Well, if I were a producer and I made a good beat I wouldnt want to release. Especially if I didnt want any other "artistes" voicing on it, I would sample it (example DNA Riddim). It would be more exclusive then. If I were working on a basic project now, releasing the instrumental wouldn't affect me, or I would release it a a small group.
Gotta look at it from their perspective, it's now always to benefit us. Talk about acapella now, I tell you another thing.

Hmm...depends on which market u a talk bout....if it's an american producer it wouldn't mek sense jus' releasing the instrumental because that's how they make the majority of their money; selling it to artistes for a high price....if they jus' release it, then how can they sell something that's already out there & available to everybody?....
Jamaica now kinda likkle bit different...cause di more di riddim get exposed is the more artistes will want to voice on it, & di more profit di producer will mek, in ja riddims mek money off of popularity...suh it mek likkle more sense from the jamaican stand-point if the producers make their riddims available....
What say you?
