The Spanish Town police have taken a man into custody after he was caught with a high-powered weapon in the town centre on Boxing Day.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Wayne Liscomb, 26-year-old mason of Seaview Gardens, St. Andrew.
Reports reaching THE STAR are that about 6:30 a.m., the police was conducting a patrol along March Pen Road in the vicinity of the Oasis Plaza when Liscomb was seen acting suspiciously after alighting from a bus.
He was accosted and searched and one intra-tec sub-machine gun taken from a 'compartment' of a big pants he was wearing.
and a magazine containing 14 rounds taken from another section of his clothing. He was charged by the police and is booked to appear in court on January 8 next year.
