R. Kelly's closet is getting bigger and more bizarre. The singer premiered the sequel to his twisted and craftily campy "Trapped in the Closet" video serial with a red-carpet extravaganza in New York on Wednesday night.
Don't ask me to explain it," Kelly told the audience before the videos aired. "I don't know how to explain how I wrote it."
It might be hard for anyone to explain Kelly's ghetto soap opera, which includes a gay pastor, cheating spouses, a convict named 'Twon and a well-endowed midget. In the new episodes chapters 13 through 22, for those keeping count he adds an old reverend, ex-con lesbians and a stuttering pimp, played by Kelly himself.
"I call it an alien," Kelly said of his tour-de-farce. The "alien" first appeared in 2005, when the singer-songwriter premiered "Trapped in the Closet," a five-part song series that kicked off with a man hiding in his paramour's closet as her husband comes in; each song ended with a cliffhanger. Soon afterward, Kelly released a DVD video of the series, adding seven more chapters and with each chapter, the plot got weirder. But despite or perhaps because of its "Jerry Springer"-like appeal, it has become a cult classic. Kelly's upcoming September trial on child pornography charges haven't dampened anticipation for the next installment of "Trapped": Parts of the new series have been premiering on Independent Film Channel's Web site since Monday; the DVD with the complete series hits stores on Tuesday. The IFC will show them in their entirety in September. Like the chapters before it, the 22nd chapter ends with a cliffhanger. Does that mean there are more chapters to come? Kelly says he's not sure when the series will be done, but says it will finish "when the aliens decide to leave."

D'Angel returns to her vehicle.
More Beenie and D'Angel drama unfolded yesterday afternoon in full view of scores of onlookers after 'The Doctor' reportedly entered their Mafia House studio in 8 Garelli House, off Trafalgar Road, and loaded two removal trucks with furniture and equipment.
D'Angel was en route to The Gleaner offices for an interview when she telephoned to say that she had an emergency and had to divert.
Minutes later, THE STAR, received a tip that her estranged husband, Beenie Man, was in the removal process.
The STAR was first on the scene to witness much of the fiasco, which unfolded at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Police personnel were also quick on the scene to calm the feuding couple.
However, Assistant Superintendent of Police Wayne Cameron, who was present, ordered the movers brought on the premises by Beenie Man to unload the office fixtures and furniture and return them to the office.
"This is a matrimonial matter, he (Beenie) says the things are his and she (D'Angel) says the things are hers. You cannot remove them just like that."
Beenie Man eventually left the premises, while D'Angel was escorted upstairs to a private room away from the media.
On hearing the police officer's orders, Beenie then rushed over to reporters and videographers.
"Unno tun on unno camera. It (Mafia House) was just taken away from me by Angel and her lawyers. The injunction is against me coming here (Mafia House) and the home of my child."
He was, however, advised not to say anything further as D'Angel's legal representative beckoned to the police officers to stop him.
She shouted: "He (Beenie) can't do that, this is a legal matter, he is in contempt of court!"
At that point, the police cautioned 'The Doctor' and escorted him away from the media representatives.
This latest incident comes on the heels of a recent declaration by Beenie Man that his marriage is over. He has accused his wife and mother of his nine-month-old infant of being unfaithful. She had countered that his accusations were false.

On the run is 24-year-old Seymour Lindsay of Top Jackson, Sligoville, St. Catherine.
Reports are that about 9:30 a.m., yesterday, both brothers reportedly had a dispute over a merino(or wife beaters) when their mother intervened

Breadwinner
As she wept uncontrollably, Ms. Dwyer told THE STAR that Garfield was the breadwinner for the family and only returned two weeks ago from a construction site in Montego Bay and should have returned to work next week. But this was not to be.
Between sobs, the distraught mother said it is not the first time that 'Bibby' had wounded his brother.
"Him chop him cross him mouth one time, and we neva do nutten bout it and see it deh now...."
Other residents said the brothers were always quarrelling and that it was really sad that it ended this way.
The accused man allegedly ran into nearby bushes with some of his belongings and the police who came on the scene said that they will be seeking the public's assistance to catch Bibby.
Meanwhile, the Bog Walk police have recovered a ratchet knife which they believe is the murder weapon. The Homicide detectives are conducting further investigations into the matter.
After Busy Signal made that bold 'Step Out' in his Clarks back in 2005 and it worked, Busy says he is constantly trying to improve upon his image and music.
In seeking to keep this vow, Busy recently changed his management team as he looks to take his career a notch higher.
"Mi very pleased wid di change. Shane Brown a deal wid mi ting now and fans can look forward to new things, more songs, videos and more promotion. Whatever mi did lack of, wi waan get dat to the forefront because mi a still young artiste and mi still need the push," Busy said in a recent interview with THE STAR.
No simple task
Busy's new manager, Shane C. Brown says managing an artiste is no simple task and where Busy is concerned, he had to ensure that they were on a similar wave length as far as goals were concerned.
"Fi manage a artiste, yuh haffi have a good understanding of each other, because mi deh yah (Big Yard) wid Shaggy and Robert fi over 12 years, suh a nuh sum'n weh yuh jus jump inna. Suh mi did haffi mek sure sey di two a wi have an understanding on weh wi a work towards," Brown said.
As a matter of fact, Busy's new manager has already begun to work on his public image because, "when you go in the streets, nuff yout have a wrong approach about him (Busy), suh first, mi want him to be more media friendly and people don't get this impression that he is somebody you can't approach."
He also added, "di music nuh fi have no boundary, Jamaica a jus one place, suh wi haffi get di artiste out deh in every corner of the world. Image and presentation of the artiste is also very important while at the same time, wi nuh want nuh out a place ting, wi haffi know when an where."
According to Busy, "right now, di whole image setting now, wi a approach di whole ting different, like wa mi wear an ting. Back inna di days when mi jus a buss, a some ole shoes an cut off foot pants because I thought that was di ting, but now, dressing-wise, as yuh can si wid Sumfest (2007) cause wi have all some local designers weh wi a work wid like Carlton Brown, Rameash and Mosiah. Suh working with these people will help to improve di image," Busy said.
As it relates to his music, Busy says "sometimes we as artiste nuh get di justice or di right highlight, suh wi jus a try step to more firmer tings, big man level, real classical ting, deh yah fi stay type a ting."
"A really di long road mi a focus pon, suh mi a try keep as far away from all di negative an try firm up di ting, because not all publicity is good publicity," he said. "At di end of the day wi jus a work fi di ting get better, di 'dissing' ting a waste a time ting, dat nuh last. That's why mi guh do songs like These Are The Days and Sex Sells, mi a try different topics."
New Management
With all that said, Busy is confident that with the combination of his new, devoted management team and his revised image and outlook on music, "only me can stop me."

Former dancehall queen and popular dancer, Mad Michelle, has come out and expressed her disgust at what she describes as malicious rumours that have been circulating in dancehall circles about her.
Mad Michelle, whose real name is Ann-Marie McKoy, says there is a rumour going around that she is involved with dancehall selector Fire Links, but according to her, "Him (Fire Links) neva eva step to me dem way deh. Di most him wi come to mi an sey is gi mi yuh fren nuh."
But life has become almost unbearable since that rumour started, Mad Michelle told THE STAR, that it has caused her to get into a physical altercation with her partner, Harry Toddler.
"Everybody in Jamaica and all over the world know that Toddler and Mad Michelle is together, we're together like for five years now, from 2003 when I got Dancehall Queen. Now, because of the rumour, me an Harry Toddler had an altercation pertaining to the whole thing about Fire Links an di argument became physical, we had a fight. People been telling him that Mad Michelle have dis yah man an dat an nutt'n nuh guh suh," Mad Michelle said.
Domestic dispute
In the heat of their domestic dispute, Mad Michelle says things were said that have hurt her feelings. The argument between the two apparently got so bad that Mad Michelle is now advising other female dancers to stay away from relationships with persons in their profession.
"Mi a advise the dancehall queen dem, don't tek up no artiste, selecta, nobody inna di same profession - right yah now mi heart full, mi feel like mi woulda stop dance an all lef Jamaica. Mad Michelle, who says she turned 25 years old last June, says her career is still doing well as "I'm just coming off a tour from places like Montreal, Martinique and Cayman and I'm booked from now until September, October. Officers attached to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said that the selector will reappear in the HWT Resident Magistrates court on August 17.Deejay selector Foota Hype is a key member of the Bounty Killer-led Alliance. He had been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Sean Kingston Kingston Has No. 1 Song, Top Debut On Hot 100

A week after soaring 23-1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" begins a second week in the top spot on the chart. The newcomer's self-titled debut album, released by Beluga Heights/Epic, opened yesterday at No. 6 on The Billboard 200. Kingston also has the Hot 100's top debut at No. 28 with "Me Love," the first time an artist ranked No. 1 and scored Hot Shot Debut honors since Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" and "Listen" in January.
The top challenger of "Beautiful Girls" is Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry," which rebounds 3-2 in its 16th chart week. Plain White T's' former No. 1, "Hey There Delilah," slides 2-3, while Timbaland's "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson is up 5-4, trading places with Rihanna's "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z.
At No. 6 is Kanye West's Daft Punk-sampling "Stronger," which debuted last week at No. 47. In its first full week of sales, the cut shifted 143,000 downloads, narrowly missing West's best weekly sum. "Gold Digger" sold 147,000 in early January 2006.

Too personal
However, Macka says she does not see any reason for Fire Links to take her 'special' so personally.
"... Mi nuh feel nuh way like sey mi dis him. A jus' fun ting, 'cause a me sey 'Lexus and Benz, a dat Matterhorn f... man fah', an Matterhorn nuh sey nutt'n. When Matterhorn si mi, a bare laugh him laugh," Macka said.
She also added, "Beenie Man do one (dub) too, Vegas do one too, a nuh me alone. Is a job an' somebody a pay yuh fi do a special. Suh Links, nuh bodda tek it to heart. Jus' know sey a music. Mi do tune fi Links, him produce tune wey mi do already, suh mi nuh have nutt'n 'gainst him."
When contacted by THE STAR, Fire Links, however, refused to make any comments on the matter.
But Fire Links was not the only person who felt the biting effects of a dub at Fully Loaded. The show's promoter, Sharon Burke, was dragged into the 'special' disses. It was reported that Black Chiney's dubs against Burke were so over the top that they were booed off stage.
The dub that has caused the most controversy was one done by Vegas.
Burke, however, was not willing to comment on the matter. She said she did not even hear most of what took place, but said that the people who were there and heard it, found it to be offensive.
However, Burke said, "Vegas (who voiced the dub), is somebody I respect and I didn't expect that from him, but he came and apologised and his apology is accepted."
Vegas explained that "the whole thing was done under gimmicks for Fully Loaded."

The World's First All-glass Undersea Restaurant Opens
The Maldives | 15 April marks the day that the first ever all-glass undersea restaurant in the world opens its doors for business at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. Ithaa* will sit five meters below the waves of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear acrylic offering diners 270-degrees of panoramic underwater views.
"We have used aquarium technology to put diners face-to-face with the stunning underwater environment of the Maldives ", says Carsten Schieck, General Manager of Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. "Our guests always comment on being blown away by the colour, clarity, and beauty of the underwater world in the Maldives , so it seemed the perfect idea to build a restaurant where diners can experience fine cuisine and take time to enjoy the views - without ever getting their feet wet."
Created by MJ Murphy Ltd, a design consultancy based in New Zealand , Ithaa's distinctive feature is the use of curved transparent acrylic walls and roof, similar to those used in aquarium attractions. "The fact that the entire restaurant except for the floor is made of clear acrylic makes this unique in the world," continues Schieck, "We are currently planting a coral garden on the reef to add to the spectacular views of the rays, sharks and many colourful fish that live around the reef near the restaurant."
The five-metre by nine-metre transparent arch, which spans the entire room, seats 14 people and provides a feeling of being completely at one with the underwater world while submerged beneath the surface of the ocean. Set with the resort's renowned house reef one side, and a clear lagoon on the other, diners enjoy their meal within Ithaa's translucent shell as the underwater drama unfolds on all sides.
Naturally the food will be as spectacular as the underwater setting, explains Schieck, "In such a unique restaurant we wanted to create a distinctive cuisine, which is why we've decided to offer 'contemporary Maldivian cuisine' as a theme. We take local spices and traditional flavours and give them a western twist to create a fusion cuisine that you could find in the best restaurants in London or New York . Nobody else has done this before and we're very excited about it."
While the cuisine is dedicated to the fine balance of western food items with a Maldivian flavour, the wine concept is equally exciting; offering diners the perfect opportunity to discover the wines of the prestigious Champagne house Louis Roederer.
Ithaa is reached by a wooden walkway from the nearby over-water Sunset Grill Restaurant. Diners begin their meal with drinks on a specially constructed deck over the ocean and then descend to the restaurant via a spiral staircase where the à la carte menu is served. Seating only 14 people, Ithaa offers one of the most intimate and exclusive dining experiences in the world.
This innovative restaurant is the first of its kind in the world, and is part of a US $25 million re-build of Rangalifinolhu Island , one of the twin islands that make up Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. This re-build includes the construction of 79 of the most luxurious Beach Villas in the country as well as the Spa Village , a self-contained, over-water 'resort-within-a-resort' consisting of a spa, restaurant and 21 villas.

On Tuesday, word spread that there was a bit of a confrontation between Barbee and DAngel at a Fire Tuesday dance in Tawes Pen, St. Catherine during which DAngel allegedly sent thugs to throw Barbee out of a dance.
Sources close to DAngel claimed that she was upset that Beenie Man seemed to be parading Barbee around in DAngels backyard of Spanish Town.
DAngel denied sending thugs to page Barbee, but asked: How would you feel if your partner was parading around someone else in your hometown?.
For her part, Barbee was happy that there were no fisticuffs at the event. She once again denied that there was any hanky-panky going on between her and Beenie Man.

COPS WANT MAVADO - Being sought for questioning about shooting incident
Popular dancehall artisteMavado is being sought by the police for questioning after it is alleged that he was an eyewitness to a shooting incident on Sunday night.
The incident, which occurred at a bar frequented by his former musical rival Vybz Kartel, allegedly resulted in one of Mavado's associates known as 'Chase', being shot and injured by a member of his own entourage.
Police reports indicate that about 7:15 p.m., Mavado, Chase, and another man went to a bar at the corner of Mannings Hill Road and Whitehall Avenue, where an altercation occurred with another man, who is known as 'Slouch'. The altercation escalated into a physical tussle, in which Slouch was assaulted (boxed several times), and a weapon was drawn and shots fired at him.
According to a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Slouch's quick action possibly saved his life and resulted in the injury of Chase.
"Slouch see seh him a guh get shot an' drag Chase in front a him," the witness said.
Chase, who was shot in his right hand, was taken to hospital, treated and then taken into police custody.
Officer in charge of crime for the St. Andrew North Division, Acting Deputy Superintendent Winston Henderson, confirmed that Chase was still in police custody up to press time, and that Mavado was now being sought for questioning into the incident.
"The allegations are that he (Mavado) was present at the incident, so we are seeking him to speak with him regarding the shooting. He could have been there and did nothing, so we won't just charge him, but we need him to come and answer some questions," the acting DSP said.
Second shooting
Sources at the Constant Spring Police Station also informed THE STAR that this was the second allegation of a shooting incident at the bar.
"About one or two months back, men came and fired a barrage of shots at the bar," said the officer. Efforts to contact Mavado on the matter proved futile, as THE STAR team was informed by associates in Cassava Piece that he will not be speaking with the press on the matter.

A man of Hendon, Norwood, in St. James, who stole a bottle of lotion and baby clothing will be sentenced on October 8 in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.
The court is awaiting a probation report on Dalton Lawrence, as he, on Thursday, pleaded with RM Winsome Henry not to send him to prison.
"Mi did have a hard time in jail, Your Honour, for di 10 days mi lock up down there," he said.
"Di other prisoner dem beat mi up 'cause dem seh mi a big man an' a tief lotion, and more time mi affi crawl inna corner."
During his first court appearance, Lawrence pleaded guilty to stealing the lotion from J&J Pharmacy, but said that it was his neighbour who had stolen the baby clothes and other items from the Maxie department store, and handed him the items to leave at her house.

However, on Thursday, he told the court that he would take responsibility for those items as his neighbour was "hiding" from him, and, therefore, would not attend court to clear his name.
The facts are that Lawrence went to the pharmacy on July 11, where a policeman, who was inside, observed him placing a bottle of Palmer's cocoa butter lotion in a bag he had. The officer went outside and waited on the accused.
The court heard that when Lawrence exited the pharmacy, the cop accosted him and took him back inside, where he ordered a search of the bag. The lotion, two packs of baby wipes, a nipple bottle and a pacifier were recovered. In addition, items bearing the tags of the Maxie's department store were also seen.
Further allegations are that the police carried out investigations at Maxie's and was informed that the items were stolen as there was no record of them being sold. When cautioned, Lawrence allegedly asked the police to give him a chance.The email states:

According to an article in The Gleaner, Senator Dorothy Lightbourne, Attorney-At-Law and JLP spokesperson on Gender and Children's Affairs says, "In 2005, there were 5,527 reported incidents. The figures for domestic violence could be much higher, as many cases go unreported. I appeal to our women to not cower in fear - speak out, get help, seek redress."
Each year acts of violence: physical, emotional, sexual and psychological have been committed against thousands of women and girls in their communities, their schools, their workplaces, their homes and in the street.
In the same article from The Gleaner, The Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller: Prime Minister of Jamaica had this to say, "The sad fact is that the majority of the violence committed against women is carried out within the private sphere of the family, with devastating consequences for the well-being and proper development of those children who are directly exposed to it."
In the meantime D'Angel will continue to use her career as a platform to entertain and educate around women's rights, self-love and empowerment. She does not wish to do interviews around the specifics of her marriage with Beenie Man but you will hear clear messages through her music and live performances.
"I want to thank the thousands of people both here and overseas who have either called, sent emails, and flowers lending their support to me and my family during this very sensitive time. DAngel has remained stoic and focused in the face of Beenie Man's much ballyhooed allegations of infidelity, determined that history and time will absolve her.
Right now, Angel does not feel that Beenie loved her. She feels as though she was tricked into this relationship, she was looking for love, but apparently he was looking for a hype. He got what he wanted, and now he is ready to abandon his wife and his child over flesh, just common lust....he wants to still be an ole dawg, and that cannot work in a marriage, one of DAngels close friends said.
She is not cheating and in time, everyone will know who was really lying.
DAngel said that she has resolved to start a foundation for battered women, and vowed to donate part proceeds from her performance fees to fund the organisation. Okay so I went to Bees concert in Orlando and like omg I nearly died. Ring The Alarm had just started and she was going down the steps and at the last couple of steps. She FELL!!!!
She fell right on her face and like the mic flew out of her hand and almost fell off the stage. She quickly got back up and acted like absolutely nothing had happened!!!! I was beyond impressed. She is a very professional entertainer and I have the upmost respect for her. During the beginning of Suga Mama, she was like Damn That hurt so bad. I want to eat some hamburger helper. The crowd went crazy. She even cracked a joke about it. She hurt herself though I saw blood on her right leg and like the chick didnt even flinch. I wouldve walked off stage and acted straight up diva-ish if I was her. Props to her. The concert in Ft. Lauderdale was amazing and the concert in Orlando was straight up gangsta!

We has been receiving phone calls from around the world from viewers 'asking who is that girl?' and seeking confirmation as to the two artistes' alleged affair.It has been said by persons that Beenie Man's marriage to D'Angel is on the rocks and the two seem to be having problems. They recently performed at a club in Connecticut.
Could Barbee, real name, Faith Jackson who has thick thighs and more than enough 'junk in the trunk' who was once a model and a 'video-girl' be behind the problems between Beenie Man and D'Angel?
One source told said that they saw the two at Sumfest and at first they thought it was D'Angel but then they noticed that the girl Beenie Man had his arms around had 'better shape than D'Angel'.

'It don't look good' - D'Angel speaks on Sumfest pics
Dancehall artiste D'Angel says that she is yet to get an explanation from her husband, Beenie Man, as to what is really happening between him and another artiste, Barbee, who was reportedly cuddling at the recently held Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest.
Speaking with THE STAR late last night, D'Angel who got married to Beenie less than a year ago said she saw the pictures and article in yesterday's edition of the paper, which reported that her husband was seen with Barbee on Saturday, two days after he had performed on the festival.
"I am reading what you read and we (Beenie Man) haven't communicated. I leave it to our Jamaican public to decide, but it don't look good to me," she said.
D'Angel however refused to express how she felt emotionally about the situation; "I don't have anything to say at this time or anytime soon. Situations like these I just leave it alone."
Child is priority
While the future of their marriage seems to be hanging in the balance, D'Angel is more concerned about their child, Marco-Dean. "I don't know her (Barbee) or dem and dem life. A me and my child, and me a try raise him di best way possible," she said.
Two nights after performing on Reggae Sumfest, Beenie Man and Barbee were spotted frolicking in the VIP section at the summer reggae festival. Both openly showed affection in front of the patrons and some persons expressed their disgust.
This incident comes a year after Beenie made a public appearance at the very same event with then very pregnant D'Angel.
In the meantime, neither Beenie nor Barbee, who is the featured singer in one of his latest videos, have said anything about the situation.
Yesterday THE STAR news team tried for several hours to contact Barbee for a comment, but were instead given the run around by her management team. A family member later told the news team that she will be willing to give an interview about the situation at a later date.

The bottom line: some analysts claimed that the iPhone launch would be a failure if Apple failed to sell 100,000 iPhones during the first weekend. Based upon the limited data we have, we believe that number was exceeded in just the first two to three hours. Blackfriars' prediction is that Apple will sell 500,000 iPhones this weekend, and based upon limited sales rates reported, that number now looks quite achievable. The only question is whether the demand and iPhone supply is great enough that they might push past the million unit mark this weekend.
Things are really only going to get interesting though if sales remain strong for the rest of this year and into 2008.
LG to Develop YouTube Phone
First it was the LG with built-in Google applications, today is a phone optimized for YouTube. LG announced today that they have signed an agreement with the company and will unveil it this year in Europe, probably before Apple releases the JesusPhone. However, the LG won't be just a YouTube client.
It will allow users not only to watch videos but also record and share them with other YouTubers, definitely a winner for true fans of the movie site. We don't know if it will use Flash-based video or H.264, but looking at the fact that it allows to record your own stuff (and probably uses that format for that) it will probably use it for decoding as well.
Who is going to lock Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest’s Xplosion?
Dancehall heavyweights Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Munga and Mavado will all be vying to steal the headlines for the Dancehall Xplosion show at Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay this year.
Beenie Man has the number one single in the country Beenie Mans Back It Up, and that song has been the selectors overall choice of hottest girl tune for the summer.Mavado has been on a tear all year long and his Gully Side is at #7 in Richie Bs chart. He has several hit singles such as Chat Too Much, Touch the Road and Badmind Like are sure crowd favourites.
In the meantime, Kartels combination single with DAngel, Baby Father is #10 on Richie Bs chart., and his number one hit, Wine Pon You is now #8 on the Richie B charts. VKs latest release, Empire Army, on Stephen Di Genius McGregors new joint is one of the hottest singles on the street, and accompanied by a grimy video shot on the Gaza Strip in Portmore, word on the street is that it will be the bad mans anthem for the Summer.
Munga is the new ras on the block. His singles, Bad From Mi Born, Wine Pon It and Gangsta Ras are likely to pull the biggest forwards for the night. Munga has been tearing up shows across the island and his tracks are enjoying heavy rotations on the airwaves.
It's hard to say which performance will attract the most forwards and crowd satisfaction but we are sure that this years staging of the event promises quality performances as these artistes will be gunning for a high climax.
Dancehall artiste D'Angel is fuming mad at her exemption from this year's Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest as she says promoters did not recognise her talent as an artiste who could hold her own on stage.
"Some wrong negotiations gwaan, like dem waan mi be a segment inna Moses performance, a dat mi get fi understand. Mi nuh inna nuh call on ting, I have earned the position to be on Sumfest, so the capacity that they wanted me to work in I declined, I am a solo act, I can hold my own and do my fifteen, twenty minutes of performance too," D'Angel told The STAR.
She added, "I'm not happy about not being a part of Sumfest, but what can I do? But big up to my fans same way an wi si how it goes next year."
D'Angel says last year she was called up on Sumfest by Beenie Man because she was eight months pregnant and was therefore unable to do a show, but this year, "I want to shine and I've never been on Sumfest so that's why I'm so disappointed."
However, D'Angel said whether or not local promoters wanted to book her for shows or not, "my career don't stop in Jamaica, look how much other festivals are taking place around the world."
D'Angel says she does not feel overshadowed by her husband's career, because, "Beenie a big international artiste, me jus a get known, but wi have wi own fans wey si us in wi own light an di promoters need fi know dat."
When THE STAR contacted the office of Summerfest Productions, a representative there said, "She (D'Angel) was not booked for the show and I don't know what took place previously, I have no information about that."
And attempts to reach Executive Director of Summerfest Promotions Johnny Gourzong for more details were unsuccessful as he was not in office and his cell phone rang without an answer.
It was evident that persons were busy preparing for dancehall night at Sumfest as even D'Angel's husband, Beenie Man was unable to take any calls from THE STAR as we were told by his Road Manager, Blue, that 'the doctor' was doing his hair.
D'Angel recently performed at a show in the Bronx, New York on July 7 where she says, "I was the featured act on the show."
In the meantime, D'Angel has been busy recording for various producers like Sly and Robbie, "a song called When Last and I'm about to shoot a video for my song Feeling Good on Maestro's rhythm," she said.
Adding, "I've also voiced for the likes of Stephen McGregor, Stone Love and Arif Cooper."
Other songs that D'Angel has to her credit include Downtown Girl, One Man, Woman Power, Ghetto Girl Anthem, Baby Daddy featuring Vybz Kartel and Hype featuring Macka Diamond.
D'Angel says her next show is 'Summer Hype' on July 28th at the Good Year Oval in St. Thomas.

Mr. Vegas has been cleared to perform at this weekend at the 2007 staging of Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest's dancehall night dubbed Xplosion in Montego Bay, St. James.
"We have been given confirmation by doctors that Vegas can perform at this year's Sumfest, so everything is set to go," manager Earlton Clarke saidMr. Vegas scored two top ten hits, 'Tek Weh Yuself' and 'Raging Bull' this year. Last week, the singjay was admitted to the Tony Thwaites wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies after complaining of chest pains. It was later revealed that the pain was caused by an acute case of pericarditis and gastroesophageal reflux.
The pericardium is a tissue that surrounds the heart itself, and when it becomes inflamed it will apply pressure on the heart muscle, causing pain and it could stop the heart which could lead to very serious conditions.
