FIVE people have died, including a policeman and the gunman, in a night-long stand-off in an LA home. A man barricaded himself in a house after telling police he had killed three relatives, then exchanged gunfire with a police commando team. One officer was killed and another wounded. The standoff began at 9pm yesterday and continued into this morning. The home where the man was holed up was surrounded by more than 200 officers. The officers were shot inside the home shortly after they arrived, Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell said at a news conference. Police were able to get the officers out of the home, and rushed them to a hospital, McDonnell said.
