The Eastern Kingston Police have stepped up the pressure on sound system operators who breach the noise abatement act. A second sound system operator has been arrested and charged and is to appear in court this week. The police say that night noise is becoming a nuisance to the citizens of that police division and action will be taken against those who breach the law. Police have arrested and charged sound system operator, David McNaughton for breaches of the noise abatement act. He is the third person to be arrested and charged for breaches of the noise abatement act since Sunday, April 6. A release from the Kingston Eastern Police Division states that McNaughton operates the popular Jam Rock Disco. He was arrested when a joint military police team raided a dance at Bryden Street in the Browns Town Area of East Kingston where the sound system was reportedly playing without a permit. He was granted bail in the sum of $50 thousand to appear in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrates court on Thursday, April 10. The police in Eastern Kingston say they will be vigorously enforcing the provisions of the noise abatement act Yesterday the Eastern Kingston Police revealed that dance promoter, Delroy Anderson of First Avenue, Kingston 3 and sound system owner, Owen Powell had been arrested and charged for breaches of the noise abatement act. The two were held along with 78 other men were held early Sunday morning at a dance called fraggy night. The other men were questioned and relesased.

one main reason why most parties or dances have to go longer is jus that patrons insist on not coming to the events early...want walk inna party 1:20 am and complain when party lock off 2 am. why they dont come 11 or earlier and enjoy a full 3 hours?...
