One of two men caught scrapping a Jamaica Defence Force aircraft to supply the illegal scrap metal trade, pleaded guilty in court Friday. Twenty year old Al Orlando Brown was given an 18 month suspended sentence when he appeared before the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court. His co-accused Allan Miller pleaded not guilty and is to be tried on February 4. On September 21, the three men were reportedly caught by military personnel, scrapping an aircraft at Up Park Camp. Brown and Miller were caught trying to jump the fence to the military base on the approach on the military personnel. The third man escaped. The men were found in possession of metal taken from the aircraft.
