It is the season for giving and indeed some children and members of staff of the Bustamante Childrens Hospital were pleasantly surprised this afternoon when dancehall top guns, Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Mavado and Rising Star sensation Chris Martin visited the institution bearing gifts and other goodies for the kids and some of the lesser fortunate.
The kids were elated and some were almost on the brink of tears when they received their gifts. If you thought the kids were the only happy ones, think again as some members of staff seemed overwhelmed by the moment.
The kids all got a chance to meet and see their favourite entertainer up close and personal, while staff engaged in brief chat sessions with the stars.
The Staff of the Hospital said they were very grateful for the kind and thoughtful gesture and encouraged other entertainers and corporate entities to follow the examples being set by these gentlemen.
2005 Rising Star winner Christopher Martin in and interview with said the giving does not ends there for him as he will be giving back to the children of Back Pasture St. Catherine. The talented singer/performer from Back Pasture in St. Catherine, will be organizing a treat for his community.
The Christopher Martins Christmas Treat will commence on Friday, December 21, at 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Back Pasture St. Catherine. The event will cater to 200 children, prizes and surprises all day, great music and surprise performances. He said all are invited to attend and join in the festivities.
