Diamonds are forever, but they're also infinitely easier to acquire than the original gadget-laden 1964 Aston Martin DB5 used in early James Bond movies. In fact, the last original movie car just fetched a whopping $4.1 million at RM Auction's Automobiles of London event.
After starring in both the Goldfinger and Thunderball films, the pair of custom DB5s, fitted with gadgets like retractable machine guns, a pop-up rear shield, ejector seat, and revolving license plates -- were returned to Aston Martin. Although the special effects car was stripped of its spy equipment and sold to a customer as a standard road car, Aston kept this particular DB5 intact for promotional purposes (the effects car was later retrofitted with gadgets, later stolen, and is now believed to have been destroyed).
