We said it before and we are going to say it again 2008 is shaping up to be another year loaded with dancehall drama. Just late last year, two of dancehall's bad boys Munga Honourable and newcomer Deva Brat had a go at it at Stone Love 35th Anniversary which saw them both slugging it out on stage.
The altercation almost turned deadly when Munga pulled a knife on stage and had to be restrained by security personnel.
One would have figured with all that ensued they would have learnt their lessons and think about giving peace a chance in the new year, apparently not.
Just weeks ago we learnt of a new riddim called the "Night Creature" and low and behold, who do we discover trading lyrical punches at each other again but Munga and Deva Brat. Mind you nothing is wrong with a little lyrical feud, but deejays sometimes blur the line between fiction and reality as we have seen in the past and we're certainly not trying to see a second episode between these two.
In a recent interview Vybz Kartel, leader of the Portmore Empire, to which Deva Brat is aligned said he spoke to both parties and asked that the physical feud be squashed, because for the new year himself and the Gully God, Mavado are trying to lead a charge against violence in the dancehall, and we at 876radio.com applaud them both as it would be a welcome change for the industry at large.
Nonetheless we have obtained a copy of the tracks, which we took the liberty of mixing and embedded for your listening pleasure. (see player below)
