clear what the statement meant, as of press time though.

Jackson sold his longtime Neverland ranch home last year, following his 2005 acquittal on child molestation charges. He moved out immediately following the trial.

The legendary singer is set to perform 50 "final curtain call" concerts in London, England, starting in July. Tickets for the concerts sold out within hours of going on sale last month.

"These will be my final shows performing in London," he said.
