The police are keeping a close watch on sections of the Homestead community in St. Catherine, after gun men went on a shooting spree in the area.

The incident left 18 year old Ricardo Alexander of Pittsburgh in Homestead dead and two other persons nursing gunshot wounds.

It is reported that a group of heavily armed men went to the home of a 25-year old man who is an alleged Area Don.

The gunmen, who were reportedly posing as lawmen, kicked down the door to the house and opened fire.

The alleged area don is now in hospital in serious condition.

And the gunmen then reportedly invaded Mr. Alexander's house where they opened fire at him.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Four and half hours later the gunmen again struck in another section of the community, injuring another man.
