One876Entertainment.com understands that a release from the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) stated that popular music download website Audiomaxxx.com has been shut down, more than 200,000 music CDs and DVDs seized and four persons arrested following a year-long investigation.
According to a second release from CRIA it was erroneously reported that RCMP had filed criminal charges against four people in connection with the RCMP investigation into Audiomaxxx.com Ltd. CRIA has received information that no one has been charged with an offence in respect of this matter.
For years the website, headed by Raj Singh Ramgotra has been operating out of Winnipeg, Canada and is said to be a major alleged music counterfeiting operation. Many artistes and producers have issued threats to Mr. Ramgotra over his organization selling their material way before the set release dates.
At one point it was said that Ramgotra who is said to be of Indian descent is racist and hated black people. Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel released a track in the past dissing Ramgotra.
When One876Entertainment.com visited the Audiomaxxx website earlier today, a message stating 'Currently revamping the site and are experiencing technical difficulties with the server and emails. We hope to reslove this issue soon sorry thank you' was posted but just below that another message read 'HUGE SALE!!!!!!!! ALL CDs and DOWNLOADS ARE NOW $3.99 ALL DVDs and DOWNLOADS ARE NOW $5.99!!!'. After a few hours when we try to access the website only error messages were returned, 'Problem loading page'.
According to the first release, Raj Singh Ramgotra, the principal behind Audiomaxxx, was among those arrested during a raid yesterday at the organization, which for three years has allegedly manufactured pirated compact discs and hard core pornographic videos, and distributed them throughout Canada, the U.S., Europe and Jamaica. More recently, Audiomaxxx's offerings have also included allegedly pirated digital downloads.
Audiomaxxx.com is suspected of being one of Canada's leading music counterfeiters.
