Penthouse Records has announced an amicable separation from artiste, Buju Banton.
In a statement issued recently, CEO of Penthouse, Donovan Germain said, "I have been guiding and managing the career of Buju Banton for the last 18 years and the time has come for this chapter to close."
He added that having dedicated the last 18 years to building Buju Banton's career, taking him from obscurity to the pinnacle of international stardom, it was with a sense of pride that he relinquished the management of the artist, to move on to other activities.
Germain further stated, "First and foremost, I am a producer and after spending so many years on the road touring, I now feel the need to get back in the studio and get really involved in the production side of the music."

Buju has been waiting for this for a while now.
Imagine giving up 20%-40% of your earnings to a manager and booking agent everytime you do a show.
So if Buju was getting $20,000 for example here is how tingz break down
20% Management = $4000
20% Booking Agency = $4000
Cost of Tour Bus/Driver per night = $500
Musicians & background singer salaries = $400 x 7 = $2800
Road crew = $1200
Total = $12,500
Balance left for BUJU from a $20,000 show = $7,500
but NOW with the new change...
Balance left for Buju is closer to = $12,000
Gwan BUJU.... if Germaine finds ANOTHER Buju then HE is the luckiest man alive...
HE IS in JA afterall, where world class talent can be found monthly but needs a good guide to take it to that level... Germaine IS that guide.
Best wishes to BOTH... they DID make some classic music together.
Bless Up.
