A TERRIFIED 93-year-old widow had a heart attack as she was throttled at home by a hammer-wielding robber.

Deaf Mary Crofts was watching TV and didnt hear the thug until he grabbed her.

She struggled with the thug before fainting. Doctors at the hospital where she is recovering say the gran had a heart attack caused by stress.

Mary said yesterday: Im traumatised. I thought he was going to kill me. You are a peaceful citizen all your life and then this happens.

Mary, who has lived in the home in Shiregreen, Sheffield, for 51 years, is haunted about having to return.

Son Dennis, 56, said: This man is scum. He must be caught, locked up and they should throw away the key. The raider took £400.

aaw poor gran gran... she should count her blessings that she is still alive though and that as bad as the burgular was, he didnt kill her after she passed out or committed any nasty sexual act with her
