Beenie is in no way surprised by a recent Bill Johnson poll that declared that he is Jamaica's favourite living entertainer.
The poll, conducted between January 12-13 by the Johnson Survey Research Limited revealed that out of a sample size of 1008 persons, 28 per cent chose Beenie as their favourite living artiste. Beres Hammond with 11 per cent came in second.
"It's always good to be important," Beenie said in an interview with THE STAR recently, "when you are the most popular artiste it mean sey everybody know yuh. And to all the work that I've been doing, it mean sey dem si wah a gwaan an mi appreciate all mi fans an well-wishers who support mi."
Beenie also confessed, "when people always a ask mi a wey mi get di push or momentum from, wah dem nuh realise, an mi always tell dem, a from di fans. Right yah now mi feel like mi jus buss yesterday."
ENERGY, ZEAL
Zeal, energy and interaction with fans, are just some of the attributes that Beenie brings to the stage whenever he performs. However, if you ask him what has changed about him over the years, he will quickly answers, "there's no difference."
He further explains, "fi bout three years, it did kinda stay a way, cause me an Killa did have di same amount a song and things were different dat time. But from bout 99' come ova, mi feel like mi buss all ova again and 2007, 2008 a some a mi best years dat. Also, most controversial year wid di story wid me an mi wife, di tax ting, but there is no publicity that is bad publicity unless you are a dead man."
Despite being at the centre of a number of controversies, the thrills and spills of his marriage and separation with now estranged wife D'Angel, the Marco-Dean paternity and alleged millions owed in tax to the government, 'The Doctor' has still managed to maintain his popularity.
BLEND OF GOOD AND BAD
He said that with the blend of good and bad that has been happening in his personal life and career, the fact that he is still favourite shows; "...how much di people dem love mi, regardless what people write about yuh.

Beenie will always be one of jamaica best entertainers. Reason is that beenie has loooottss of hit songs that people of all ages can resite and sing to. Yes I rate movado and busy, but when it really balls down to it, can they sit on stage for hours doing hit after hit after hit? Not saying that they dont have hits, but beenie just has a bit more
