From Florida to Kingston, radio airwaves are rocking with the remix for the powerful dancehall hip hop hybrid track, 'Serious'.
Delivering the hook is the multi-platinum, Grammy award winning reggae toaster, Sean Paul. On 'Serious', Sean Paul makes a dramatic departure from his usual up beat topics to highlight the grave dangers of violence.
"when I heard the beat, the hook came instantly, Sean Paul explained to 876radio.com.
Anxious to share the spotlight, Sean Paul called on hot dancehall deejay, Busy Signal.
"I was at home when Sean called me and played the beat. We met up at the studio that same afternoon to lay the track, elaborated Busy Signal.
In Busys verse, he endorses Seans chorus to emphasise the point that gun ting a nuh joke ting.
Sean Paul describes himself as a Busy Signal fan, while Busy has long admired Seans humble demeanour. A collaboration between the two was overdue. 'Serious', the debut collaboration between the two artistes was produced by another young talent, News. Son of Michigan from the duo Michigan and Smiley, News received the completed track and played it for hip hop star, Busta Rhymes, who added a verse for the remix.
The powerhouse combination of Sean Paul, Busy Signal and Busta Rhymes is making its way onto radio playlists even before it has officially been released. There is no word on when fans can get their own copies of 'Serious', but until then frequent calls to radio stations is sure to speed up the process.
