Beenie Man fainted after feeling ill ad collapsed in the arms of Quad security personnel early this morning, just minutes after getting into a vocal argument with Ice, a dancer, in the club.

It is as yet unclear what could have caused the deejay to feel ill, but it could perhaps been a combination of his libation of Hennessey, Heineken, Red Bull, exhaustion from dancing, the argument and his recent emotional and financial woes.

The deejay collapsed and was immediately held by members of the Quad security detail. He was drifting in and out of consciousness for at least three minutes. At first, he failed to respond to questions, then he eventually revived, and drank a bottle of water, and then resumed partying.

Earlier, the deejay had attended a special function in the Asylum nightclub for members of the media and entertainers. Sting promoter Isaiah Laing had playfully tried to get Beenie Man and D'Angel to reconcile their differences inside the club. He even tried to pull Beenie Man towards Angel at one time, but Beenie Man resisted.

Phillipps has not fallen out of the top 10 contenders for the crown in a feature dubbed 'The Royal Flush'. The Royal Flush, a term borrowed from gambling, which comprises the top 21 of the 107 contestants who are in contention for the title. This top 21 is determined by eight Miss World experts. The contenders' place in the Royal Flush is determined by her popularity and the media attention she generates during the pageant. Yendi, who fell on the listing to 9th last week, is now back in 5th place, dubbed 'King of Hearts'. Miss Lithuania, Jurguita Jurkute is in first place on the Royal Flush, Dominican Republic is in second place, Miss China in third and Miss Malaysia in fourth place. More bets Additionally, even more bookmakers are placing bets on the Jamaican beauty. Despite not finishing in the top three for the latest Miss World Fast track event, the Sports competition, Yendi is among the safe bets for the crown according to the betting companies. In the Sports event, Miss United States Abigail McCary finished first, Sweden's Annie Oliv finished second, while Scotland's Nieve Jennings finished in third place. However, of those finalists, Miss USA is the only contestant in the top five of the bookmakers' predictions. While Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De La Cruz, dominates all 13 of the bookmakers' predictions as the number 1 contender, Miss Jamaica, is not far behind in second place according to 4 of the bookmakers, in 3rd place three times, in 4th place three times, and in fifth place twice. Other contenders in the bookmakers' top five include Puerto Rico, Lithuania, China, USA, Venezuela, Brazil and Philippines. Street light stolen

The City Centre police are now hunting for a man who they believe stole a street light to sell as scrap metal. According to police reports, while they were on patrol on Orange Street in downtown Kingston at 1 a.m. Tuesday, they saw a man walking down the road with a street light. He was chased down the road but he managed to escape leaving behind the street light. Recently Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce suspended the trade of scrap metal following the high number of scrap metals products that were stolen from companies and government entities for sale in the industry. The trade of the commodity was, however, restored after the ministry established the Scrap Metal Regulations 2007, to monitor and regulate the trade. Provisions under the regulations include fines and penalties for breaches; the licensing of legitimate traders and the introduction of inspectors to monitor the transporting of scrap metal.
Vybz Kartel does paternity test
21-Nov-07 |

Deejay Vybz Kartel and his daughter, Adi-anna did a DNA test on Tuesday of this week to determine the paternity of the child. Kartel and his estranged babymother, Sherika Todd reconcile their differences on Monday and agreed to conduct the test which was done at a private lab. The couple had been at loggerheads for the past two weeks, with their argument spilling over into the daily papers.

Kartel13.jpgFor her part, Ms. Todd is looking forward to clearing her name once the DNA test results are produced within three to four weeks.

Then he had better apologize to his daughter and to me, she said in an interview with One876Entertainment.com.  If Adi-anna is a jacket, he is going to have to wear it till it squeeze him.

In the meantime, Vybz Kartel, in a statement issued through his publicists, said a DNA test would provide conclusive evidence whether he had fathered Addi-anna, and erase any lingering doubts.

I have three sons and I love them so much I would rather die than allow them to suffer and I am willing to accept Adi-anna with open arms, but as in any lifetime commitment, one has to be as certain as possible as to the validity of such a commitment before embarking on that path. An example of this is marriage so Sherika and I spoke and she has agreed to let the accuracy of science determine the outcome, Kartel said.

After which, if the results are in the positive I will fully and gladly accept my duties as a father to my daughter. Everyone and their friend knows that I am a very loving, kind, caring father and very protective of my children and I would never leave them wanting or allow them to grow like bastards. I just want to be certain and I'm saying this presumptuously on behalf of every man on the planetexcept Michael Jackson.

beenieman-andd%27angelmarcodeanphotos.jpgIn a judgment handed down by the Jamaican court last week D Angel has been awarded full ownership of a number of business entities which were jointly operated with her now estranged husband, Beenie Man.

DAngel now holds full rights and interest in the Production House and Clothing Boutique. Plans are now in the works to merge the entities under one business umbrella in a hope to capitalize on the DAngel branding power.

This shocking revelation, comes weeks behind Beenie Mans multi-million dollar tax liability case in which it is alleged by local tax officials that the king of the Dancehall owes the Jamaican Government over forty million dollars.

The Entertainer nor a rep could be contacted for a comment on the issue, as Beenie Man has been ordered to rest by his doctor after passing out at a popular Kingston nightclub recently due to work related fatigue.

Sources close to DAngel stated that the businesswoman is in preparation for number offshore appearances before returning to Jamaica for the busy Christmas event season.

Beenie Man married DAngel in a whirl wind fairy tale wedding last August. The couples share one child, Marco-dean who turned one earlier the month.

D'Angel Takes Over Mafia House

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=985 The dispute as to who really owns the Mafia House has been settled, the company now belongs to DAngel.

Recently, Beenie Man and D'Angel had a public spectacle which created a media frenzy over the then assets of MAFIA House. Apparently when the relationship the two shared turned sour Beenie decided to take his share of the assets and go his separate way.

Fortunately for D'Angel the lawmen were quick on the scene and prevented this unfolding saga; and to add to the misery of Beenie Man he was served an injunction by D'Angel's lawyer which prohibited him from accessing the compound until both the investigation and court cases were complete.

In an recent interview with 876radio.com the Diva told us that she had renamed the company to Angel's Productions. Which will act as the exclusive entity for all business related matter for her and said she just wanted everyone to know that the initial idea was Beenie's but she was the one that registered the company hence the then MAFIA House did belong to her.

Beenie Man in an interview with another media house, was quoted as saying, "She (D'Angel) tek wey Mafia House from mi."

However, D'Angel says Beenie is trying to portray her as being a bad person, but she just wants to make it clear the premises was never purchased, it was leased and done so under her name hence she has all rights to the property.

A pastor believes it is the work of the devil, but a psychiatrist is of the opinion that there are still too many unanswered questions as to why nearly 30 students of a secondary school in south Dominica were exhibiting "unusual behaviour" on Thursday. "This is not normal, this is not ordinary. We must be aware of the devices of Satan and how he works," said Pastor Omry Davis of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. too coincidental He told reporters that it was also too coincidental that 25 girls would also suffer from the same unusual behaviour. "These are healthy girls. It's not one person; eight of them at the Princes Margaret Hospital and 25 of them in all. Is that normal? Is that an ordinary everyday occurrence? Of course not," the pastor said. Psychiatrist Dr. Griffin Benjamin said there were many unanswered questions regarding the incident at the Pierre Charles Secondary School in Grandbay, south of Roseau. Eyewitnesses said that nearly 30 students made strange animal noises, denouncing God and professing loyalty to the devil. The students, all girls, could not be contained by school and medical authorities despite efforts to sedate them. Dr. Benjamin said the amount of valium administered to the students "would have put most of us to sleep immediately and some of these children delayed and even became more active after giving them valium." "What really happened, we are not sure. We can't say we know," Dr. Benjamin told reporters, adding, however, that he was very sure that the phenomenon was a medical issue, since the same students had been treated for similar symptoms in the past. Education Minister Vince Henderson said he would have met with all stakeholders yesterday to discuss the matter.
Several prominent high school campuses are now being used to facilitate the illegal drug trade, with students boasting big bucks from their involvement. So prominent is the trade that THE STAR was able to speak to five 'student dealers' from different high schools in Kingston and St. Catherine. The dealers openly admitted to selling 'ganja' on their campuses, although it is against the law and school rules. "Afta dat no new. Right ya now, if me waan some funds fi miself, mi can invest inna some weed (marijuana) and sell it a school ... Mi haffi mek some profits," one student from one of the prominent high schools in Kingston bragged. While THE STAR did not witness students making ganja purchases, the newsteam saw the drugs that the dealers were offering. While talking to them about their operations, the team was told that they easily made an average of $3,000 weekly selling bags of the drug with prices ranging from $10 to $100 each. Bag prices The student dealers operation is similar to that of the street dealers from whom they purchase their products. "Jus like how di man dem out a road do dem ting a so we do it to. $10 bag, $20 bag and if dem deh too small wi have $100 bag," one student dealer explained. THE STAR also learnt that the pricing structure was not the only way in which the student dealers were similar to their street counterparts in their mode of operations. According to the students, there are designated areas for weed selling and buying, as there is always the threat of being caught. "It only natural seh once mi reach a school, mi go lock di ting someweh. Mi naw go walk up an' dung wid it 'cause more time dem search wi up," one student dealer explained. Another dealer also shared similar claims with THE STAR, as he explained that they carried on their dealings at a particular spot which is known by many, if not all students. Operations officer at the community safety branch of the Safe Schools Programme, Deputy Supt. Merrick Watson, admitted that the programme has come across reports of the school drug trade. He, however, noted that based on these reports, the school resource officers who are responsible for communicating with students, had not seen the frequency of such reports as being conducted at an alarming rate. "We know children will indulge themselves in these activities ... We have had a few isolated incidents as they come up from time to time, but not on a broad scale," DSP Watson said. Principals of the affected schools also admitted awareness of the activities and said that they will take a zero tolerance approach to these activities if the culprits are caught. They say that the guilty parties will be expelled from their institutions. "It's sad to say, but drug abuse in schools is by no way nothing new, so it would only make sense for school officials to ensure that students are kept informed about the dangers of being involved in such activities," one principal said. But despite the threat of expulsion, some students say that they are willing to take the risk because it provides the necessary funds for their schooling and to help their families. There were also others who say that it provided them with some form of financial independence. At least two students who spoke to THE STAR openly admitted to selling ganja in order to finance their stylish wants. "Mi naw lie to yuh still, my people tek care a my school ting dem - school books and everything, so dat a nuh my problem ... Mi sell weed and mek my own money suh mi can buy anything weh mi want, suh mi nuh affi pressure mi people dem," the fifth form student said before adding, "If mi want a hot shoes, mi nuh affi a beg, mi jus use mi own money and buy it. If mi want a hot bag a di same ting, if mi want money fi go out a di same ting. Mi nuh haffi depend pon nobody." Similar was the claim of another student of a comprehensive high school, who claimed that his schooling necessities were taken care of by his parents, but they refused to fund his sometimes petty wants. "Mi naw sell miself, and me is a yute nuh wear nutten but di latest, so mi jus juggle likkle herbs fi tek care a miself, so mi nuh haffi pressure mi mada and fada 'cause dem nuh like spend money pon dem ting deh," he explained. Meanwhile, DSP Watson says that the safe schools programme is "geared toward identifying unacceptable activities similar to this" and he says that they will definitely be implementing corrective measures for what he calls "isolated incidents".

In the wake of Kanye Wests mothers death, perceived rival 50 Cent is showing his support for West during these difficult times.

"Thats really an unfortunate situation and I hope he can work his way through it," 50 told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday. "Its good to see him actually touring: You can work your way back into a comfortable space where you can deal with those situations."

As has been widely reported, Kanye and 50 faced off in the sales battle of 2007 September 11 when both of their new albums were released on the same day. Kanye ended up selling more than 50 and debuted at #1 the following week. Despite this, 50 Cent sees why this is such a tragic moment for West.

"I can definitely understand how thats a huge loss, and how that would be, and then (Kanyes) relationship with his mom had a lot more depth to it than a lot of peoples. He was real close to his mom" said 50.

And while 50 Cent fired several shots at Kanye West during their sales war in September and even mocked West recently at concert appearances, 50 insists there is no beef between the two.

"I never viewed him as an actual enemy; what I was trying to do is build a competition" stated 50.

The entertainer and estranged wife of dancehall icon Beenie Man has renamed the company Angel's Productions. The business will now be catering exclusively to D'Angel's booking needs.

"It's now registered under my name, Michelle Downer, and I am a businesswoman, so this is just a continuation of my entrepreneurship," D'Angel told The STAR.

Exclusive booking agency

D'Angel says her company serves as a booking agency exclusively for her, "where producers and show promoters can find me. Everything remains the same and the number remains the same, 754-927. So it's a booking agent and we looking to do production in the near future. But everything comes under one body, from Angel's Boutique, D'Angel the artiste and Angel's Productions, cyan guh wrong."

Recently, D'Angel and her estranged husband Beenie Man made a public spectacle when Beenie went to the then Mafia House premises located at 8 Garelli Avenue and tried to remove furniture and other office equipment. The police were, however, quick on the scene and it was then that Beenie Man learnt that an injunction had been taken out against him.

Beenie, was quoted as saying, "She (D'Angel) tek wey Mafia House from mi."

However, D'Angel says there was no contending with Beenie over who should have rights to the production company. "It was leased in my name, it's not like the place was bought and paid for, I am solely responsible for it," she said.

D'Angel says her fans can "just look out for bigger and better things in the new year".

"Fresh Air Records will also be doing some exclusive work with me towards the end of the year and in the coming year. So right now I'm just trying to keep the momentum and continue to work hard. Blaze is doing well and I've already started working on the album. I have about three names that I came up with already; 'Blessed Child', 'Journey of an Angel' or 'Free Girl'. But my fans can choose for me, I want them to feel a part of this because they have been with me through thick and thin."

Beenie Wants DNA test for Marco Dean
24-Nov-07 |

Just call it celebrity DNA testing fever. Now Beenie Man wants in on the action.

Top deejay Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis is now demanding a DNA test for his son, Marco Dean, who he allegedly fathered with his wife, Michelle DAngel Downer-Davis because he believes that she has been less than honest with him during their relationship.

Speaking to One876Entertainment.com via phone last night, the deejay said:

BeenieMan11.jpgShe is telling so many lies on me that I have decided to just do the DNA test fi find out if I am the father or not. She cannot be trusted because of the constant lies so there is a possibility that the child is not mine."

The deejays move comes fresh on the heels of Vybz Kartels decision to do a DNA test to determine the paternity of his only daughter, Adi-anna. The deejay has been having a torrid emotional time during the last few months, having separated from his wife in July after he accused her of having a relationship with another man. The two have had very public dust-ups in the last few months, one of which became a media circus after the deejay attempted to reclaim office furniture at the M.A.F.I.A house office in New Kingston.

The situation has grown progressively worse in the last few weeks.
It was recently reported by another media outlet that Beenie Mans attempt to wish his son happy birthday was rebuffed by DAngel two weeks ago. Furthermore, earlier this week, Beenie Mans drummer attempted to contact DAngel to do a dubplate for Beenie to beef up his musical arsenal for tonights World Sound clash with Tony Matterhorn at the Amazura in Queens, NY. D'Angel turned down the request, however, the deejay then got a call from a high ranking police officer who informed him that he should stop harassing his wife.

Beenie Man is now putting down the kid gloves and getting down to business.

As it did in October a coalition of queer, black and human rights groups has succeeded in preventing Jamaican musicians from performing in Canada.

Shows by dancehall musicians Capleton, Baby Cham and Beenie Man have all been cancelled. The artists were scheduled to perform in southern Ontario in November and December. The Stop Murder Music Canada coalition (SMM) opposed their entry into the country on the grounds of homophobic lyrics the coalition says violate Canada's hate laws.

"All three are gone," says Helen Kennedy, the executive director of queer lobby group Egale Canada, a member of SMM. "None of the artists who violate our criminal code will perform, which is good news. Our objective is to raise the awareness of the human rights violations when these artists come to this country."

Kennedy says SMM sent a letter to Minister of Immigration Diane Finley asking her to deny entry to the artists on the grounds that their songs violate Canada's hate laws. But Kennedy says they have received no reply. Nobody from Finley's office returned calls from Xtra.

SMM met with the promoters of the Baby Cham and Beenie Man shows and demanded the artists publicly sign ? in Jamaica ? the Reggae Compassion Act, a contract in which the artist apologizes for writing and performing homophobic songs and pledges not to perform them any more.

Kennedy says she thinks the artists probably didn't take well to the demand.

"One can guess that the conversation didn't go very well," she says.

The promoters did not return phone calls or emails from Xtra.

According to Akim Larcher, the founder of the Canadian chapter of SMM, artists have in the past signed such a declaration before shows in North America or Europe then repudiated it when home in Jamaica.

"The most important thing would be a public apology within the Caribbean, especially in Jamaica, specifically saying violence against gays and lesbians is not acceptable and should not be tolerated," says Larcher.

According to Amnesty International and gay human rights groups attacks on queers in Jamaica are widespread. The Jamaica Forum for Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays reports that 98 queers were attacked this year between February and July in 43 mob attacks and that at least 10 queers were murdered between 2005 and 2006.

According to SMM Capleton, who was scheduled to perform on Nov 24 in Woodbridge, has songs like "Give Har" which includes the lyrics "Shoulda know seh Capleton bun battyman [You should know that Capleton burns queers]/ Dem same fire apply to all di lesbian [The same fire applies to lesbians]/ Seh mi bun everything from mi know seh dem gay [Say I burn everything as long as I know that they're gay]/ All boogaman and sodemites fi get killed [All queers and sodomites should be killed]."

Beenie Man, who was to perform in Waterloo on Dec 7, performs "Han Up Deh" with the lyrics "Hang chi chi gal wid a long piece of rope [Hang lesbians with a long piece of rope]" and "Batty Man Fi Dead" which means "Queers must be killed" and contains the lyrics "From you f**k batty den a coppa and lead [If you f**k arse then you get copper and lead]."

Baby Cham, who was going to perform at Toronto's Sound Academy on Dec 8 as part of the Jingle Jam event, is credited with "Bun Batty Bwoy [Burn gay men]" and "Another Level" with the lyrics "Poop man fi drawn and dat a yawd man philosophy [Shit men must be drowned and that's a Jamaican philosophy]."

In an interview before the news of Baby Cham's cancellation Carey Britt, the director of marketing at Sound Academy, says he wasn't aware that Baby Cham was scheduled to perform. He says that because of the controversy, the promoters may have been trying to downplay the musician's presence.

"They may be trying to pull a sneaky one," he says. "We've got it listed in the calendar as Jingle Jam, not a concert."

Britt says that when Croatian artist Thompson ? who has been accused of glorifying Nazis ? was prevented from performing at Kool Haus in November for his alleged fascist sympathies, the promoters merely told Sound Academy they needed a bigger venue. Sound Academy cancelled that show.

Kennedy says SMM met with several Jamaican and black community groups on Nov 13 to discuss music with hateful lyrics and other issues affecting both communities. She says the groups will meet again.

Larcher says that since SMM gained a great deal of publicity in October when artists Elephant Man and Sizzla had several shows cancelled the Jamaican community in Canada has been discussing the issue.

"It's been positive and negative from the Jamaican-Canadian community," he says. "There is still that underlying issue of homophobia."

Larcher says that some in the black gay community have accused SMM of targeting Jamaica.

"In no way do we demean Jamaica," he says. "But it's the epicentre of where that music comes from and the epicentre of violence against gays and lesbians."

Academic and author Rinaldo Walcott ? who teaches and writes about black popular culture ? says it is the dancehall artists who are demeaning Jamaica. He says he has no patience for arguments that the homophobic songs reflect Jamaican culture.

"Anyone who makes that argument is saying Jamaica is a deeply ingrained homophobic culture and that's a bullshit argument," says Walcott. "This music is not a useful reflection of the complexity of the culture of black people.

"This would be like 10 or 15 rock bands in Canada making hateful music about gays and people saying, 'That's just what Canada's like.'"

But Walcott says that as queers in the Caribbean have begun to speak up, music has become a source of opposition.

"As gays and lesbians have organized the music has become one of the main vehicles to respond," he says. "There's also a lot of anecdotal evidence that as dancehall spreads to other Caribbean countries, we've also seen a change in the tone of the homophobia. It used to be laughter and ridicule. Now it's verging on and sometimes turning to violence."

Walcott says that while he doesn't think the music will lead to violence in Canada, it could affect queer blacks, especially youth.

"It could hurt someone who might be struggling to come out. It could make the lives of black gays and lesbians more difficult and less meaningful."

Walcott says that he also doesn't think the issue is one of censorship.

"This music represents hate to such an extreme that it calls for the extermination of gays and lesbians. Stop Murder Music is not about censorship. It's saying that certain kinds of speech that are so hateful are not welcome in our society and under our legal system."

It is hard to imagine that there is a dispute over the ownership of the song 'Ring Ding Ding'. The song, which was recorded by two different performers and which bred a dance move of the same name, is the cause of contention between singers Baby Chris and Viper. The entertainers both claim to be owners of the rights of the popular song, which includes the nonsensical lines: Ring Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Daaaa, Ding Ding Ding Daaaa... Despite its obscure references, the song managed to become a hit in dancehall circles last year. Baby Chris, whose real name is Christopher Lloyd, claims he is the original writer and singer of the popular song and not Viper. London "Di tune Ring Ding Ding, it buss a England originally by a group called LOC, which is me, Lenky and Outodox. It's the abbreviation fi all of us names. Wi do da tune deh inna 2004 an wi voice it inna London, England," Baby Chris said. However, Baby Chris says that at the time the song was popular in England, Viper was there and that is how he learnt about it. "Suh di tune break worldwide an wi deh all ova a perform, like Japan, South America, di whole a Europe. At the time, di yout name Viper did deh a England an si sey di song was a big song, suh when him come back a Jamaica him start do di song cause him si sey it did have a big hype out here too," Baby Chris claims. "He was going around with Little Hero doing the song, but tru a three people do di song, people thought he was a part of the group, so now, people in Ocho Rios where he lives, MoBay and all those places think that it's Viper who made the song," Baby Chris told The STAR. Trick "He also went to some small islands in the Caribbean and performed the song and when people realise it's not me, he played the fool an' said he was a part of the group. At one point, he even tried to get me to come and perform with him, but I realised that it was a trick." However, when contacted, Viper's Manager Gregory Marsh told THE STAR that Baby Chris had no case as Viper's song is completely different. "Is two different song, a nuh di same song from whe Baby Chris do. An if a man a guh fight fi Ring Ding, a Miss Lou originate Ring Ding, so nuh man nuh have di right to it," Marsh stated. "Viper sey, 'Ring Ding Ding, ding daa,' but is a completely different song from wah Baby Chris a sing. But jus' because Viper sing fi him song an it buss a Jamaica, an nobody neva know bout fi him (Baby Chris) song," Marsh explained. Baby Chris has recently released a part two to Ring Ding Ding. "I just want to clear it up and let people know that I am the real one, who wrote the song and perform it, well the three of us who are in the group. And for persons who don't believe, they can go on myspace, www.myspace.com/babychris-muzic. I also have the part two which is already out called Ring Ding Part 2 whe mi a sey 'Ring Ding Ding an gone, an mi ring ding ding an buss'." According to Baby Chris, the release of a video for part two of the song should clear matters up a bit. He also intends to further clarify the issue on upcoming shows like Sting, Jamboree and others this season. However, Marsh is dismissing Baby Chris' intention of settling the score with part two of the song. Viper's manager says they will not be deterred from performing the song. "Dem sey dem waan clash Viper pon Sting - but Viper up fi anything at all, cause dem nuh have nuh hype a Jamaica wid dem song, Viper mash up every stage show wid fi him song." Piracy Baby Chris, however, says he plans to copywrite his work, given the problems of piracy that is prevalent in the music industry. "Definitely, I plan to because a today mi a think bout it cause even right now mi have a slang whe mi sey 'a like it, a like it!' An mi hear Lexus an Elephant wid it already," Baby Chris said.

Killer and Mavado join hip hop elites
14-Nov-07

Alliance overlord Bounty Killer and the "Gully God" Mavado are leaving the island this weekend to appear alongside some of Hip Hops biggest and brightest names for a show being held on Miami's South Beach.

mavado2.jpgDisc jockey/producer DJ Khaled, one of the hottest stars in the rap game, is celebrating his birthday at Club Mansion on Monday November 19th, with L'il Wayne - the self-titled Best Rapper Alive - headlining the party. T-Pain, perhaps the hottest name to emerge in urban music in 2007, also co-stars on the show, with Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Birdman, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy and Plies providing a powerful supporting cast. Many special surprise guests are also expected to appear.

Jamaica will be well represented by Bounty Killer and Mavado, the only non-American acts on the bill.
Macka Diamond's former booking agent and publicist Ray Alexander says an attempt was made on his life on Tuesday night and he believes only one person could be responsible. The incident took place at his home in Bridgeport, St. Catherine. "At around quarter to nine I was in one section of the house doing some work and my girlfriend was in the main bedroom, which is like a car length from the gate," Alexander recalls. "Upon hearing two explosions, she jumped off the bed and went on the ground and I got up wondering what was going on. When I went outside, my neighbours had already gathered at my gate and they said a bwoy just fired two shots into my house an' ran off," Alexander told The STAR. He continued, "I then saw one bullet impression on the wall and a bullet hole that went through the window and lodged in the closet. As soon as I figured out what was happening, I called the Bridgeport police." Alexander says, "I have been in this business for 13 years and I don't have any enemies. But when the incident happened, only one person came to mind and I gave that name to the police because they asked me if I have any conflict with anybody and I said no, but there is only one person I can think about." Since the incident, Ray Alexander says he received another death threat at around 10:55 a.m. yesterday from someone calling from a private number. "It was a male voice stating that if I keep calling up Macka's name about the shooting, dem a guh come kill me an my family. And I said I haven't called any names, all I did was make a report to the police," Alexander said. The former booking agent and publicist for Macka Diamond severed ties with the artiste over one month ago. Upset Macka Diamond was, however, upset about the rumours that she had something to do with the shooting. "Suh why my name a call? A hear mi a hear all these things ... the way how me respec Ray, all now wi nuh argue. But this is taking it to another level. How me drop in? Mi hurt - mi nuh understand this? I don't have nutt'n against Ray, all now me an Ray nuh talk, not even pon di phone. At the end of the day, I don't have nutt'n against Ray," Macka told The STAR. She continued, "Wi nuh have no big problem fi it reach to shooting. Why him a think bout me whe not even like argue. How me coulda waan tek Ray life? A nuh like mi a suffer or anything ... mi stay weh from di negativity. Even mi guh a one studio one day an mi hear dem wid di mix up bout when wi split an' mi don't guh back a di studio. "It come in like me a di female version to Beenie Man yah now," Macka Diamond said in reference to Beenie's recent spate of personal and legal problems. When contacted, Detective Coleman from the Bridgeport Police Station, where the incident was reported, said, "We haven't got anything more on the incident as yet, but he (Ray Alexander) did give the name of one person that he suspected. "But we cannot question that person because they did not actually issue a threat to him. But he (Ray Alexander) later received a phone call with a death threat and we have a description on the voice, so we are following that right now," Detective Coleman said.
Shortly after she met and spoke with her father at a bus stop in West Parade, downtown Kingston, 14-year-old Alicia Brown (not her real name) was held up at gunpoint and raped inside the St. William Grant Park on Tuesday night. One week ago, a woman was abducted from the park and taken to the nearby Mark Lane area where she, too, was raped. Reports are that she was sitting in the park with her boyfriend when they were surprised by two gunmen who robbed her boyfriend before taking her away. During the last two weeks, two other women returning home from work were also held up and raped inside the park. The rapes usually take place early mornings and late evenings. A spokesperson at the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) said the centre had knowledge of at least two cases which it is currently pursuing. According to the police, sections of the park have been in darkness for sometime and as a result has been transformed into a haven for robbers and rapists. A spokesperson at the Kingston Central Police Station told The Gleaner that the have been patrolling the area, but each time they enter the park, phone calls are made to inform the criminals of their presence. In the meantime, the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC), which has responsibility for the maintenance of the park was unaware of the existing conditions. Speaking with The Gleaner yesterday, Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, said he had no knowledge that there were no lights in the park. "No honestly, I was not aware of it," I will have to check it tomorrow (today) and ask the city engineer to find out exactly why there are no lights in the park," said Mayor McKenzie. He stressed that work is set to commence on the park early next year. The mayor disclosed that Cabinet had signed off on and awarded contracts to rehabilitate the facility. "The only reason work has not started is because we don't want to disrupt the Christmas tree lighting ceremony (scheduled for next month). Work is being mobilised to commence the first week in January," McKenzie said. What used to be a place where just about anybody could go, sit and relax, has become a danger zone, especially for females. Apart from the crime, the relevant authorities have allowed the park to deteriorate. It is now in a run down state. Located in the centre of downtown Kingston, the park was named in honour of the 1930s labour leader, William Grant, who was an associate of the former Prime Minister, Sir Alexander Bustamante. The park was previously known as Victoria Park in honour of Queen Victoria of England, but after Independence the name was changed. Inside the park are several monuments, the principal one being that of Queen Victoria. To the north of the park is the statue of National Hero Norman Manley and to the south is the statue of Sir Alexander Bustamante, also a National Hero.
dhrsig3.jpgThe fisheenie clown is a common clown fish found throughout the atlantic Caribbean region though during summer months it is found as far north as NY. The fisheenie clown is sometimes called the mimic clown due to its documented behavior of mimicking the long mouth kila species, the dominant predatory species throughout these regions. By mimicking the long mouth kila the fisheenie clown is often able to establish itself in regions normally dominated by the long mouth. The long mouth while not known as a peaceful species is sometimes tolerant of the fisheenie clown but has been known to become aggressive from time to time when the fisheeenie mimic clown tries to assert itself too boldly within the long mouths territory. When alarmed the fisheenie clown puts on a marvelous display of posturing and gesturing but do not be alarmed! Once this display of posturing and gesturing is deemed ineffective by the fisheenie clown it quickly retreats to safety within the shallow areas of the reef where there is little threat of danger. Here the fisheenie mimic clown continues to postures and gesture in the safety of the shallows just as a precautionary measure of impending danger.

The fisheenie clowns are live bearers where the female fisheenie cares for their young to a pre adolescent age where they are cast out to fend for themselves. These fish have been known to often form symbiotic relationships with the electric batricks snake eel. The full nature of this symbiotic relationship is unknown but it is believed the electric batricks snake eel provides shelter for the casted juvenile fisheenie clown and in return the clown provides food amongst other things so that the electric batricks snake eel can feed comfortably with little effort of its own. The length of this relationship is not fully known but it is believed that around the middle age point the fisheenie clown may leave this symbiotic relationship to seek a mate. It is speculated that the fisheenie clown may be hermaphroditic as once it finds a mate and the courtship has been established the female assumes the dominant role. While it unknown if male fisheenie mimic clowns maintain life long partnerships with their mate it is well documented the female takes on several partners through out her young adulthood. It is believed once the female assumes the dominant role and turns her mate into a galclown state she then seeks another dominant male clown where this phenomenon is repeated over and over through out her life cycle.

Fish aficionado and lover Peter King was believed to have conducted great research and video documentation of the fisheenie mimic clowns behavior but do to an untimely death these video documents have yet to released to the public and likewise content of this data not yet fully known.

The Alliance is as strong as ever

The Alliance
is experiencing resurgence after the bitter split between the core of the unit and Vybz Kartel and Idonia.

However, the greatest buzz in the streets concerns the crews' new Medley, titled, "Keeping it Gangster". The medley features Bounty Killer, Mavado, Busy Signal, Wayne Marshall and Bling Dawg.

Yardflex
caught hold of Bling Dawg for a few minutes, and inquired of a few things. It was obvious that he was very quiet during the animosities surrounding Idonia and Vybz Kartel's departure.

"The truth is that people will act as they please at times. To each his own. However, The Alliance is as strong as ever and is moving to even higher heights," Bling asserted.

Bling says that throughout the years he has laid the foundation, and now he is focusing on taking his career to a higher level.

"The album is coming, titled "Dawg House" - and it will be released early next year," he revealed. He was very tight lipped on details about the album, but said it would spring surprises.

Popular songs like "How it suh Easy" and "What's Life" are currently building the right momentum before the "Dawg House opens."

The Candy Shop rapper, who was being quizzed by South Asian fusion website desihits.com, caused uproar by making the sexually provocative motion while being taught chat-up lines. As 50 was shown how to say 'beautiful girl' in Hindi, he loosened his 'fly' and interrupted: "Everyone around the world knows sign language. I am looking forward to coming to India. Every country I have been to, even if I don't speak the language, people know what I mean when I do this." The visibly stunned male interviewer covered his face with his hands as he said: "Stop 50, you are really embarrassing me. I can't believe 50 just tried to show us his wicket!" The presenter hastily made 50 return to his seat before cutting to a music video. One horrified female viewer said: "What 50 did was totally unacceptable. I couldn't believe he could be so inappropriate during an interview." 50 also revealed he is set to release his own range of incense. The hip-hop star is considering launching a line of aromatic oils and sticks under the name '50 Scent'. He said: "You know what, this could be cool. I like this idea."

Press release from NeYo's publicist

Yesterday, Shaffer Smith aka Ne-Yo was informed that he was being dropped from the rest of the R Kelly tour after delivering two sensational performances. Entertainment reporters, music critics, bloggers, fans, and concert goers all agreed that Ne-Yo's performances brought the heat; but maybe it brought too much heat.

"He's written hit songs for Beyonce "Irreplaceable" and Rihanna "Unfaithful" (spending a combined 19 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100), said Tango, Ne-Yo's business partner and manager. He's written songs slated to be on Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, and Enrique Iglesias' new albums. In a recent article in Ebony Magazine, the king of pop, Michael Jackson, referred to him as one of the artists that impresses him most. The fans were really feeling his performances. He's good; maybe he's too good that's the problem."

It seems like déjà vu didn't R Kelly have drama on his last tour. R Kelly's camp sited the lack of a signed contract as the reason for removing Ne-Yo from the line up.

"I don't understand their actions because I was rehearsing, doing media, promoting the tour, and performing, said Ne-Yo. In my opinion, I was doing everything possible to make the tour a success. I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."

Ne-Yo expressed genuine concern regarding not having the opportunity to complete the tour. He wanted all of his fans and supporters to be able to see him live. "To my fans and ticket holders I apologize if you are disappointed."

Four-month-old stolen

It is now more than a week since a stranger disappeared with Kerry-Ann Pusey's four-month-old baby but she is still as puzzled as the day the incident occurred. Pusey has been a worried mother since November 12, when her baby, Annabelle Taylor, was taken away. The mother of Salt Pond Road in Spanish Town, said that on the morning in question, at about 11 a.m., an unknown female entered her yard and told her that one of her neighbours wanted to take the child to the supermarket with her. She gave the child to the stranger. Sometime in the afternoon however, the neighbour came back home and Pusey made enquiries as to the whereabouts of the child. The neighbour told her at that time that she had no knowledge of the child's whereabouts and that she did not send for the baby. The four-month-old was Pusey's fourth child and she told THE STAR that she was tricked into handing over her child because her neighbour had taken out the baby on several occasions. She said she had no reason to doubt the woman's story. The stranger, she said, was of clear complexion and medium build and height. Pusey now says she doesn't know how she will survive and live without Annabelle. "Right now I am stressed out and don't know how I will cope," she said. She revealed that since Annabelle's disappearance, she has hardly slept or eaten and said she is having difficulties thinking straight because of the pressure. "I am feeling very sad and also deeply depressed as I don't know what they are doing to my child or her whereabouts. I can't believe people can be so wicked." The Spanish Town Police say that they are taking a special interest in the case and have started their investigation to find the missing infant. At least 10 children under 10 years old have gone missing since the start of the year in the St. Catherine North police division.

Luciano gig flops in Zimbabwe

The much anticipated performance by Jamaican reggae star Luciano ended in an anticlimax at City Sports Center in Harare this weekend, as the poorly attended and heavily politicised show offered very little relief to joy-starved Zimbabweans.

Luciano gave a brilliant performance, but before a half empty arena dominated by pickpockets, and revellers who were served warm beer as caterers said they only got contracts to run the bars in the evening. Everything seemed to go wrong with the performance.

"Luciano's political statements won him few fans amongst the neutrals that may have wanted to just go out and have fun," said fan Albert Mthembo.

"The obvious fact is that most reggae fans in the country are youths from the locations who can identify with its messages of social equality, and they could not afford the gate fee hence the poor attendance. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority who organised it poorly marketed the concert. The show was a flop," Mthembo added.

President Mugabe, Haille Selassie, he repeated, as he tried to appeal to the emotions of the crowd, which didnt seem to appreciate his efforts to praise the dictator, whose legacy ruined the show.

The event was poorly organised, and the venue turned out to be just wrong. Several people were mugged before they even got to the venue as they tried to walk through the dark streets from Kopje to Showground.

An estimated 2000 people attended the show at the 10 000 capacity City Sports Centre which ZTA boss Karikoga Kaseke had chosen in anticipation of a huge crowd. Some revellers returned home when they were told to park outside the Harare Agricultural Show grounds, some distance from the venue and prone to car thieves.

50 Cent demands royal treatment

50 Cent's demands for his latest tour include a KFC chicken bucket and a well-done, expensive fillet mignon steak. The hip-hop star gave an 1smile.gifage rider to each British concert venue he will be visiting, which also includes peanut butter, various jams, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, waffles and crepes. He also wants his food served to him on the finest china and the correct silverware as "presentation is VERY important" to the rap mogul. 50 is not the first star to make huge demands. Earlier this year, Justin Timberlake requested Beano anti-gas tablets to be flown over from the United States as part of his rider for the London leg of his 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' tour. He also demanded two dressing rooms, which had to be kept at a constant 22 degrees Celsius, and a continuous supply of Hershey chocolate bars. Sheryl Crow demanded a fleet of vehicles, including four buses, six cars and three tractor trailers, for her 'Stop Global Warming College Tour'.

Man smokes self to death

The Westmoreland district of Strathbogie was yesterday rattled by news of a man who rigged the exhaust apparatus of his motor car to suffocate himself. About 8:45 a.m. yesterday, a passer-by reportedly noticed that the engine of 45-year-old Aldred McBean's Honda motor car was running and a length of hose was sticking out of the exhaust pipe and through a window of the vehicle. Savanna-la-Mar investigators believe that McBean died of suffocation after he reportedly rigged the hose from the tailpipe of the car and stuffed it with paper so that the exhaust would flow through the hose. He then placed a large rock on the gas pedal and put the other end of the hose in his mouth. A man who gave his name as Froggy said that he saw McBean earlier that morning and McBean asked him to buy $500 worth of painkillers. This led the investigators to believe that McBean also overdosed himself with the tablets as part of his plan to ensure that the suicide was successful. The Gleaner also learnt that McBean attempted to kill his wife and himself two weeks ago by the ingestion of a poisonous substance. They were, however, taken to hospital where they were admitted. McBean was the holder of a licensed firearm but the police confiscated the weapon after the suicide attempt. Dispute with wife Neighbours said on Saturday night there was a heated argument between McBean and his wife. It is unclear what caused the dispute. McBean's apparent suicide follows the murder-suicide of three Westmorelanders earlier this month. On Saturday, November 3, the bodies of 41-year-old nurse, Carol Waldron, and her two daughters, aged 14 and three months, of Grange Hill, Westmoreland, were found inside a hotel room in Montego Bay, St. James. Waldron reportedly injected the children - Kadijah and Ashley Waldron - with a poisonous substance before taking her own life. The three victims were buried on Saturday.

An Indonesian man whose body is covered with extraordinary tree-like growths has spoken of his hope that an American doctor will cure his unique condition and help him rebuild his family life.

Dede, now 35, baffled medical experts when warty "roots" began growing out of his arms and feet after he cut his knee in a teenage accident.

Sacked from his job and deserted by his wife, Dede has been unable to look after his two children Entang and Utis, who are now aged 16 and 18.

They have been brought up apart from their farther by his extended family on the other side of their remote village south of the capital Jakarta.

With Dede's condition considered life threatening, he had resigned himself to missing out on the remaining joys of fatherhood.

But now a dermatology expert who flew out from the United States to examine his rare condition says that a course of synthetic Vitamin A should clear up most of the warts, and Dede is contemplating a transformed life.

"I can't work, I can't provide money," Dede said.

"I want to be able to take care of them [his children]. I hope to live long enough to see my grandchildren."

After testing samples of the lesions and Dede's blood, Dr Gaspari of the University of Maryland concluded that his affliction is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), a fairly common infection that usually causes small warts to develop on sufferers.

Beenie, Barbee to walk red carpet at AMA

keys_beenie_barbee.jpg

When the celebrities walk the red carpet to attend the America Music Awards on Sunday in California Beenie Man and Barbee will be among them.

Yardflex had a chat with the sultry singer and she was very excited about it.

"It's cool and I feel honoured going to the awards with her," Barbee gushed.

But that's not all the two will have their moment in the spotlight also as they have remixed Alicia Keys' red hot lead single "No One" from her just released album "As I Am."

The remix all came about because one of Alicia Keys' producers approached Barbee about the project and from what we hear of the single it is destined to be just as popular as its predecessor.

At Alicia Key's "As I Am" album launch held recently in New York, the remix of the lead single "No One" was played and Barbee could not be more pleased at the response. "It was crazy vibes at the party...they all loved it."

| Mavado threatens journalist Claude Mills

14-Nov-07 | by Claude Mills, Contributing Editor

I returned to the island on Sunday night only to get a phone call from a friend of mine that Mavado ah pree me. According to my friend, Mavado went to a stage show in Old Harbour where he went onstage and told the audience, anywhere mi see Claude Mills, mi a go box him down cause him ah mek man name ah call up inna suss on the Internet.

I dismissed Mavados rant as a case of bad judgment and misdirected anger, however, on Monday morning, I began to get a lot of phone calls from my peers in the industry who suggested I take the matter seriously. So in the afternoon, I called Julian Jones-Griffith, Mavados manager, who told me that he had not personally heard Mavados vow to page me, but that it was possible, given the controversial content of my website, One876Entertainment.com. He went on to say that he was not telling me how to write but he actually suggested that it would be conducive to my health to change the slant of what he called my biased writing. The jist of his argument was that: if you can write it, you have to stand up to the consequences because these modern day yutes no tek no check and so on and so on ad nauseum. They tend to not realize that One876Entertainment.com is made up of at least six experienced writers and I do not write all the articles.

I had a (thankfully) brief urge to utter a few choice expletives and dangling modifiers, but then figured whats the use, Julian obviously had not got the memo:  I cannot be intimidated. I refuse to be. I breathe after my own fashion. I write to amuse myself, if you dont like it, flip the page, close the browser, do whatever the £$% you want. I know I am. Nobody can tell me what to do. Just ask my former employers. In the words of the Gangsta Ras, mi do mi own ting.

I am not even going to get into the whole freedom of the press thing and blah-de-blah-blah but I will say this, when I was employed to The Gleaner, I wrote a lot of stories that ticked off an exciting and colourful hodge podge of characters during my wild ten years there. I have been threatened before by common thugs, organised crime figures, deejays, lesbians, bleached-face skettels, political activists, producers, and even publicists, even when I tried to follow the same journalistic standards of accuracy, objectivity, and balance as expected of all journalists.

Mavado is no different from any one of them. He may have a Billboard hit under his belt, loads of money and a large entourage of yes men at his disposal. And he may not like my curious mish-mash of shoot-from-the-hip, blurred-lines-between-news-and-gossip meta-journalism, but he can always just choose to do what most people, (especially hot girls) choose to do, ignore me. Mavado and I dont buy weed from the same supplier so it is unlikely that we will cross paths in the foreseeable future. But if we do, he needs to know that I fear no man. No harm no foul. No blood no spill. No nutten. I (along with the rest of the One876Entertainment.com staff) still like his music, especially that Gully Side song on the Airwave riddim, but if he wants to still page me, mi no gone noweh, Jamaica is a small place.

Peace.

It takes a strong man to bounce back after a tragedy, but an even stronger man is able to find the strength within himself to take to the stage after losing the one closest to his heart.

Not even a week after the passing of Dr. Donda West, mother of Kanye West, did Kanye find himself gathering enough strength to perform in France, Brussels and Amsterdam in his mothers honor. According to People magazine, Kanye took to the stage in Paris only to break down in tears when he attempted to perform Hey Mama in front of the sold out crowd.

Before he could get into the song, Kanye reportedly said this song is for my mother before losing his composure completely and bursting into tears on stage. A French newspaper, Le Parisien, also gave details on the dramatic events on stage.

"He said the word, 'Mother' and just couldn't go any further," Le Parisien reported. "A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing."

The crowd encouraged West to fight through the pain and they applauded his strength before Kanye left the stage to gather himself. He returned 15 minutes later to perform Stronger and belted out I Need You Right Now to the crowd which was much more than just a lyric to his song it was West pleading to his fans to give him strength.

Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire, who reported on the situation, called the performance magic.

West will continue performing in Brussels on Sunday night before attending his mothers funeral in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Afterwards, he will head back to Europe to perform in London on Thursday.

Tyre man rapes 7-y-o?

A tyre repairman who is accused of indecently assaulting a 7-year-old girl was remanded when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Ricardo Campbell of Newmarket district, St. Elizabeth, pleaded not guilty to the charge of indecent assault after it is alleged that he sexually molested the girl, then bought her cellphone credit, while her mother was away. It is alleged that on Sunday, November 11, the child's mother was at a funeral service in St. James when she received a distressed phone call from her daughter, begging her to come home. After questioning her daughter and making several phone calls to friends and relatives at home, she discovered that her daughter was allegedly molested by the accused. The mother told the court that when she arrived home that night she reported the matter to the Newmarket police. Campbell was arrested and charged. The mother also told the court that she examined her daughter and noticed swelling, and then took her to the hospital where she was examined by a doctor. The accused is booked to return to the Santa Cruz RM Court on December 5.

Web hoax led girl to kill herself

November 17, 2007

DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. - Megan Meier thought she had made a new friend in cyberspace when a cute teenage boy named Josh contacted her on MySpace and began exchanging messages with her.

Megan, a 13-year-old who suffered from depression and attention deficit disorder, corresponded with Josh for more than a month before he abruptly ended their friendship, telling her he had heard she was cruel.

The next day Megan committed suicide. Her family learned later that Josh never actually existed; he was created by members of a neighborhood family that included a former friend of Megan's.

Now Megan's parents hope the people who made the fraudulent profile on the social networking Web site will be prosecuted, and they are seeking legal changes to safeguard children on the Internet.

The girl's mother, Tina Meier, said she doesn't think anyone involved intended for her daughter to kill herself.

"But when adults are involved and continue to screw with a 13-year-old, with or without mental problems, it is absolutely vile," she told the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis, which first reported on the case.

Tina Meier said law enforcement officials told her the case did not fit into any law. But sheriff's officials have not closed the case and pledged to consider new evidence if it emerges.

Megan Meier hanged herself in her bedroom on Oct. 16, 2006, and died the next day. She was described as a "bubbly, goofy" girl who loved spending time with her friends, watching movies and fishing with her dad.

Megan had been on medication, but had been upbeat before her death, her mother said, after striking up a relationship on MySpace with Josh Evans about six weeks before her death.

Josh told her he was born in Florida and had recently moved to the nearby community of O'Fallon. He said he was homeschooled, and didn't yet have a phone number in the area to give her.

Megan's parents said she received a message from him on Oct. 15 of last year, essentially saying he didn't want to be her friend anymore, that he had heard she wasn't nice to her friends.

The next day, as Megan's mother headed out the door to take another daughter to the orthodontist, she knew Megan was upset about Internet messages. She asked Megan to log off. Users on MySpace must be at least 14, though Megan was not when she opened her account. A MySpace spokeswoman did not return calls seeking comment.

Someone using Josh's account was sending cruel messages. Then, Megan called her mother, saying electronic bulletins were being posted about her, saying things like, "Megan Meier is a slut. Megan Meier is fat."

Megan's mother, who monitored her daughter's online communications, returned home and said she was shocked at the vulgar language her own daughter was sending. She told her daughter how upset she was about it.

Megan ran upstairs, and her father, Ron, tried to tell her everything would be fine. About 20 minutes later, she was found in her bedroom. She died the next day.

Her father said he found a message the next day from Josh, which he said law enforcement authorities have not been able to retrieve. It told the girl she was a bad person and the world would be better without her, he has said.

Another parent, who learned of the MySpace account from her own daughter who had access to the Josh profile, told Megan's parents about the hoax in a counselor's office about six weeks after Megan died. That's when they learned Josh was imaginary, they said.

The woman who created the fake profile has not been charged with a crime. She allegedly told the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department she created Josh's profile because she wanted to gain Megan's confidence to know what Megan was saying about her own child online.

The mother from down the street told police that she, her daughter and another person all typed and monitored the communication between the fictitious boy and Megan.

A person who answered the door at the family's house told an Associated Press reporter on Friday afternoon that they had been advised not to comment.

Megan's parents had been storing a foosball table for the family that created the MySpace character. Six weeks after Megan's death, they learned the other family had created the profile and responded by destroying the foosball table, dumping it on the neighbors' driveway and encouraging them to move away.

Megan's parents are now separated and plan to divorce.

Aldermen in Dardenne Prairie, a community of about 7,000 residents about 35 miles from St. Louis, have proposed a new ordinance related to child endangerment and Internet harassment. It could come before city leaders on Wednesday.

"Is this enough?" Mayor Pam Fogarty said Friday. "No, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it's something, and you have to start somewhere."

50 Cent Asks: If Britney Spears Can Use The B-Word, Why Can't I?

'I guess they have their rules that apply individually to each artist,' MC says regarding censorship.

Obviously there's been so much controversy surrounding the N-word lately, but when it comes to the B-word, 50 Cent senses something of a double standard. The leader of the G-Unit, while on tour in London, quipped with a grin recently that nobody said anything about Britney Spears saying, "It's Britney, b*t*h," on the beginning of her first Blackout single, "Gimme More." Let a rapper try to say that at the beginning of his song, chances are he might get censored.

"I guess they have their rules that apply individually to each artist separately: 'Oh no, he can't say that, 'cause he feels like that about that person,' " he said. "But it's not a rule that applies to everybody else. Matter of fact, my next single, I'm going to start it [with], 'It's Britney, b*t*h!' "

50 just dropped his newest video, for "I Still Will." Don't think he's too excited about having to change the title for broadcast purposes.

"The real title is 'I'll Still Kill,' " he said defiantly, pointing out the name of the track as it appears on his Curtis LP.

"It's [renamed] 'I Still Will' for MTV," he added. "It's amazing because right after that [video plays], they'll have a group on TV called the Killers. There's always more pressure on hip-hop music. It's the stepchild of entertainment. ... In fact, my new project with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Donnie Wahlberg will be out April 12th called 'Righteous Kill.' Nobody has a problem with that, but 'I'll Still Kill' is the wrong title for a song. It's easier to fight one CD, one artist at a time - that's really what they're doing."

50 has been on tour overseas for about 25 dates and is only halfway done.

"The tour is great," he said. "I'm really enjoying myself. I've had to make some minor changes because I've been using a live band in parts, so it's a really different show [from] anything I've done before. I wanted to make sure it was a different show to what everyone has seen in the past. There's a lot more showmanship this time. I feel good about it. But as I change territories, I change the songs."

rihannahome-wedding_diary.jpg

Rihanna recently attended her cousin's Nigel wedding in Barbados and reports coming out on the internet is that she was asked to leave the wedding early!

According to media reports the trouble began almost as soon as Rihanna arrived. Reports from guests at the wedding claimed, "I was shocked when I saw what Rihanna was wearing. Every time she moved, her (breasts) looked like they were ready to come loose." The tipster added, "The bride comes from a very Christian family. Rihanna should have known better than to show up wearing such scandalous attire."

The story doesn't stop there. According to a number of eyewitnesses, Rihanna refused to eat the food offered to other guests. An insider explained that "She brought her own food and wouldn't touch anything else...Our food must not be good enough for a big star like her."

At one point in the evening, the bride's family decided that they'd had enough. As one family friend puts it, "Rihanna was taking away from the bride and groom's day so we thought it was best to ask her to leave. She understood and agreed."

But before leaving, one guest claims that Rihanna gave the family a piece of her mind. According to the insider, "She started arguing with her aunt and her mother...Even though they were in the back, you could hear Rihanna yelling at her mother." The insider added, "Her mother is a very easygoing woman, so she just stayed quiet and waited for Rihanna to calm down....If she were my daughter, someone would have had to call the police."

Teen raped all day!!!!!!!!!!!

November 15, 2007

The court is currently attempting to find out if an accused man is one of five persons who sexually molested a 15-year-old girl for close to an entire day after she went in search of her mom. The man, Everton Stewart of Kitson Town, St. Catherine, appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday and was remanded until November 30. He is charged with 13 counts of rape, one count of abduction, six counts of indecent assault, four counts of conspiracy, two counts of aiding and abetting rape, and four counts of aiding and abetting indecent assault. Investigating officer, Detective Corporal Kirk Roache, told the court that on November 3 of this year, the complainant went on the Internet and posted her pictures and that of her mother, who had left her in the hospital one week after she was born. The detective said that the young girl contacted the complainant, who told her that he knew somebody who had a similar name to the person she was looking for, and that they should meet in Bendom, Kitson Town. On the day in question, when the teenager turned up, she did not see the female. She, however, called and was told that a man would be coming to take her to her destination. The man came, picked her up and took her to Naseberry Grove. After they arrived at a location, he is said to have forced her to have all types of sex with him from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Four other men came and had their way with her. She was also forced to have anal and oral sex with her attackers. Eventaully, the young girl was reportedly taken back to the main road and released. The complainant is said to have gone to the Guanaboa Vale Police station to report the matter. A few days after the incident, it is reported that Stewart allegedly began calling the complainant and requesting a relationship, despite what happened. The child then contacted the police, who set up a sting operation. Stewart was allegedly invited to meet with the complainant in Spanish Town and was subsequently pointed out as the man who took her to the place, sexually assaulted her and kept on calling.

KEISHA VS SHARON

November 16, 2007
What caused beef between Keisha and Sharon?
16-Nov-07 |

What is the real deal behind the bitterness between Keisha Jaguar and Sharon Bell? There is a US$10,000 dollar reward for the arrest of Sharon Bell for the attempted murder of Keisha Jaguar. A lot of people have made snide remarks regarding Keisha Jaguar's posting "Wanted" bulletin on MySpace.com but there is apparently a lot of history between Keisha Jaguar and at least one of her alleged attackers, Sharon Bell.

Keisha_Jaguar.jpgBut why is Keisha Jaguar being so vindictive?

"I am sure if it was you who almost died, you would do everything in your power to make sure your attackers were brought to justice," a written statement by Jaguar said.

Keisha also expressed her appreciation to everyone who supported her through this horrible ordeal. She's also asking for everyone assistance in locating Sharon Bell.

It is one thing to steal materialistic things but it all together a different thing to try and steal one's life! Jaguar said.

The history of the relationship between the two is a turbulent one with more intrigue than an episode of Days of Our Lives, marked by betrayal, bling and finally blood. Both Keisha Jaguar and Sharon Bell reside in Philadelphia and they had been friends for 2-3 years and even formed a dancehall crew called Baby Doll Crew which was a very popular crew back in the early 2000's.

One876Entertainment.com's investigations turned up a few things in the past between the two. Keisha Jaguar gave us this information:
There were a few things that led up to the termination of our friendship. One was the time Sharon was trying to help me locate a dress so that I could attend Dougie Platinum "Oscar Awards" theme party in NYC. The whole time Sharon was helping me look for the dress she knew she had already took the dress from my closet and returned it for store credit at the Versace store in King Prussia Mall.

Sharon_Bell.jpgI discovered this a few weeks later when I went shopping in the Versace store and the sales clerk who was familiar with her inquired as to why I sent my friend Sharon to return the dress. Another incident that caused more strain to our friendship was when Sharon was caught stealing at Bloomingdales and when asked what her name was she gave them my name as her own. I then discover this hidden secret when the PA Sheriff came to my job to arrest her. If it were not for the pictures that Bloomingdales took of Sharon, I would surely have been arrested.

SHARON, A PANTY THIEF?
The last straw came when Sharon stole my panties from my home. Sharon was caught red handed when the bag full of panties fell from underneath her coat. That's when I had enough of being friends with Sharon. The end of this friendship would lead to 3 1/2 years of bitterness; Sharon destroying my property and that led me to get a restraining order against Sharon. On September 8, 2007 things would reach a boiling point between them. I was leaving an annual cook-out at Moonlight Restaurant in Philadephia to attend Get Fresh Crew "80's wear" theme party in Brooklyn, NY when I was suddenly attacked from behind by Sharon Bell, Suzette Jackson and Tasha Mathis. During the fight some patrons could be heard cheering Sharon, Tasha and Suzette in the hideous attack. By the time the fight was over I had sustained life threatening injuries all of which was caught on video. This video was handed over to Philadelphia Police Department. There was a huge outcry of support and prayers for me as I fought for my life. Since being released from the hospital, two of my attackers have been arrested but Sharon Bell is still on the run.

Efforts to get the views from Sharon Bells side of the story proved futile. But we would welcome any information that would help to understand what might have motivated her actions.

| Bronx's Skerrit Bwoy comes to Jamaica
16-Nov-07 |

If you have yet to visit the Bronx, don't worry because the voice of the Bronx is well on its way to Jamaica, Saturday November 24th for radio diva Nikki Z birthday bash. "Short, black, an' ugly" is how he introduces himself. Awarded Bronx #1 selector for 2005 & 2006, SKERRIT BWOY a.k.a. MR. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE exploded on the international dancehall scene in 1999, with his sound system GHETTO LIFE. Celebrated for his maniacal, competitive style, and supercharged comical juggling, this likkle bwoy is one of the most loved in the business.

Skerrit_Bwoy.jpgOriginally from St. Johns, Antigua, the youngster migrated to Bronx, New York in the mid 1990's. Clubbing at a very young age, and hanging out on Creston Avenue, it did not take him long to fit into the fast pace life of the city. "I remember listening to Ricky Trooper on Killaman Jaro sound and saying to myself... Yo! That's gonna be me! I used to ride my bike to Moodies Records on 225th Street, all the way from 183rd, just to buy three records a week...cause those days I was just getting a weekly US$10 allowance."

His father Shats Man, pleased with the course his son was taking, encouraged him by purchasing club equipment, and dub plates. In December 2000, the "likkle bwoy dem," consisting of Skerrit Bwoy, Robbie Steele and Jr. Dread, reigned supreme in the Bronx Youth Clash. Wining the title, and have continued to prevail ever since. This was only the first of many more trophies that will be placed on the Ghetto Life mantle in years to come.

Skerrit spoke of his motivation to continue and excel in the sound business, saying, "Trying to change a person's, even your brother's, view about what life can be is an almost impossible task. Now picture trying to change the views of hundreds, or thousands of people you never met in a few hours. That's my job! I take the people that I deejay, dance, sing, and shed sweat for, out of their every day stress. I want to take dem to a place of bliss, a place of ecstasy. When I entertain, I don't want no one to think 'bout their bills, or their job, or their troubles. I'm gonna have you laughing, singing, dancing, and shedding as much sweat as myself. It's such a good feeling to finish a show, walk outside and hear people on their cell phones saying what a good time they've had, imitating my moves, or just shaking my hand. It gives me a sense of accomplishment."

This pride in his art is a special winning quality of Skerrit's, and coupled with his vibrant animated spirit, it has led him to being very much in demand these days. He has been featured in a wide array of media. Among some of these are: the Japanese video game "SWAGGER" as the main character. As a model in the Jamaican Street magazine, Back a Yard (Issue 6). Such DVDs as: Who is Baddest on the Dance Floor: Vol. 1 (Japan), I.R.T. Riddimz (New York), & Lyric DVD Magazine (Canada) & much more. Skerrit Bwoy also released his documentary, "Temporary Sanity" a Dan Brunn film, at the 10th Annual RAI Film Festival in England. Earning five-star reviews. So whats in store for Jamaica Saturday November 24?

Check him out on www.myspace.com/SKERRITBWOY and see what the hype is all about.

Jah Cure and Tanya Stephens rock Bahamas in 'MC7' concert
16-Nov-07 |

Jah Cure  delivered a brilliant marquis performance to close the Millennium Countdown 7 show in The Bahamas on November 10. He blew away the Bahamians after-storm blues occasioned by Tropical Storm Noel which had threatened the island. The Bahamian  girls hung on his every word and screamed as he crooned his huge hits in a tight, beautifully orchestrated set that underlined his status as the big man in the business.

Tanya_Stephens.jpgHitting the stage at about 3: 00 a.m., he told the 8,000 strong audience that this the moment that he had been waiting for. The girls screamed their delight. He could do no wrong and he thrilled with favourites such as Nuh Build Great Man, Concrete Jungle and the soulful Jah Jah Bless Me.

He kept the banter in between songs to a bare minimum, and the crowd regarded his every move with almost iconic awe. The girls, in particular, were almost rabid in their desire for Jah Cure. During a break in his set, he gave a girl a half-finished bottle of water he had been sipping from, and four other girls grabbed it from her hand, spilling the water on their clothes, but they didnt seem to mind. And when he took off his jacket to reveal an all-white outfit, the screams reached deafening pitch.

Jah Cure closed his set with arguably his strongest songs, the sweet Love Is and True Reflections. He really blew away the Bahamians' after-storm blues. Earlier, Tanya Stephens, looking sexy in a red top and skin tight blue jeans blew away patrons with her witty banter in-between songs and her brilliant catalogue of hit songs such as These Streets, Its a Pity and What a Day. She was earthy when she had to be, giving her colourful take on the dynamic of male-female relationships and formerly tabooed practices such as oral sex.

High rollers such as Father Dozer, Reggae All Star promoter Ally Cole, Flowers' son, multi-millionaire Peter Nygard attended the event.

The show was produced by Downsound Records and Sigma.
