After a year riddled with confrontation and controversy then getting arrested in the new year ace deejay Adidjah Palmer aka Vybz Kartel has found himself in another bad spot as he was today banned by a popular Jamaican cable station.
When we contacted our sources they could not explain why the ban was implemented, but said that directives were issued and the playing of his songs, videos or even the mere mention of his name in the news or otherwise is prohibited within the confines of the station.
The station who is responsible for bringing a lot of undiscovered talents to the fore and plays some of the 'hippest' and 'hypest' videos seems to be implementing some new guidelines for their programming.
Efforts to reach the management of the station has so far proven futile but we will keep you posted as the story develops.
U.W.I. Says 'No' To Kartel and Spice
To add insult to injury just a day earlier Kartel and Spice who were slated to make appearances on the popular Spectrum concert normally held at the University of the West Indies, Mona camc*u* got dropped from the line up because of concerns raised by the school's administration.
According to a source close to the promotional team they told 876radio.comeveryone wanted Kartel on the line up, but the administration said the deejay is too visible in the news and has been getting a lot of bad press since lately and therefore if he was included in the line up the show would be canceled".
Spice on the other hand they never gave a reason for her removal, but it is clear that there are mounting concerns. The event is set to take place at the University of Technology, Student Activity Center (SAC) on the 2nd of February and will feature the likes of Mavado, Busy Signal, Black Ryno, Jah Cure and Sizzla as the main acts.
The promotional team was force to relocate the event because of its growth and change in demographic, which would have compromised the camc*u* security detailing.
Part proceeds from the event will go to some needy folks at the Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Center and other Outreach programs.
