Over the last year, Portmore Empire front man Vybz Kartel seems have made a lot of enemies, from Alliance to Bembe but with the dawning of the new year and his thrust to start a new lease on life the tides are changing for the better.
At the recently concluded British Link-Up held at La Roose in Portmore, Kartel and his former nemesis, Jigsy were all smiles for the camera. Jigsy a popular selector from Bembe fame has for the past couple of months led a one man crusade against the deejay and members of his camp vowing never to play another song from the group for the duration of his life as a selector.
This stance came after an incident at the popular Thursday night spot, Bembe, where Jigsy was allegedly gun butted and thoroughly trashed by Kartel and members of his entourage after he made a comment on stage which he claims offend the deejay. These allegations were quickly dismissed by Kartel who explained he was not in the venue at the time of the alleged incident but did apology for his over-zealous fans that may have committed the act.
Kartel who was in attendance a the Portmore event gave a stellar performance alongside his protege Black Ryno, before posing for a few cameo with members of the media. The question now begs with the two now making ammends does this mean we will hear Jigsy playing Kartel's songs again. On a sadder note, there was a shootout at the event between rival faction in the wee hours of the morning that left, one man dead, several other nursing injuries and hundreds of patrons scampering to escape the melee.
The Police are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.
