Greetings!
There are some things you will never forget; I'm sure the passing of Michael Jackson is one of them. Unexpectedly, he's gone and there doesn't seem to be any words to explain his sudden passing.
His friends have spoken extensively of how generous a person he was, and how much of a Master he was with the gift of music.
His fans called him the King of Pop - they wanted to be like him! When he rocked the red and black leather jacket in 1983 in the music video "Thriller," every teen had to get one! When he rocked the silver glove also in 1983 in the music video for Billie Jean, gloves became the 'in' thing to wear on the right hand.
Michael shaped style, he shaped Pop culture; he was Swagger before we called it Swagger. He really was the King!
I had the opportunity to see Michael perform live, and it's an experience I will never forget. His every fibre was focused on entertaining his fans. Every move choreographed to the second, every note delivered on time. Only perfect was good enough for his fans.
Michael resides with the musical best in heaven. He and Tupac, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Alton Ellis, Billie Holiday, Elvis Presley, Notorious B.I.G., Jackie Mittoo and so many others must be having the most amazing Jam Session - I wonder who's at the piano?!
