Do you wanna know if your hard drive is set to transfer data at it's maximum speed?
The first thing is to make sure that your controllers are set to run in DMA Mode,
If Available.
Even if you have already checked this before, double check it again.

I have seen spyware and other malware change this setting over to PIO mode
(which you do not want.. 'cause it severely cripples your system speed).

Here is how to check...

First Go to your device manager (Start, then run then type devmgmt.msc)

Then look for your IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and click on the plus sign to expand it.

Then double click on your Primary IDE Controller (also sometimes called Standard IDE Controller)

Then, click on the Advanced Settings Tab and verify that it is set to
DMA Mode, if Available.
If it is set to PIO only, change it to DMA Mode if Available.

Repeat this for your Secondary IDE Controller

Anyone has a RAR password buster that works. Not the one that gives you only the first 3 characters but the whole password decryption.

How to Keep Your Computer Clean

Step 1:
Getting rid or your cookies and compressed files: 1. click on START on the bottom left of your screen 2. go to PROGRAMS 3. then ACCESSORIES 4. now SYSTEM TOOLS 5. finally DISC CLEAN UP ... now click on it

Step 2:
a pop-up box will open up, it may take a while for it to fully load, but it is searching your WHOLE computer for unwanted JUNK. When it's done, another one will appear (see diagram) check marks in the boxes, make sure the boxes are checked off next to the files that are using disk space. Now click OK, then YES. This may take a while if there is a LOT in there. but be patient, it's a good thing.

Step 3:
When that's done, it's time to DEFRAG. Once again: 1. click on START on the bottom left of your screen 2. go to PROGRAMS 3. then ACCESSORIES 4. now SYSTEM TOOLS 5. but this time, you will go down to DISK DEFRAGMENTER ... and again, click on it. another box will open up, click on DEFRAGMENT. Now THIS takes a long time, I do mine over night, but when it's done, re-boot your computer and it is sure to run faster!

First you need a tool called "Resource Hacker". This free program allows you to change resources in any .exe file such as "Explorer.exe", which includes the [Start] button's Label. You can visit Download.com and search there for "Resource Hacker". After you download it, follow the guide here: Step 1: A - Run "Resource Hacker" and open the file "%windir%\Explorer.exe". B - You see a Tree of all Resources in this file, expand the "String Table" C - Find the "start" and replace it with your own text. then press the [Compile Script] button. D - Save "Explorer.exe" as "MyStart.exe" DONT save it as Explorer.exe, do "save as.." and give it a new name. E - Quit "Resource Hacker". Step 2: A - Click on the [Start] button and choose the "Run..." item from the start menu. (Or use the shortcut key WinKey+R) B - Type "RegEdit" in the Run "Dialog Box". And then press the [Ok] buton to run the "Registry Editor" program. C - Go to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" and find the "Shell" property. D - Replace value of the "Shell" property to "MyStart.exe". E - Quit "Registry Editor". F - Restart your system. Note about Registry Editor: if you did not find the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon", you can search the Registry for the "Explorer.exe", to do this use the Edit Menu | Find Next (Ctrl+F).
