On Feb. 13, the hip-hopper taped an episode of the channel's Storytellers, in which he performs songs and talks about them. Not surprisingly, the outspoken star broached topics that weren't exactly music-related during the three-hour shoot.
Executive producer Bill Flanagan tells Reuters that some of the "choicier" comments and "gotcha moments" that didn't fit with the program were eliminated. "A lot of the stories that Kanye told went long," he says. "I tried to get the essence of his comments."
For example, West told the audience at Sony Studios in Los Angeles that he sees Radiohead as one of his biggest creative rivals and was "hurt" when frontman Thom Yorke supposedly snubbed him backstage at the Grammys.
"So when he performed at the Grammys, I sat the f--k down," West said.
Tidbits about the aforementioned British band and the Chris Brown and Rihanna debacle weren't the only celeb statements to wind up on the cutting room floor. Yeezy also shared his thoughts on Michael Phelps, Michael Jackson and O.J. Simpson.
