"Authorities say a Telfair County man killed himself after fatally shooting his wife and her employer in the belief that they were having an affair.

Sheriff Jimmie Williamson says deputies found Edward Bowen, 46, with a gunshot wound to the head outside his home near Jacksonville, Ga., Monday afternoon. Inside, they found 38-year-old Melissa Bowen.

Williamson said deputies learned Bowen called a family member and said he killed his wife and David Pickle, who ran a logging company in Wheeler County. Pickle was found dead at his home-based business between Alamo and McRae.

The sheriff says Bowen told a friend recently that he believed his wife and Pickle were having an affair."
