GETAFE, Spain (AP) - Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o are looking more likely to be on FC Barcelona's roster come the start of the Spanish league season.
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain said Wednesday that reaching a transfer deal with a club could take time considering the heavy price tag that would accompany either international.
"We can't rush ourselves (to sell). It's difficult because their are very few clubs in the world that can pay these quantities," Begiristain said.
Barcelona has allowed the players to negotiate with clubs. Manchester City is interested in Brazil playmaker Ronaldinho, while Cameroon striker Eto'o has drawn interest from AC Milan.
Begiristain would prefer to wait for a concrete offer to arrive than rush a deal, since both played a major role in winning consecutive league titles and the European Champions League trophy in 2006.
Ronaldinho is coming off his worst season at the Camp Nou after missing the majority of the campaign to injuries. The Brazilian, often criticized for his social habits, has been dubbed "Gordinho" by the Spanish press after pictures from a friendly match he played at Venezuela several days ago showed the midfielder looking over his playing weight.
"I'm convinced that if finally there isn't a solution with another club, when he starts to train he'll rediscover his form," Begiristan said
