THE POLICE ARE maintaining a keen eye on sections of the downtown Kingston as tension amoung boys from two prominent high school in Kingston has heightened. Special Inspector Joseph Donaldson of the Darling Street police told The Star the police were bracing for stand-offs as the warring students have armed themselves with golf clubs and T-squares amoung other weapons. Efforts to get comments from officials of both high schools were unsuccessful. However the police are aware of the situation and has promised to work to prevent further attacks.

Yesterday. police personnel were seen patrolling the student-busy bus terminuses urging children to go home and not loiter. This follows last week Tuesday's incident in which 3 students were hospitalised. The students were reportedly involved in an altercation during which knives were drawn.
