Tension is brewing between former dancehall queen Charlene and 21 year-old Rebecca Silvera, 2nd runner up in the Miss Jamaica Universe 2008 pageant. Information reaching OutAroad.com suggests that Carlene is at odds with Rebecca who she accuses of having a relationship with her partner. When contacted Rebecca acknowledged that she also heard about such suggestions. I heard the rumors, and I am not sure what she (Carlene) plan to gain by spreading false propaganda. I saw her at a few at my Miss Jamaica Universe events and I heard from concerned persons that at the coronation show she behaved in a ridiculous manner. I heard that she was jumping up and shouting things like "man thief" and booing, which I believe is very absurd and not anything I would like to be a part. If this woman does not like me just leave me alone! Why is she coming to my events and making such a big deal out of me? queried Rebecca. When asked what fueled the tension Rebecca had this to say: It was alleged that I had a relationship with Danhai Williams, which I will never confirm or deny because I believe in keeping my private life out of the publics eye. However, I can say that if I were in a relationship with someone, people would have to have seen us out at least once or twice. Last time I checked it Mr. Williams was in a relationship and recently had a son with former beauty queen Marsha Paragonsingh. Therefore, I do not understand why she has such a thing for me. I really wish she would just leave me alone! According to Rebecca, who has blossomed into a public figure, she would rather keep her public life public and ask people to respect her private life. I understand that this (negativity) comes with becoming a public figure but that aspect I would rather refrain from being involved in. I really do not have time to focus my energy on negativity as I have so much going on since the Miss Jamaica Universe pageant.
