May 20, 2008 -- A 16-year-old boy visiting from North Carolina was executed on a Queens street yesterday in broad daylight - and cops think the slaying may be the latest in a Far Rockaway drug-turf war that has sparked three days of violence.
Investigators believe the shooting was linked to the hostilities that claimed the life of 15-year-old Bethea Brandon - who was hit by a stray bullet on Saturday - and that left five men wounded early Sunday.
The latest victim, Tyreece "Pop" Johnson, was shot once in the back of the head from close range as he walked near Beach 22nd Street and Mott Avenue at 2:15 p.m., cops said.
Tyreece, a North Carolina high-school student visiting for the week, was no gang member and must have been targeted by mistake, said his dad, Stanley Johnson, 47.
