The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) says it has embarked on a Driver's Licence Upgrade Exercise to improve the current driver's licence system. To facilitate the upgrading exercise, the IRD will suspend all driver's licence services until Friday.
Regular services are scheduled to resume next Monday when the new system is brought back online.
During the period of the upgrading, the printing of driver's licences will also be suspended. However, motorists will still be able to pay the relevant driver's licence fees and to use the receipt of the payment as the official valid document to drive during this period.
On completion of the upgrade to the driver's licence system, the May Pen Collectorate will be added to the existing sites which process and print licences.
