1. Open a new drawing. (1024x768). Fill with Gradient Fill. You can use a light and dark shade of blue, or like here, I used blue and pink to give it a sunset look.
2. Create a new layer. Switch back to default colors (black and white), and then select Filter> Render> Clouds.
3. With your cloud layer still selected, change the 'Normal' to 'Screen' in the drop-down box in the Layers palette.
4. If you want, you can resize the image to give it a panoramic look. Image> Image Size> I doubled the width and left the height the same.
5. Erase most of the lower portion of the cloud layer.
6. Here I just used the Pencil tool with a dark brown shade to draw a rough outline of mountains
7. Use the Bucket Fill to fill in the mountains.
8. I added a couple of small details to the mountain.
9. Finally, to make the sun, Filter> Render> Lens Flare. Here I used the 50-300mm with 140% brightness.

Barack Obama swept Hillary Clinton in Yesterday's (Feb. 12) "Potomac Primary;" beating the New York Senator in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland primaries by 20 points or more and bringing his winning streak to 8-0 since Super Tuesday.
According to New York's Daily News, most troubling for Clinton is her declining performance among constituencies where she's previously been strong. Obama beat Clinton among voters who earn less than $50,000 a year in yesterday's primaries and CNN exit polls showed Latino voters have also warmed to Obama, with 53% of their vote going to the Illinois Senator in the Virginia primary and 45% going to him in the Maryland contest.
Rather than stick around the D.C. area, Clinton moved on to El Paso, Texas last night in anticipation of the March 4th Texas primary. Addressing a crowd of 12,000 at the University of Texas, Hillary Clinton did not mention her losses in the Potomac primaries and also failed, for the second time, to congratulate Obama on his wins.
"We are going to sweep across Texas in the next three weeks, bringing our message of what we need in America," Clinton told her audience. "I'm tested, I'm ready, let's make it happen.
Afterwards Clinton held a private fund-raiser to help re-fuel her campaign.
Barack Obama celebrated his victories last night in front of an audience of 18,000 in Wisconsin, where Democrats hold their primary next Tuesday. He has been endorsed by WI governor Jim Doyle.
"Next Tuesday here in Wisconsin, we are going to make it nine straight elections," Doyle has predicted. Several WI polls currently show Obama ahead of Clinton by between 4 and 11 points.
In related news, last Friday Belize elected their first black prime minister, former foreign minister Dean Barrow - who is also the father of Brooklyn rapper Shyne.
According to Reuters, Barrow swept incumbent Prime Minister Said Musa, with his United Democratic Party or UDP, winning 25 of 31 constituencies against six for Musa. The election was the third defeat in 50 years for Musa's People's United Party, or PUP, which has dominated politics in the Central American country.
"It's a great feeling. I'm extremely grateful and humbled," Barrow told Reuters.
Much like Barack Obama's campaign for change, Barrow ran on a platform of ridding Belize of the embezzlement scandals and financial mismanagement that marred Musa's cabinet.

Keys is stil slated to reach triple platinum by next week. Mary J Blige holds strong in the top ten, still slipping down one spot to #7 while the Step Up 2 Soundtrack [which includes Flo Rida's commerical smash hit "Low'] debuted at #13 selling 32k.

A POLICE force has sent Valentine's cards to 160 bail dodgers in a bid to encourage them to hand themselves in.
West Mercia Constabulary sent the red cards to those wanted on warrant for not appearing in court or not paying fines.
The card features the rhyme roses are red, violets are blue, we cant wait to get our hands on you.
Officers will also be visiting their homes and escorting those offenders found straight to court.
Chief Inspector Garry Higgins, from the West Mercia Local Criminal Justice Board, said: The message to offenders is if you have failed to turn up at court, time is running out.
"Give yourself up before you get a visit from the police.
Shooting at U.S. university
A GUNMAN has opened fire in a classroom at Northern Illinois University outside Chicago.
At least 18 people were shot by a man armed with a shotgun and pistol, local media have reported.
A hospital near the campus said it expected to receive up to 15 people wounded in the incident.
A posting on the university's website said "the gunman is no longer a threat".
He is believed to be either in custody or dead.
One student told local radio that roughly 140 students were in a geology classroom when the man opened fire.
Another student said he was sitting in the class taking notes when the gunman entered from behind a curtain, firing a shotgun.
"He was just shooting, and people were screaming."
The 25,000-student campus, 65 miles west of downtown Chicago, has been shut down and classes cancelled.

Hmm, exactly what would life be like without black people? For those who want to belittle the contribution of blacks then this humorous story should be an eye opener...read and learn!
A group of people was fed up with African Americans, so they joined together and wished themselves away.
They passed through a deep dark tunnel and emerged in sort of a twilight zone where there is an America without black people.
At first these people breathed a sigh of relief. At last, they said, No more crime, drugs, violence and welfare.
All of the blacks have gone! Then suddenly, reality set in. The "NEW AMERICA" is not America at all-only a barren land.
1. There are very few crops that have flourished because the nation was built on a slave-supported system.
2. There are no cities with tall skyscrapers because Alexander Miles, a black man, invented the elevator, and without it, one finds great difficulty reaching higher floors.
3. There are few if any cars because Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, Joseph Gambol, also black, invented the Super Charge System for Internal Combustion Engines, and Garrett A. Morgan, a black man, invented the traffic signals.
4. Furthermore, one could not use the rapid transit system because its procurer was the electric trolley, which was invented by another black man, Albert R. Robinson.
5. Even if there were streets on which cars and a rapid transit system could operate, they were cl**ttered with paper because an African American, Charles Brooks, invented the street sweeper.
6. There were few if any newspapers, magazines and books because John Love invented the pencil sharpener, William Purveys invented the fountain pen, and Lee Barrage invented the Type Writing Machine and W. A. Love invented the Advanced Printing Press. They were all, you guessed it, Black.
7. Even if Americans could write their letters, articles and books, they would not have been transported by mail because William Barry invented the Postmarking and Canceling Machine, William Purveys invented the Hand Stamp and Philip Downing invented the Letter Drop.
8. The lawns were brown and wilted because Joseph Smith invented the Lawn Sprinkler and John Burr the Lawn Mower.
9. When they entered their homes, they found them to be poorly ventilated and poorly heated. You see, Frederick Jones invented the Air Conditioner and Alice Parker the Heating Furnace. Their homes were also dim. But of course, Lewis Lattimer later invented the Electric Lamp, Michael Harvey invented the lantern and Granville T. Woods invented the Automatic Cut off Switch. Their homes were also filthy because Thomas W. Steward invented the Mop and Lloyd P. Ray the Dust Pan.
10. Their children met them at the door-barefooted, shabby, motley and unkempt. But what could one expect? Jan E. Matzelinger invented the Shoe Lasting Machine, Walter Sammons! invented the Comb, Sarah Boone invented the Ironing Board and George T. Samon invented the Clothes Dryer.
11. Finally, they were resigned to at least have dinner amidst all of this turmoil. But here again, the food had spoiled because another Black Man, John Standard invented the refrigerator.
Now, isn't that something? What would this country be like without the contributions of Blacks, as African-Americans?

Portmore is a coastal city in southern Jamaica in Saint Catherine, southwest of Kingston. It is located at around .
With a population close to 175,000 (unverified), Portmore began as a large area for schematic residential development in the late 1960s, as the WIHCON organization built thousands of prototype housing units in an effort to alleviate the over-population of Kingston. It has since grown as a suburban city to Kingston, as its large population travels via the Causeway Bridge into Kingston daily, for work, schooling, and many other essential services. Portmore was granted Municipality status recently, and has its own City Council and Mayor, following the British-based model of other Jamaican cities' governments. While Portmore is not marketed as a tourist destination for the millions of incoming travellers to Jamaica every year, there are many places for entertainment, eating, relaxing and enjoyment.
US Congress honours Jamaican-born pilot |
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 |
JAMAICAN-BORN Barrington Irving was yesterday presented with a resolution by the United States Congress, in recognition of his feat in becoming the youngest and first black pilot to fly solo around the globe.

The resolution was passed unanimously by Congress in December, several months after Irving completed his 27-day 26,800-mile flight in June. The resolution encourages initiatives like Irving's non-profit organisation, Experience Aviation, which encourages underprivileged youths to seek careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
"Barrington Irving is one of the greatest young heroes of our time," said Representative Alcee L Hastings.
"When the younger generation is looking for a role model and hero, they need to look no further than Barrington Irving," added Representative Kendrick Meek. "This young pilot proved that when you dream big dreams and work hard, the extraordinary is possible."
Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in innercity Miami, Irving said his motivation behind the flight was to inspire innercity and minority youths to pursue their dreams in life, no matter their current circumstances.
He is now offering hands-on educational programmes for students at his Experience Aviation Learning Centre in Miami.
Murder convict Donald 'Zeeks' Phipps is scheduled to appear before the Court of Appeal later this month to apply for bail, pending the hearing of his plea against his conviction and life sentence in 2006.
The bail application for the reputed Matthews Lane strongman is set for hearing on February 19. A date for the murder appeal is not yet scheduled.
Phipps was convicted on April 12, 2006 for the murders of Rodney Leroy Farquharson and Dayton Williams, of Bayshore Park in Eastern Kingston. He was sentenced to life on May 30 of that year and ordered to spend 30 years behind bars before being considered for parole.
The burnt remains of the men, with gunshot wounds to the heads, were found in an open lot along Rose Lane, Downtown Kingston on April 15, 2005.
Phipps said in his appeal that his trial was unfair and amounted to an abuse of process of the court and that there were actions in the case that amounted to a deliberate violation of his rights as an accused, among other things.
According to a report in todays edition of The Times-Picayune, Corey C-Murder Miller will in fact still stand trial for the shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas on January 12, 2002.
Yesterday, the judge presiding over the 36-year-old rappers case denied a request made by Millers lawyer, Ron Rakosky, to throw out the charge. The defenses motion, filed in December of 2006, stated that the prosecution presented witnesses to the grand jury (who indicted Miller in February 2002 for second-degree murder) who knew nothing about Thomas murder, and whose testimony was in the defenses opinion presented "for no purpose other than to poison the deliberations of the grand jury.
In a brief hearing on Monday 24th Judicial District Court Judge Martha Sassone quickly dismissed that suggestion by denying the motion.
"What are we doing today?" Sassone asked the attorneys in the case. Assistant District Attorney David Wolff named the three defense motions, to toss out the indictment and to suppress evidence and witness identifications of Miller.
"All those will be denied," Sassone said bluntly, offering no elaboration. "What's next?"
Rakosky objected, but Jefferson Parrish prosecutors defended their indictment of his client by arguing that Rakoskys claims of jury poisoning were not grounded in Louisianas code of criminal procedure. Rakosky alleged in his motion to quash the indictment that the five witnesses presented to the grand jury testified about the August 2001 incident at Club Raggs in Baton Rouge (in which Miller is awaiting trial on charges of trying to shoot a nightclub owner and a security officer), and not the shooting of Thomas. Rakosky also argued that prosecutors failed to share information with the grand jury that would have been favorable to Miller, including the inconsistency of some of the witnesses testimony.
In one of the three defense motions that was denied yesterday, Rakosky unsuccessfully attempted to bar from trial items seized in April 2002 from Millers jail cell at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, along with clothing recovered from an apartment in Harvey, Louisiana that is believed to have been worn by
Miller the night Thomas was murdered.
In another one of the three failed defense motions, Rakosky challenged the means by which detectives got witnesses to identify Miller in photographs.
Miller was originally convicted in September 2003 for the slaying of Thomas, but Sassone granted a defense request for a new trial months later on grounds that prosecutors at the time improperly withheld from the defense attorneys criminal background information on three state witnesses. The Louisiana State Supreme Court upheld that ruling in March 2006, allowing for this retrial.
C-Murders new trial is set to begin June 9th. If convicted he faces a mandatory life sentence. He is currently under house arrest as a condition of his half-a-million dollar bond.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates suffered a fractured shoulder after slipping on ice Tuesday night at his Washington home, the Pentagon said.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates will perform his duties while being treated for a fractured shoulder.
Gates, 64, didn't seek treatment until Wednesday morning when he checked into Walter Reed Army Medical Center, said Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell.
"I think he's in a lot of pain," Morrell said.
Gates apparently slipped as he returned from dinner, he said.
Gates will continue to perform his duties as defense chief, Pentagon officials said.
Gates won't be able to appear Wednesday for a hearing on the Pentagon's budget before the House Appropriations Committee. Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England will testify in his place.
A ice storm hit the Washington area Tuesday, snarling traffic and preventing some voters from casting ballots in the presidential primaries in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland.http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=73747

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- Broward County is the latest local government to provide civil rights protections to transgender residents.
County commissioners voted unanimously yesterday to add "gender identity" and pregnancy to a list of protected classes in Broward's anti-discrimination laws. That means it's now illegal to deny housing or jobs to transgender or pregnant residents. They are also protected from discrimination in public venues such as hospitals or restaurants.
Miami-Dade County officials passed a similar measure last month.
Critics say those protections are unnecessary and argue that it's wrong for people to try to redefine gender.
A lawsuit filed last week over warrantless searches of laptops and other electronic devices at U.S. borders highlights an issue that all travelers, U.S. citizens and others, need to be aware of when entering the country, according to the executive director of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE).
The suit was filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the Asian Law Caucus, two California-based civil rights groups. It asks the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to disclose information on its policies for inspecting the contents of laptops and other electronic devices at the country's ports of entry.
The lawsuit was prompted by what the two groups contended were the growing number of reports they were receiving from travelers who claimed to have been subjected to such searches. In most instances, the searches were conducted without apparent reason and with no details offered on what information might have been viewed or downloaded by customs officials, the suit alleged.
Susan Gurley, executive director of the Alexandria, Va.-based ACTE, said that international travelers need to be aware of and prepared for such border searches, even though they are relatively rare. This is especially true because so far little is known about the DHS's policies relating to the practice and what it does with the information collected during searches of electronic devices, she said.
"We think people should know that they basically are leaving their right to privacy at the door when they cross the U.S. border. There is no assumption of privacy [at a port of entry].
said Gurley.
"This is by far not an epidemic of any sort," Gurley said. "But we think people should know that they basically are leaving their right to privacy at the door when they cross the U.S. border. There is no assumption of privacy," at a port of entry, she said. Here are five factors Gurley says travelers should know about:
1. No evidence needed to take your laptop
Border agents do not need any evidence or suspicion of illegal activity to examine a laptop or other electronic device.
Every time you cross the border, customs officials have the right to look at anything in your possession, including the content on your laptop, handheld device, cell phone, USB memory stick and digital cameras, Gurley said. They have the right to both view that information and to download or mirror it if they think it's necessary, she said.
2. Anything can be searched
Everything on an electronic device is open to search. This includes personal photographs, personal banking, any business documents and stored or unopened e-mail, Gurley said.
3. Your PC might not be returned right away
Seized devices may be kept for an indefinite period of time. Carry only a laptop or electronic device you can afford to lose or hand over for an unspecified period of time.
Sensitive data should be sent by e-mail before crossing the border in case the data becomes unavailable if the device is seized, she said.
4. Don't take anything you don't want to share
Don't carry anything on these devices that could potentially embarra** you or that you don't want others to see, Gurley said.
If it's information you don't want to share, don't carry it. That includes data such as personal banking information, photos, correspondence, health and password information. If the device is a company-owned computer, don't carry proprietary business information or personnel records on it, the ACTE advised.
5. Be cooperative
Cooperate with customs officials. Ask for a receipt and a badge number if your computer is seized. Try and get whatever information you can on the reason why it was seized.
The goal is not to hide data from border officials or the U.S government, Gurley said. Rather, it is about being aware that your laptop and other electronic devices in your possession could be searched and to prepare for that eventuality, Gurley said. ACTE's surveys in the past have shown that very few travelers are aware of the potential for such searches. "Our primary concern is to alert travelers that their laptops and other electronic devices can be seized at a border without explanation, provocation or even likely cause," she said.
The lawsuit and the advice come at a time when U.S courts have sent mixed messages on the constitutionality of such searches. In one case, the Appeals Court for the Ninth Circuit ruled that at a minimum, customs officials needed to have reasonable cause for conducting such searches. In another case, an appeals court ruled that such searches can be conducted without a warrant or reasonable cause. Both cases involved child pornography.
Microsoft released 11 security updates today that fix critical flaws in its products, including a publicly known ActiveX bug that affects users of the Visual FoxPro database.
In total, 17 individual software flaws were patched in the updates. Microsoft rates six updates as critical, meaning they should be installed as soon as possible, while the remaining five updates are considered "important." Last month was an easier month on IT administrators, when Microsoft released just two updates.
Microsoft surprised some by releasing one less update than expected. Last Thursday the software vendor had said that it was readying a fix for critical VBScript and JScript flaws in Windows 2000, XP, and Windows Server 2003. That update wasn't included in this week's patches, but Microsoft today wouldn't confirm that it had actually dropped the update because "this could put customers at risk," according a spokeswoman for the company's public relations agency.
Security experts said Tuesday that the MS08-010 update, which fixes four bugs in Internet Explorer, should take top priority this week. "There are four vulnerabilities within that particular patch and all of them are remote-code executable," said Jonathan Bitle, director of technical account management with Qualys.
"The way we're looking at it, our prioritization would put MS08-010 at the top followed by MS08-007," said Don Leatham, director of solutions and strategy with Lumension Security.
MS08-010 fixes a publicly disclosed ActiveX bug that affects Visual FoxPro users. Although hackers have already posted code showing how to exploit this vulnerability, the buggy ActiveX control is not included in Internet Explorer 7's default list of controls, so the flaw should not affect most users.
The MS08-007 update fixes a critical flaw in the Windows XP and Vista WebDAV redirector software. WebDAV is a Web-based document sharing protocol. The flaw is rated important for Windows Server 2003 users.
Microsoft's Office products are also a major source of patches this month.
Tuesday's updates include critical fixes for Microsoft Word, Office Publisher and in Office itself.
There is also a critical update for Windows' Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) Automation software.
The remaining updates, rated important, are for Active Directory, the Vista TCP/IP stack, the Microsoft Works file converter and two bugs in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Web server.
The Patch Tuesday updates show that client-side bugs continue to be a much higher risk than server-side vulnerabilities, said Andrew Storms, director of security operations with nCircle. "One would have assumed that the IIS and Active Directory vulnerabilities would have been the most serious because they stand at the core of an enterprise and provide more critical services" he said via instant message. "But with this month's patches, the hacker's best bet is to take advantage of the client-side attacks."
Tired of bearing the burden of extortion and the brutality of gangsters, route taxi drivers in Spanish Town say they will withdraw their service this morning to draw attention to their plight and in the hope that the authorities will act against the extortionists.
The drivers say they are being pressured and sometimes beaten by extortionists who operate near the Spanish Town Market at Young Street in the old capital.
"Dem walk with pick axe sticks and sometimes all eight of them beat you if you refuse to pay. Dem box up drivers, grab keys out of vehicles and make unreasonable demands. We can't take it no more," one taxi driver, who asked not be named, told the Observer yesterday.
"Don't care how old the driver is, you still get box and you eye fat up. Them throw all dirty water inside your car," the driver added.
The drivers say they pay two extortion fees daily to persons representing the rival One Order and Clansman gangs who operate at the market and the municipal bus park, respectively.
"It was $100 for extortion, but since December it raise to $150 at the bus park and we still pay $100 at the market," the driver said.
Extortion has long been identified by the police in Spanish Town as a multi-million dollar racket. The police have made repeated calls for persons who are being extorted to provide them with evidence.
But the drivers accuse the police of colluding with the extortionists.
"Don't care how near the police is, when the man a do dem ting, dem (the police), not doing nothing. Sometime the man dem switch off your car and say them impound yu vehicle and them same police friend get wrecker and tow it away," the driver alleged.
This morning's strike is expected to displace thousands of persons who commute between communities on the outskirts of Spanish Town.
Yesterday, Superintendent Terrence Bent, head of the St Catherine North police division, said the police were aware of the planned strike and had put in place measures to deal with any problems.

Gunmen yesterday morning opened fire on a taxi in Clarendon killing one woman and injuring the driver and a female passenger as they were travelling towards May Pen.
Dead is 44-year-old Jocelyn Thomas of Palmetto Pen, in Clarendon. Police reports are that shortly after six o clock yesterday, the three persons were on board a taxi which operates from Longsville Park to May Pen when a man signalled the driver to stop the car. The driver, however, refused and was fired on by the man and another person who came from the bushes. All three persons were hit. They were taken to the May Pen Hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead while the driver and the other passenger were admitted in serious condition.
