LONDON (AP) - Arsenal defender Gael Clichy signed a new long-term contract on Friday.
The 22-year-old Clichy joined Arsenal in 2003 from AS Monaco and has now made 146 appearances for the club. The Frenchman played in 49 of Arsenal's 58 matches in all competitions last season - the most of any Gunner.
Clichy was also named in the Professional Footballers' Association team of the year last season.
