Take Down Records CEO Alton "Ace Capone" Coles faces life in prison, after a jury found him guilty of using his label as a front to distribute millions of dollars worth of cocaine throughout Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey and Delaware.
A jury found Coles, 34 and co-defendant Timothy "Tim Gotti Baukman, 32, guilty of RICO charges, including running a $25 million dollar continuing criminal enterprise, as well as conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the pair were also found guilty of 123 charges ranging from drug trafficking, wire fraud and weapons violations.
Coles, who remained calm throughout the six-week trial, claimed that he earned hundreds of thousands of dollars selling his infamous New Jack City 2: The New Generation, which was used against him in court.
Coles maintained that he DVD, which portrayed a record labels ruthless rise to the top of the Philadelphia drug trade, was a fictional portrayal of a drug gang and was only meant to sell copies of his record labels music, which included a hit single titled "Scratching and Surviving," which featured Bugsy, Snake and Freeway.
Coles also claimed that he earned money through his record label and numerous promotions throughout the city, including an event with Mayor John Street, various Live 8 after parties and a sold out concert at The Spectrum featuring Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel and rappers on the Take Down Records Roster.
"It launched me offit let Philadelphia know we were legit, we were serious and it made a lot of money," Coles testified.
Coles admitted to dealing kilos of "cut," a legal chemical agent known on the streets as "fishscale."
Drug dealers add the chemical to their pure cocaine in order to boost profits.
Coles admitted to dealing cut out of his Chester, Pennsylvania barbershop, but denied selling cocaine.
During one raid of his barbershop, police found the agent and believed it was cocaine.
The charges were later dropped, after test lab results confirmed that is was not cocaine.
Prosecutors denied Coles claims and presented the jury evidence based on 300 wiretapped conversations, as well as contraband seized during August 2005 raids of apartments and houses, which netted over $800,000 in cash and numerous assault weapons.
Prosecutors also produced two drug dealers who are facing federal prison time.
The pair testified that Coles was capable of moving multiple kilos at a time.
Additionally a language expert claimed that Coles coded talk was referencing cocaine, while Coles defense maintained his client was referring to the cutting agent.
Four other defendants were convicted on other, lesser drug charges.

They're the latest and the greatest next generation of cars that you may be driving someday. But you can see them now. The Geneva Auto Show began Tuesday with a display of the usual new and improved vehicles you'll be seeing in showrooms in the coming months or years.
But as always, the real stars of this show were the curiosity factors - the kind of futuristic Jetson's-looking contraptions that capture the eye as well as the imagination.
Nissan unveiled the next generation of its futuristic bubble car, called the Pivo2. It's powered by an electric lithium ion battery and is designed not to need any gas at all.
Then there's the petrol-powered but Back-to-The-Future-styled Phantom coupe, whose most outstanding feature is its hinged doors. It boasts a 453-horsepower, a V-12 engine and the kind of price tag you'd expect from an exclusive product made by Rolls Royce.
But perhaps the biggest car star of all is one that may never actually hit the road and has been in development for years. It's called the Lifecar, and it has the backing of the British government and a number of universities.
What's so special about this vehicle? It's billed as a 'zero emission' automobile, and is totally powered by hydrogen fuel cells. There have been others that used similar power sources before, but its backers claim this is the first true sports car of its kind, and its sleek lines make it instantly attractive.
It can go up to 400 kilometres per tank of hydrogen, and can hit 0-100 kilometres in about seven seconds. Its top speed: about 145 km/h, not quite as fast as some of its high powered gasoline counterparts, but enough to get you a speeding ticket on the highway.
The entire car is designed to be as efficient as possible. Its chassis is made entirely of aluminum and the interior seats are built of wood to reduce weight.
What runs it? The hydrogen cells c****ine with oxygen from the air outside to cause an electro-chemical reaction. That not only allows the car to move at a good clip, it has a side - or in this case, a rear - benefit. The only thing that comes out of its tailpipe is water vapour. And the batteries recharge themselves every time you hit the brakes.
While the firm that created the vehicle, Morgan Motor Company, believes this concept car could one day be made into a viable product, some critics don't agree. They point out the cost of hydrogen is high and the electricity needed to produce the cells themselves is hardly environmentally friendly.
But for most people the real impediment will be the cost. It takes a lot of green to be this green. If it were to hit the market today, the Lifecar would sell for a whopping Cdn$235,600.
At that price it would really help the environment because you'd be afraid to take it out of your garage.
Because of their portability, laptops are particularly vulnerable |
Scientists have shown that it is possible to recover the key that unscrambles data from a PC's memory.
It was previously thought that data held in so-called "volatile memory" was only retained for a few seconds after the machine was switched off.
But the team found that data including encryption keys could be held and retrieved for up to several minutes.
"It was widely believed that when you cut the power to the computer that the information in the volatile memory would disappear, and what we found was that was not the case," Professor Edward Felten of the University of Princeton told BBC World Service's Digital Planet programme.
Volatile memory is typically used in random access memory (RAM), which is used as temporary storage for programs and data when the computer is switched on.
Deep sleep
Disc encryption is the main method by which companies and governments protect sensitive information.
"The key to making it work is to keep the encryption key secret," explained Professor Felten.
Encryption has recently become a hot topic after a number of laptops containing personal records were lost or stolen.
Simply locking your screen or switching to 'suspend' or 'hibernate' mode will not provide adequate protection Edward Felten
"What we have found was that the encryption keys needed to access these encrypted files were available in the memory of laptops," he said.
"The information was available for seconds or minutes."
In theory, this is enough time for a hacker or attacker to retrieve the key from the memory chips.
"The real worry is that someone will get hold of your laptop either while it is turned on or while it is in sleeping or hibernation mode," said Professor Felten.
In these modes the laptop is not running, but information is still stored in RAM to allow it to "wake up" quickly.
"The person will get the laptop, cut the power and then re-attach the power, and by doing that will get access to the contents of memory - including the critical encryption keys."
Cool running
Switching the machine off and on and is critical to any attack.
"When it comes out of sleep mode the operating system is there and it is trying to protect this data," explained Professor Felten.
But a full power-down followed by a swift re-start removes this protection.
"By cutting the power and then bringing it back, the adversary can get rid of the operating system and get access directly to the memory."
Professor Felten and his team found that cooling the laptop enhanced the retention of data in memory chips.
"The information stays in the memory for much longer - 10 minutes or more," he said.
For example, where information stays in a computer for around 15 seconds under normal conditions, a laptop cooled to about -50C will keep information in its memory for 10 minutes or more.
Professor Felten said that the best way to protect a computer was to shut it down fully several minutes before going into any situation in which the machine's physical security could be compromised.
"Simply locking your screen or switching to 'suspend' or 'hibernate' mode will not provide adequate protection," he added.
"It does cast some doubt on the value of encryption. I think that over time the encryption products will adapt to this and they will find new ways of protecting information."
Mr Bush is pushing Israeli and Palestinian leaders to resume talks |
He said there was "plenty of time to get a deal done" in the 10 months left.
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas broke off contacts with Israel at the weekend after its recent military offensive in Gaza killed more than 120 Palestinians.
Shortly after Mr Bush spoke, Israeli tanks entered Gaza, sparking clashes that killed a one-month-old baby girl.
Witnesses said Palestinian militants exchanged fire with Israeli ground forces when they moved into an area east of the central town of Deir al-Balah and surrounded the house of an Islamic Jihad militant.
This is a process that always two steps forward and one step back - we just need to make sure that it's just one step back US President George W Bush
Once the soldiers had withdrawn, the baby girl was found dead in the house next door to the one that had been targeted, they added.
The Israeli military said the incursion, the first since its troops withdrew from the coastal territory overnight on Sunday, was a "pinpoint" operation targeting militants.
Earlier, a rocket hit the nearby Israeli town of Sderot, causing damage in a residential area. Israeli forces launched several air and ground strikes on rocket squads and Hamas installations in retaliation, killing at least two militants.
'Long time'
Speaking after meeting Jordan's King Abdullah at the White House, Mr Bush said he was "optimistic that they can conclude tough negotiations".
"Ten months is a long time. It's plenty of time to get a deal done," he told reporters.
Israel has warned of fresh action to prevent rocket fire from Gaza An asymmetric fightIn pictures: Gaza aftermath CCTV of missile
"This is a process that always two steps forward and one step back. We just need to make sure that it's just one step back."
Israel and the Palestinian Authority have been attempting to negotiate a peace deal since the US-sponsored conference at Annapolis late last year, which set out the aim to establish an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel by the end of 2008.
The president's comments came only hours after his Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, held talks in the West Bank in an effort to revive the peace talks.
Ms Rice also insisted she was confident peace was still achievable this year.
Her optimism was not shared by Mr Abbas, however, who said progress could only be made if a comprehensive ceasefire was agreed, a suggestion he has made before but which has been rejected by the Israeli government.
"I call on the Israeli government to halt its aggression so the necessary environment can be created to make negotiations succeed, for us and for them, to reach the shores of peace in 2008," he told reporters in Ramallah.
Mr Abbas said no-one could justify the killings of dozens of civilians, including more than 20 children, in the Gaza Strip during Israel's recent five-day offensive, which was launched in an attempt to suppress rocket fire by militants there.
Rights groups have accused Israel of a disproportionate response
"It has always been our conviction that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be achieved through violence or counter-violence, but through negotiations with terms of reference and international support," he added.
Ms Rice will meet the Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, in Jerusalem later and will hold further talks with Israeli and Palestinian officials on Wednesday before leaving the region.
The Israeli military has warned of fresh action to prevent militants firing rockets at populated areas in southern Israel.
The BBC's Aleem Maqbool in Ramallah says the Middle East peace process remains very much derailed with the same old obstacles stopping it from getting back on track.
An agreement that was supposed to be the Bush administration's legacy in the region is still a very distant prospect, our correspondent says. Microsoft's Silverlight has been called a "Flash Killer" |

Over a new track recently leaked on the net, Dispet rapper 40 Cal proclaims "Dipset is Ova." Though the camp hasn't officially disbanded, cracks in the crew are showing up everywhere. It's no secret that Cam'ron and Jim Jones have beef, but recently, Juelz Santana spoke out about problems he's having with Cam too. On Hot 97's Angie Martinez show, when the rapper was asked what the hold up was on releasing new material, Juelz pointed to the Dipset Don as the problem. "Me and Cam gotta work some things out, bottom line," he said. "I came in the game when I was young right, so it's no reason for me - to have accomplished and did as much as I did - to be getting treated the same way as I was treated when I just came in." Meanwhile, Jimmy's former hook-singing right hand man Max B is having it out with the Byrd Gang honcho. After being heavily featured on Jimmy's sophomore release Harlem Diary, Max is dropping a new mixtape, "Million Dollar Baby 2," unofficially named "The Assassination of Jim Jones." "That's what it's gonna do to him. The very first track is gonna just end his whole career up," Max B said in a interview. "Somebody with my talent and my skill level need to be up there with the upper echelon, so I'm trying to get away from that situation over there." Now, 40 Cal has released the new track "Dipset is Ova" onto the net, in which he blames the camp's beef for ruining everyone's careers but Jim and Cam's. "Dear Dipset the G's not eatin/ Somebody tell Cam and Jim to please stop beefin," 40 Cal rhymes. [Listen Below] Dipset member Bezel chymes in, "Cam got money, Jim getting gravy/ Dipset is ova. This shit is crazy." And instead of shouting out Dipset, the two claim Juelz' crew Skull Gang at the end of the track. "Dipset was one of the most powerful movements out there [and] still is," said Bezel at the end of the track. "It would be nice if niggas would get back together but everybody gotta be their own man at the end of the day. So with that said, I really don't know what else to say except Skull Gang bitch!" 40 Cal & Jay Bezel - Dipset is Over: |
Two female students from Alston High in Clarendon are to appear in the Mandeville Juvenile Court on March 20, arising out of a stabbing incident at that institution on Wednesday, February 27.
The two were arrested and charged by the Spaldings police after they used a knife to stab another female student during a fight over a man. The injured female received stab wounds in her head.
The injured girl, who is 16 years old, was rushed to the Percy Junor Hospital in Manchester where she received 16 stitches for the wound.
The two accused, one aged 16 and the other 17, were taken to the Spaldings Police Station where they were both charged with wounding with intent. But while Madrid is recovering from a run of three losses in four matches, Barcelona prepared for Tuesday's home game against Celtic by ending a 16-match unbeaten streak at Atletico Madrid.
The teams are among 14 set to return to the tournament this week and complete the two-legged second round. The final game in the Round of 16, Inter Milan against Liverpool, is scheduled for next week.
On Tuesday, Sevilla hosts Fenerbahce, defending champion AC Milan hosts Arsenal, and Manchester United hosts Lyon. On Wednesday, Chelsea hosts Olympiakos and FC Porto hosts Schalke.
Madrid needs a victory over Roma after a 2-1 loss at Stadio Olimpico, when Raul Gonzalez gave the Spanish team an eighth-minute before David Pizarro and Mancini scored for the hosts.
Madrid coach Bernd Schuster will again be able to call upon Robinho after the Brazil forward recovered from injury to score twice as a substitute in Saturday's win at Recreativo.
"This win has given us confidence at a very good time," said Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who is also back from injury. "We have to beat Roma and we mustn't let goals in."
Madrid needs the boost since Schuster will be without winger Arjen Robben, midfielder Wesley Sneijder and defender Christoph Metzelder because of injury.
Robinho could start up front in place of Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has four goals in this season's tournament but may miss out with an ankle injury.
Barcelona should still advance since it leads the Scottish champions 3-2 ahead of the match at Camp Nou, but needs to pick itself up from a surprise loss at Atletico.
"The squad have suffered a blow but as we have shown many times before we will get over it," Barcelona captain Carles Puyol said.
Coach Frank Rijkaard is expected to recall Lionel Messi, who scored two goals in Glasgow but was a substitute Saturday because of a slight injury.
Midfielder Deco, who was an unused substitute on Saturday, and midfielder Yaya Toure, who was rested, should also be back.
Sevilla lost in the league for the first time in six matches, falling at struggling Deportivo La Coruna 2-1. Coach Manolo Jimenez saved several key players as his team sets out to overturn a 3-2 deficit against Fenerbahce.
The league's top scorer, Luis Fabiano, played just the second half, while Frederic Kanoute played only the first. Seydou Keita, Diego Capel, Ivica Dragutinovic and Julien Escude - who scored in the first leg - were all rested.
"I don't regret saving players," Jimenez said. "The only person who has allowed himself the luxury of thinking about Fenerbahce was me and nobody else."
Fenerbahce defender Roberto Carlos has been out of action since he injured his leg in the first match in Istanbul and needs a medical check because he was still in pain during Saturday's training.
Fenerbahce, which a point behind Galatasaray in the Turkish league, could only draw 0-0 against Ankaragucu on Saturday.
Milan has the edge over Arsenal after a 0-0 draw in London, and the Gunners could struggle to get an away goal with Croatia striker Eduardo da Silva out injured for the rest of the season.
With Milan playing at home, Inter's second leg against Liverpool at the same stadium was put back a week to March 11.
Arsenal needed a last-minute goal by Nicklas Bendtner on Saturday to rescue a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa and stay at the top of the Premier League by a point. Second-place Manchester United needs only to avoid defeat to progress past Lyon.
United drew 1-1 in France in the first game and won at Fulham 3-0 Saturday even with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney on the bench.
The pair should return against Lyon, which should keep Brazil defender Cris in its team after he proved his recovery from six months out with torn knee ligaments by playing all of Saturday's 1-0 win over Lille.
Olympiakos' chances of bettering its 0-0 draw against Chelsea two weeks ago were hurt when striker Lomana LuaLua was ruled out of the game with a dislocated shoulder, while Porto needs to overturn a 1-0 loss to Schalke.
Oh boy, Mavado just can't seem to get a break in Trinidad and Tobago. In an article published in the Trinidad Express his kind of lyrics was again blamed for a stabbing incident leading to the death of a secondary school student.
See below the article in question.
In the wake of yesterday's stabbing to death of a secondary school student, at least one popular urban radio station has moved to clamp down on violent dancehall lyrics.
Well-known DJ, Kwesi "Hyper Hoppa" Hopkinson, special advisor/consultant at Red 96.7, described the stabbing incident as "the last straw" and he identified the music of dancehall star Mavado as one of the chief offenders in this regard.
"There is no doubt that the music is influencing the youths towards violence. Particularly an artiste like Mavado who says he's a gangsta for life and has the youths emulating that lifestyle," Hopkinson said.
Asked why these chose Mavado in particular, Hopkinson said he has been in the business for over 12 years and understands what music does to people. He said he had nothing personally against Mavado and his music.
"But we need to understand what Mavado is doing to the youths when he says he's a gangsta for life. We have to take a stand against the music that's inflaming these young minds, because they are not strong enough to withstand these messages," he said.
Hopkinson said his Afternoon Drive programme, which airs from 3 to 6 p.m. daily, would be focusing on music with more positive messages. He also spoke about the music of 50 Cent and newcomers Busy Signal and Demarco as having negative influences.
Hopkinson said he hoped DJs at other stations would see the harm that is being done and take a similar stance.
"We certainly are taking a stand at this station," he said.
Robbers in the Corporate Area have seemingly found a new interest.
Several motorcyclists have been robbed of their bikes in recent weeks and the police are aware of at least three recent cases.
While some of the robberies were committed by persons in motor vehicles, others were carried out by men on motorcycles. THE STAR has learnt that in these cases, the modus operandi includes two men riding up beside the intended victim, brandishing a knife, gun or other threatening item and demanding the bike. One of the successful robber then escapes on the stolen motorcycle.
Deputy Superintendent McArthur Sutherland, head of crime for the St Andrew Central Division, told THE STAR that he was aware of one recent case. The incident, which occurred near Annette Crescent, Kingston 10, was carried out in the same manner. The victim in this case was also shot by the robbers.
A senior officer from the New Kingston Police Post, also told THE STAR that he had received at least two reports of similar incidents. One incident, which occurred three weeks ago, took place in the Knutsford Boulevard area in broad daylight. According to the officer, a messenger was delivering documents to an office when two men on a motorcycle stepped up to him, pushed him off his bike and rode away. The motorcycle was later recovered in the Grants Pen area.
One motorcyclist, who was recently robbed, shared his experience. "It was about 10 p.m., and I was picking up my girlfriend. I got a puncture along Molynes Road. I went to the Boulevard with my tyre soft, so I was riding slow." He said he noticed a car trailing him and when he stopped at the gas station, two men came up behind him. "Dem drape mi," he said, "an butt mi wid di gun and tek whe di key."
The men rode off with his motor cycle but later crashed along Waltham Park Road and the bike was recovered.
An officer from the St Andrew Central Division, said a possible explanation for the increase in these types of robberies is the fact that the robbers want the bikes for use in other crimes. He said the bikes are small and make escaping easier, especially on off roads and small alleys. He also recounted an incident on February 22 where a robbery and shooting was committed by men on a high powered bike.
He also said several robberies in the Half-Way Tree area were committed by men on bikes - like the Honda PG11 125 and Loncin LX125 and LX150.LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Times sure have changed in the 19 years since Harrison Ford last donned the signature fedora of thrill-seeking archaeologist Indiana Jones. The viral spread of the trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is proof of that.
Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf star in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
The trailer for the May 22 release has drawn highly enthusiastic responses in theaters. But it may have had its biggest impact online, on a younger audience that may not think of Ford, 65, as equal to today's spry action heroes.
After premiering February 14 on "Good Morning America," Lucasfilm and Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures sent the trailer to the Web, plus movie theaters and TV stations around the world. Paramount estimates the trailer was seen more than 200 million times worldwide in the first week alone.
Harry Knowles, who runs the movie fan site AintItCool.com (his official title is Head Geek), says he first saw a bootleg version of the trailer online, then the official version online, and then saw it twice in theaters. Watch the whip-cracking trailer here ť
There were cheers in the theater when the familiar theme song kicked in, Knowles said, and comments on his Web site have been positive. "People generally really, really loved the trailer," he said. "Some people think it's a little more cartoonish-looking compared to the prior (films), with him whipping the lights and swinging on them and stuff. But at the same time, it seems that everyone is extremely excited that there's a new 'Indiana Jones' film. The excitement for it is palpable. It's much more aggressively anticipated than anything else that's coming out right now."
"The trailer caught on like wildfire, around the world, in all mediums," said Gerry Rich, Paramount's president of worldwide marketing, who's targeting moviegoers "from 8 to 80. The response has been sensational and it shows what technology can do when you have material that is so appealing to audiences."
Older audiences certainly remember Indy, but that's not the prime ticket-buying demographic. Thus the aggressive online campaign, which included what Paramount says is a record 4.1 million views on the Yahoo movie site in the first week and 2.6 million on the official IndianaJones.com site, the most ever for the studio.
"It looks to be THE highly anticipated movie of the summer," said Mark Mazrimas, marketing manager for independent theater chain Classic Cinemas. However, "this hasn't been on the screen for so long, (the challenge) is capturing the youth."
The brainchild of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, the franchise kicked off with "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, followed by "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" three summers later. "The Last Crusade" was released in 1989, boosting the worldwide box office total to $1.2 billion.
Now, with the buzz sparked, Rich -- who declined to make opening weekend predictions -- just wants to keep fans' attention: "The (only) negative comment from people was that they have to wait until May to see the movie."Boys learn differently from girls. That is an accepted fact. And some educators believe this is the way forward as the single-sex classes in co-educational schools offer the best of both worlds, as the learning experience is facilitated along with socialisation with the opposite sex.
Laurel Brent-Harris, national literacy coordinator of the Education Trans-formation Team, told The Gleaner that gender separation is being encouraged and is already in a few schools. "It is a good idea (and) it is catching on," she said.
Consultations with stakeholders are ongoing, The Gleaner learnt. Brent-Harris also pointed out that addressing differentiated instruction and the need to improve it were high on the ministry's agenda, as it is one of the critical targets of the National Literacy Plan.
Hyacinth Evans, professor of teacher education at the University of the West Indies' Institute of Education, believes gender separation should be expanded islandwide.
"This is definitely something that can be tried. However, schools do not have to wait for the ministry to make a general policy in this regard. Principals and teachers are expected to structure learning activities in ways that enhance the learning of all their students," Evans explained.
Both boys and girls produce better academic performances in single-sex schools, says Evans. The reasons given are the same. The climate of the classroom becomes more focused on the academic."
The polly ground experiment
Beverly Jobson-Grant, principal of Polly Ground Primary, reputedly the first co-ed school in recent record to employ the gender-separation tactic, told our news team that the initiative had its genesis in a genuine desire to help boys perform on par with their female counterparts.
"GSAT passes have improved considerably. Most of our students get their first choice. It was not so in earlier days," she explained.
Colin Blake, grade-six teacher and vice-principal of Polly Ground, said the separation, which started in 2003 with only the grade-six students, was now being employed at grade one.
Now, he says, the boys are performing better than ever: "The whole margin of difference in performance between boys and girls is not that wide again and their performance is almost equal."
Leoni Brown, acting principal of Jericho Primary, told The Gleaner that the gender separation was successful. "Boys need special attention. They function differently from girls," she said.
Brown believes this is the way forward as it facilitates the much-needed socialisation between the sexes and maximises the learning experience. She believes gender separation could work in secondary schools as well.
Paulette Stephenson, acting vice-principal at Jericho Primary, said the separation was now being done at grades three and six.
The always touchy topic of abortion resurfaced recently with members of the clergy defiant that no law should be passed to accommodate the act. 'Flair' gathered a few men to hear their views.
The comments were varied, from those pro-life to those looking for a compromise. But for the pro-lifers, the issue was more how long one should wait before it is considered wrong.
"Going on the premise that Jamaica is a Christian state, I would be willing to say that across the board, I wouldn't legalise it, lest after a certain number of weeks, you really are killing a person (the foetus)," said Jerome.
But who determines when human life actually begins? For Max, the minute the egg is fertilised, there is life. "If bacteria is considered to be alive, then why after the sperm reach, is not a living thing? It is alive! It small, you need microscope fi see it, but it alive!
Even those men against abortion agreed it is the woman's right, and hers alone, to choose. After all, the foetus is growing inside HER body. For those seeking a middle ground - abortion under certain circumstances, - they feel there shouldn't be any debate in some cases.
Barbaric
"I think it is far more barbaric to force victims of incest and rape, for instance, to carry those babies to term," says Andrew.
"Those who talk about they must carry the baby to term, dem a go help the women pay fi it?" Ronaldchimed in with similar sentiments. "If the girl did get rape, dat different. But, don't come to me wid dis ting bout 'Mi neva ready fi a baby', or 'Mi and mi boyfriend neva plan fi one.' Use boots den! Dat deh excuse no mek it!"
But what if there was a case where the wife committed adultery and got pregnant? Would even the most adamant pro-life man ask his wife to abort to avoid bringing home a jacket? "She can keep it if she wants, 'cause she not coming back to me with it. I'm not going to try and work anything out. Him (the baby) not coming into my yard!

St Catherine woman fined for marijuana
Michelle Black, who was caught attempting to export marijuana to Antigua, told the court that she was promised US$10,000 ($710,000) to do the deed.
The court heard that while Black, who is of a St Johns Road, St Catherine address, was preparing to leave on a flight to Antigua, she was searched and 5.5 lb of ganja was found strapped to both of her thighs.
When she appeared in court, she told RM Brown that she had met someone through a friend of hers and this person had paid for her flight. She, however, said she did not know the person's name.
When RM Brown asked her if she wanted him to send her to jail, she simply replied, "I don't know, Sir." After a while and a few tears, she told the court that she had three children, aged 10, 16 and 19 years. "Mi have mi children dem sir", she said.
Black was fined $8,000 or six months in jail for possession, was admonished and discharged on the charge of dealing and was fined $24,000 or six months for attempting to export the drug. In addition, she will have to serve three months in jail. If the fines are not paid, she will serve nine months.
After the sentence was handed down, Black asked the court whether she could immediately be taken to where she would be serving her time, so she could get it over with and be reunited with her children.A compound isolated from the frog, which grows to 27cm as a tadpole before shrinking to 4cm in adulthood, stimulates insulin release.
A synthetic version of the compound - pseudin-2 - could be used to produce new drugs, delegates at the Diabetes UK annual conference heard.
Around two million people in the UK have type 2 diabetes.
The condition, which is often associated with being overweight, develops because the body does not produce enough insulin, or when the insulin that is produced does not work properly.
It means people cannot regulate their *la*hd glucose levels properly.
Scientists from the University of Ulster and United Arab Emirates University have tested a synthetic version of pseudin-2, a compound which protects the paradoxical frog from infection.
More research is needed, but there is a growing body of work around natural anti-diabetic drug discovery that, as you can see, is already yielding fascinating results Dr Yasser Abdel-Wahab
They found it stimulated the secretion of insulin in pancreatic cells in the laboratory.
And importantly, there were no toxic effects on the cells.
The synthetic version was better at stimulating insulin than the natural compound, opening the way for it potential development as a drug for treating diabetes.
Amphibians
Study leader Dr Yasser Abdel-Wahab, senior lecturer in biomedical sciences at the University of Ulster, said there had been a lot of research into bioactive molecules from amphibian skin secretions.
One recently developed diabetes drug - exenatide - was developed from a hormone in the saliva of the Gila monster - a lizard found in south-western United States and northern Mexico.
"We found that it stimulated the secretion of insulin and that the synthetic version is more potent that pseudin-2 itself.
"More research is needed, but there is a growing body of work around natural anti-diabetic drug discovery that, as you can see, is already yielding fascinating results."
Douglas Smallwood, chief executive of Diabetes UK, said although type 2 diabetes could be managed with diet and physical activity, the condition was progressive and may require medication to control it effectively.
"Good diabetes control reduces the risk of complications including blindness, heart disease, kidney problems and amputation so new treatments are vital."
Rapper Juvenile is shocked and devastated by the shooting death of his 4-year-old daughter, the girl's mother and another child, his manager, Aubrey Francis, told The Associated Press on Saturday.
The bodies of Juvenile's daughter Jelani; her mother, Joy Deleston, 39; and Deleston's daughter Micaiah, 11, were found Thursday night in their home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which is near Atlanta. Deleston's 17-year-old son, Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr., is being charged with the murders. He was arrested Friday.
"It really shocked him and devastated him to the point where I've never seen him before," Francis said of the rapper, according to the AP. "Right now he is relaxing and trying to grasp everything of what has happened."
Deleston, 39, was an actress who appeared in locally produced films, as well as a seven-and-a-half-year veteran of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police have not announced a motive in the killings.
Codenamed Reynard it aims to recognise "normal" behaviour in online worlds and home in on anomalous activity.
It is likely to develop tools and techniques for intelligence officers who are hunting terrorists and terror groups on the net or in virtual worlds.
The project was welcomed by experts tracking terror groups using the net to organise or carry out attacks.
Growing threat
Brief details about Reynard came to light in a report sent to the US Congress by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) - which co-ordinates the work of US intelligence agencies.
We can see groups emerging in cyber spaces and virtual communities that would be wholly virtual Roderick Jones, Concentric Solutions iPM: Listen to the interview with anti-terror experts In that report, which talked about the data mining efforts undertaken by the ODNI, Reynard was described as: "a seedling effort to study the emerging phenomenon of social (particularly terrorist) dynamics in virtual worlds and large-scale online games and their implications for the intelligence community".
Using publicly available data Reynard researchers will carry out observational studies to establish "baseline normative behaviors".
Once these are identified, Reynard will "then apply the lessons learned to determine the feasibility of automatically detecting suspicious behavior and actions in the virtual world".
"It's a positive step," said Andrew Cochran, founder and co-chairman of the Counterterrorism Foundation. "For a number of years we were behind in chasing jihadists' presence on the net and detecting it."
"That's a very sensible step at the moment," said Roderick Jones, a vice president of Concentric Solutions and a former special branch officer. "Just to feel their way around them and work out what new intelligence collection methods might be required to deal with this threat, because you won't be able to use traditional law enforcement methods."
New worlds
A senior intelligence officer at the ODNI said Reynard was in its very early stages and it was too soon to say which online worlds it would be studying. He added that any work on it would be purely for research rather than "operational" purposes.
Many terror groups indulge in cyber crime to fund their activities "I think its highly unlikely terrorists would use things like Second Life or World of Warcraft as they do not have the necessary security," said Mr Jones.
"Terrorist use of the internet at the moment relies on password protected forums," he added.
Said Mr Cochran: "All of the major terrorist treatises have been distributed through the internet so taking it to a virtual world with multi-player role games is really an easy step."
It was inevitable that terror groups would make greater use of the internet and the possibilities that virtual spaces offered them, said Mr Jones.
"There's more a chance of things like Jihad worlds coming online in the next five years I think," he said.
The visual richness of virtual worlds made them good places to educate recruits about techniques, said Mr Jones.
Attack pattern
"We can see groups emerging in cyber spaces and virtual communities that would be wholly virtual," he said. "They would organise and radicalise in virtual worlds and attack using cyber methods without becoming a real world presence in any real way."
Many groups were likely to use the expertise and skills they learn in virtual worlds to target key net systems.
Ken Silva, chief technology officer for Verisign which oversees some of the net's core address books, said such an attack could be "devastating".
"We see a continuing growth in the amount of horsepower in the attacks that are directed at infrastructure servers," said Mr Silva.
A router problem made YouTube inaccessible for many "We are seeing a large shift from attacks that are directed at individual websites," he said. "The sophistication is getting a little smarter and they are attacking the infrastructure pieces behind them..., which is typically in most production environments the least invested in."
Some of the basic systems of the net, such as the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) which helps data reach its intended destination, were open to attack.
An accidental misconfiguration of BGP in some routers in Pakistan caused the recent problems with YouTube which left many people unable to reach the video site.
"BGP is essentially a relatively unprotected protocol and is seriously vulnerable to disruption," he said. "Should that happen, it could take a very long time to correct that situation."
"This has to be fought at every level," he said.
