NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Bronx man has died, a week after he was assaulted on the subway.
Police say Samuel Owens, 44, was riding a 6 train in the morning hours of April 25 when he was approached by a group of men. The men allegedly stole his wallet and beat him up on the train near 110th Street and Lexington Avenue.
Owens apparently went home, but didn't call 911 until nearly 15 hours later, when he was rushed to Lincoln Hospital. Owens was pronounced dead Friday, a week after the incident.
The Medical Examiner has ruled the incident a homicide, but has yet to determin the exact cause of death.
Police are still investigating the incident.
