A labourer from Stony Hill, St. Andrew, who reportedly held his 20-year-old daughter at knife point and sniffed her private parts, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

The court heard that the accused, who is charged with indecent assault, locked his daughter inside a room and told her that he was jealous of her spending so much time with her boyfriend.

According to court documents, the accused was released from jail sometime in July of 2007 and was reunited with his daughter who had previously only heard of him. The complainant reportedly visited the accused on several occasions, during which she either slept with an aunt or with her father. The complainant reportedly decided to live with her father after losing her job. The accused, on one occasion, reportedly got angry because he did not think she was sleeping with him enough.

Statements from the complainant reveal that on January 7, just as she had come from the bathroom, the accused man, who was wielding a knife, locked her in a room and reportedly told her that she was not going anywhere. He reportedly also told her, "Yu nuh hear wha mi seh? Every night yu gone a man yard."

It is alleged that the following day, the complainant was awakened by the accused standing over her. While holding a knife at her throat, he reportedly told her, "Hey gal. Get up. Today a mi birthday, open up mek mi enjoy miself. If yu nuh open yu foot and tek off yu panty, mi a go kill yu, an' kill miself cause mi jealous."

The accused then reportedly kissed the complainant on her breasts and other parts of her body and then proceeded to sniff her private parts. He, then reportedly, told the complainant that he did not enjoy himself and told her not to tell anyone.

A report was made to a family member, however, and later to the police, and the accused was arrested and charged.
