Why is are people allowed to post there ip trackers in there post (selector byron&viper 3k) Am I the only one that has a problem with them doing this?

The cool thing about this graphic is that when people see it, they think their private information (like their city or IP address) is being publicly shown on your Myspace profile, blog, or forum, and they think that other people can see their private info! Their first thought is, "hey, how did my IP address get on this website?!", or "why is this website telling people where are live?!" In reality, they are the only one that can see their private info, because the graphic is created in real-time for each person who sees is. When you see the graphic, you will see your IP. When others see the graphic, they will see their IP.

But the real question is.. are IP's being logged? Yes or No definitely not from this sign displaying, but by any other means?

lol @ OP I can only speak for my self RastaQKing, mi nah log no one IP. If so many ppl are concern with their IP been known when surfing try to acquire a Anonymous Surfing blocker program it hides you IP address and other information by providing fake ones.

Usually when IP's are logged it is like a double edged sword - - either for malicious purposes - or to protect the site against malicious conduct Thus when posting things on a site it would be in the best interest of the site to at least be able to determine from what IP this was posted from. This limits others from posting maliscious items like a .jpg that deletes your boot.ini file or something.. Either way.. the sign above is cool and harmless.. Respec..

Here is a link to danasoft site the creators of this suspicious software meant to ease the minds of the concerned. Personally i think its bullshit. Google just bought doubleclick the biggest tracker and sell of your surfing info. DJ Mercenary put up 2 very good free spyware blockers in the General knowledge section to block such programs.
