Editing user details

Mods with "Edit User" priviledge: To edit user detail, go to your board and click on "List All Users". Click on the user that you want to edit and choose "View Profile". To edit their profile, click on "Edit Profile" button at the top right hand corner of the page.

Regular users: Alternatively, a user can change their own profile by clicking "User Detail" and then "Edit Profile".

NB Regalar users nor mods can’t change their screen names. Administrator is the only person who can change screen names.

Posting Images

You can post images to your ActiveBoard forum using html or BB Tags (details on using BB Tags are available in the "Posting How-To", linked from the bottom of the new comment page).

For images, click on the <> button to edit the html source if you are using Internet Explorer, then enter an image link such as:

<IMG src="http://MYDOMAIN/MYIMAGE.jpg">

or use a BB Tag:

with http:// MYDOMAIN/MYIMAGE.jpg inserted in the middle...

Alternately, photo sharing sites will allow you to grab the embed code for the image…this can be just as easily embedded into html editor. In fact, you may find this option more useful as it allows the manipulation of image sizes…

Why Are We Against Swearing…

Our platform provider and by extension MZJA are against swearing reduce the number of complaints by our advertisers about foul language.

But what about freedom of speech?

Note from our platform provider – “Your right to freedom of speech does not extend to forcing us to publish your content. Active Board reserves the right to refuse service to any user at any time for reasons including (but not limited to) obsenity, defamation, questionable use of copyrighted material, publishing of hate related material, etc.

If you feel that our policies unfairly restrict your content, you are welcome to choose another provider. “

How can subscribe to MZJAs posts and comments?

The xml buttons on the site are standard signup buttons for RSS feeds. Users with RSS software installed can register for your forum's feed by clicking on one of the buttons, and then any new posts in MZJA will show as new content in their daily RSS digest. The button on the left opens a standard rss document in html format. The button on the right automatically installs the feed in the user's RSS application if it is running.

The Email Digest

The email digest is a summary email showing any recent activity on your forum. Users can elect to recieve the email digest on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.

What are Closed Topics

A closed topic is a topic that is no longer accepting posts. The administrator can close or re-open a topic at any time. While the topic is closed it can still be read, but no new responses will be accepted.

What are Sticky Topics

Sticky topics are topics that stay at the top of the forum, even if other posts are more recent. Sticky topics are generally used to post anouncements, faqs, rules, or other important information.

What are Avatars

Avatars are little images that are shown below the user's name in the column to the left of their posts. Avatars help users recognise each other's posts more easily and provide a degree of personalization.

What are User Titles

The title that is automatically assigned to each users is determined by the number of posts that they have made.
