A dispute between two women literally turned stink when one of the women threw faeces on the other.
Monique Campbell, one of the women, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Atkinson told the court that both had an argument about abortion, and Campbell allegedly told her that she was going to throw faeces on her.
The court was told that Atkinson also armed herself with faeces in anticipation of the attack by Campbell. The court was also told that on the day of the attack, Atkinson saw Campbell coming down the road with a bag in one hand and a knife in the other.
She said when the accused got near to her, she threw the faeces on the complainant. A tussle developed between the two, during which Campbell was stabbed over the eye.
Atkinson then went to the police, who arrested and charged Campbell with assault at common law.
After listening to both sides, presiding Resident Magistrate Glen Brown said he felt the matter should be dealt with by a lay magistrate, and so transferred the matter to the Lay Magistrate's Court to be mentioned on July 28.
