Just yesterday ace Bembe selector Jigsy in an exclusive interview with 876radio.com said a restraining order was in place against Vybz Kartel and lamented that him and his music very officially banned from the weekly event for life.
However it seems that either the banned has been lifted or hasn't taken effect as yet, then again maybe it only applies to the resident selectors, because last night at Orientation the Bembe Uniform Party, ironically an event being promoted by the said group it was raining Kartel.
When 876radio.com got to the venue Chromatic sound system was on the wheels of steel and they made no mistake in letting everyone know they are avid fans of the deejay and played a stream of Vybz Kartel tracks which was well recieved by most patrons. Of course there was the ocassional frown from some patrons aligned to rival groups, but that did not stop the onslaught.
ZJ Liquid was next in the line-up and his musical selections showed that he wanted nothing to do with the current feud that exist between the two and made sure to play an ample amounts of everyones music including Kartel. Surprisingly no one commented on the feud throughout their set as their only interest was to make sure the fans were satisfied.
Members of the Portmore Empire who had promise to be in attendance, never did show with the exception of Baby Doll, who came through and showed love to everyone while making quite a fashion statement in her "AWASUH" ensemble. One male patrons was overheard saying to another "A how she hot suh".
In retrospect the event was well attended everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly and most important it was incident free.
