Following reports of an internal gang feud in Spanish Town's notorious Clansman gang, incarcerated gang leader Tesha Miller has sent a message to The STAR, denying any internal feud.

"No feud between no gang member in none of our communities. I work closely with all communities, we are more tightly knit than before," were the words from Miller, as dictated by the gang's spokesperson, Busy.

Other members in the stronghold of De La Vega echoed the sentiments and regarded a murder on Sorletts road as the misconception that brought about this view.

"A di killing wa day ya have people a seh so, but everybody know seh di don a seh peace fi buil up di party ting," said the member.

Lone gunman

Police reports on that incident say about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Shane Hill, 21, was walking in his community along Sorletts road, Spanish Town, when he was pounced upon by a lone gunman and shot. He died on the spot.

Although the Clansman gang is known for its disreputable background, gang spokesman Busy says they are doing positive things now, adding that they and rival gang, One Order, have seen new-found unison through sport and scholarship programmes.

"Right now, we have an Under-13 football programme that communities from both sides (gangs) are benefiting from, as well as four scholarships for a hair and nail school in Spanish Town, each worth $80,000, two of which we gave to One Order to give out on dem side," said Busy.

Despite their alleged philanthropy, head of Kingfish and the National Intelligence Bureau, Assistant Commissioner Glen-more Hines, says the police will not stop until the gang is dismantled.

Major organised gang

"Whether there is an internal feud or not in the (Clansman) gang, the police have been monitoring this organisation for some time and it is identified as a major organised gang, to which we are mandated to dismantle and to those that seek to establish them as a legitimate organisation, be aware that they will and will always be viewed as a criminal entity," said ACP Hines.
