Help me heal!

June 19, 2008
Started By linko1 Comments

I am an 18-year-old young woman. My very first relationship just ended after three years and I can't seem to get over him. I think I love him too much, even though over the past few years he has given me hell. I don't understand why it's so hard for me to move on, he has. I used to hear rumors that he had another girl in the district, but of course he denied it. Things took a turn for the worse when last year I heard that he got the same girl pregnant. For months he denied it. My mother even confronted him and he said they were just lies. I was attending a prominent high school and had my CXC's to do and had to be dealing with all of this. When my mother was really convinced it was true she told me to stop talking to him. I was stubborn and thought he loved me. He finally confessed around June last year, but he said it was only once and the condom burst.

Blinded

I was so naive and blinded by love that I convinced myself that it was the truth. After my exams and graduation, my mommy gave me an option. She said I should stop talking to him or leave. I made the worst mistake of my life when I left. It broke my mother's heart and it only got worse. We broke up for a while, but then we got back together. The girl was like a thorn in my side. She called 24/7. When I complained about it, he ignored me. I was so stressed out. I lost 20 pounds by September. In September though I got a job as a secretary so I was ok for that time. In October, she gave birth, but the baby died two days later. I felt so bad for him because he was so hurt, but I guess that just pushed them closer together because things got much worse. She even started to come by the house. I got fired in October a week before my birthday. I don't even know why.

Trapped again

The year zoomed by. In January this year, I made up my mind and went back to my mommy. But I still loved him and made contact even though it was prohibited. I went to Florida in January to start afresh and that didn't work out because my cousin who I was staying with made my life hell and sent me back in a couple of months. I was so dumb that I fell right back into his trap when I returned. I distanced myself from him. He noticed and complained, but it didn't matter. I told him it was really over, but he took it for a joke, but it was really clear to him a month later. After that he ignored me and I did the same even though it killed me.

One Saturday night I was walking home and he dragged me to an old building and held me against my will. He did this after he found out that I was going to meet up with a friend of mine whom he claims I had been involved with during the time we were together, which is not true. He said I violated him because all he wanted to do was spend a couple minutes with me.

Nuff bun

Mind you, he has a girlfriend. He actually told me he was unfaithful and that he was having sex with the girl who he had impregnated numerous times before and that no condom burst. He even mentioned others. He even said that the child wasn't his, yet the same girl is his girlfriend even though she pawned off a child on him. I just don't understand why after all of this, it's still so hard for me to let go. I have put a wall around my heart and I don't think I will be able to tear it down. It hurts so much. I cry a lot over this.

What can I do to get over him? Is it because it's my first relationship? Should I continue to put all relationships on hold, or will another one help me heal? Please aid me with your wisdom.

L.R., St Mary, Jamaica

Dear L. R.,

There is no magic pill that I can recommend to you to take, so that you will be able to forget this man. But if you have any pride at all, you will not have anything to do with this man who has humiliated you and treated you worst than a doormat. The question is, do you have any pride at all? Pride for yourself and pride for your mother and father. They have suffered too. They saw what you went through. They felt the abuse as much as you.

No respect

This man has no respect at all for you and yet you claim that you love him. I tell you, my dear, nobody in the world is more important than you. Get that in your head and move on with your life. Love does not wilfully hurt another and that man has hurt you in so many ways. Stand on your feet and realise that this man wants to control you. He does not know anything that is called love. Pray and ask God to help you to come to yourself. You have not done so yet and until you do so, you will continue to suffer emotionally and psychologically.

Billy Ray Cyrus says he wasn't around when Annie Leibovitz photographed his 15-year-old daughter, Miley, wrapped in a sheet with her back exposed, for the June issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

"I wasn't there at the time," the 46-year-old country star said in an interview Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show.

"(Miley's) publicist was there, and everyone seemed in control," he said. "I didn't know they (were) gonna strip her down and wrap her with a blanket."

"So I was surprised when I saw it, you know, but ... stuff happens. That's life. Things happen and sometimes things get a little out of control and you just gotta deal with life," he said. "Again, it's peaks and valleys and ups and downs."

Cyrus, who co-stars with Miley in Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana," said Leibovitz was a "good person and a great photographer" but looking back, he would have stayed to chaperone the photo shoot.

Another photo in the Vanity Fair spread that caused a stir was the image of Miley in a black tank top that revealed her midriff as Cyrus held her in his arms.

When asked if that photo was a mistake, Cyrus said: "It's not a mistake to me. If it is to someone else, I'm sorry if I offended somebody, but no, that's just a daddy that loves his daughter a whole lot."

Cyrus said he and Miley "got caught up in this adventure that we've gone through with this dream, and what we do for a living. ... We both love acting, we love making music and we love each other. I'm her dad and she's my daughter, so if a daddy hasn't hugged his daughte

A former New York firefighter who torched a firehouse door as a prank has been sentenced to prison by a judge who said his actions were "beyond stupid."

Michael Izzo apologized Thursday for the incident, which occurred at Engine 34's quarters in Hell's Kitchen on Oct. 27, 2007. He had pleaded guilty in March to felony reckless endangerment.

Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Laura Ward sentenced Izzo to one to three years in prison.

Izzo's co-defendant, 31-year-old Richard Capece, pleaded guilty in March to misdemeanor reckless endangerment. Ward sentenced him in May to five months in jail and 100 hours of community service.

The two admitted pouring a flammable liquid on the door to start the fire. Another firefighter saw smoke and alerted colleagues. No one was hurt.

"I was hoping the day would never come when Id have to write these words: Amy Winehouse has a sex tape. A friend of the singers turned over a series of tapes to UK tabloid News of the World that show Amy getting down with fiancé Blake Fielder-Civil. According to the tabloid, the friend turned over the tapes because she was late on rent in an attempt to show the world just what power Blake wields in manipulating the vulnerable young star. The tapes also shows Amy and a friend sitting in her living room (with drug paraphernalia strewn everywhere) singing a childrens song with her own added racist lyrics (video on PAGE 2) but who cares about that did you read the headline Amy Winehouse has a freaking sex tape. News of the World says:

One [tape] shows a disinterested Amy pleasuring [Blake] with one hand while chatting matter-of-factly on a phone held in the other. Theres more shocking footage filmed in the public stairwell of a hotel. First Blake asks Amy to perform oral sex on him. A woozy-looking Amy asks: Are you vidding (videoing)? and Blake tells her to wink at the camera.

Our source said: Blakes clearly the instigator behind the idea of them having risky public sex. It looks like the camera was a new toy and he wanted to test it out. (Source)

West Bank, simply put, defies all conventional definitions. Known for their juicy cuts which are a smattering together of reggae and dancehall marinating in the sauces of the Caribbean, West Bank has a sound like no other with straight club rockers, and fun-filled messages on laid-back dancehall robo-pop rhythms. Just when you think youve finally figured them out, they sprint off in another musical direction: jazzy grooves, funk, R & B and even hip hop, but always with a reggae undertone. They have the island feel and unforced charisma of the early Fugees.

"We want to create a whole new sound, always with that Reggae vibe, says lead group member, Joe West.

Weve been in house for four years straight, rehearsing and finetuning this sound, and now we have an album, 14 amazing tracks, this is our Initial Deposit.

The members are Joel Isaacs, aka Joe West, Patrick Livingston a.k.a Mr. Millinium, and Jodaine Penrose aka Jody Jode. Group leader Joe West is no stranger to the music industry. Behind the scenes as a writer and producer, he enjoyed success managing two popular groups, ARP and Emerge, in his native Jamaica. Now he is relishing his time in the limelight, and his enigmatic stage performances are a joy on the east coast club scene.

I like this group, everybody shares the weight, everybody brings something to the table. The group is a musical bank of talent that represents the West Indies as well as the whole Western hemisphere, he said.

The other one-third of West Bank is Patrick Livingstone, aka Mr. Millinium,  a deep-voiced deejay from St. Croix. Born in Antigua, Mr. Millinium grew up in St. Croix and now lives in New Jersey. Hes written performed and perfected various forms of Reggae and Calypso music in different venues and was lighting up the dance hall scene with his explosive lyrics before finding a home with West Bank.

I grew up listening to mostly reggae and hip hop and as I get older, I got more into straight dancehall, my influences are Ele, Mad Lion, Buju with that deep voiceI love getting out there and doing my thing, the girls love it, he said, confidently.

The final piece, and a delicious one at that, is Jodaine Penrose, aka Jody Jode. Her silky sound is the perfect element that glues these divergent voices into a sweet Caribbean collision of harmonies.  Jody Jode,  a Jamaican native also currently living in New Jersey,  who has been singing since she was seven years old. Her voice is pure sensual soul and even on weed odes like More I Smoke My Trees, her class shines through like a beacon. She can also deejay as well, bringing a smile to your face as she deejays about being a hot gal prone to conspicuous consumption, or iced-out bracelets on Hot Girl.

But the girl has game, check her out as spits a vicious eight bars rap-style on All Night Long after singing a super-sexy, deliriously amped hook. When she says youll never find another like me, you believe her and you regret it. Jody Jode balances all the garden variety tough talk with some decent singalong hooks. She is a fierce and powerful young voice moving toward something bigger. She is da b****!

West Banks first single, Never Find Another has already placed them firmly on the lyrical stage. This sexy, jazzy reggaefied groove demonstrates the groups versatility, and has created enough positive buzz to get to #7 on the Suzie Q Reggae Trail chart which airs on TVJ and on stations in New York.

They will be appearing on a show on July 13th in Maryland, and recently appeared alongside Daville on a Mothers Day show in Queens, New York. While they were in Jamaica in May, they hit the stage at the Asylum nightclub and the Up and Live show on HYPE and represented well.

It was a great experience, performing for our own Caribbean people, and getting a great response, Joe West said. Bookings are handled in house and by US-based agent Delroy Carroll.

West Banks debut album, Initial Deposit, is a must-have asset for any long term music collector because this is an investment that keeps on generating interest.  Even with a politically controversial name, they dont get involved in discussions of religion and politics. They know how to party, and has built up a decent underground following performing at reggae clubs along the east coast. And the West Bank just keeps growing and growing. And growing. First stop, West Indies. Next stop, the world.

For those who dont kno or overstand wat its all about

Danielle a.k.a DI was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration yesterday when she collapsed suddenly after an intense workout session in the gym. She has received intravenous fluids and ordered to have two weeks of bed rest.

Danielle1.jpg"I have been on a rigourous exercise programme and I never ate anything the day, and I went to my room and my mom was calling me and I wasnt able to respond, like I passed out, just fainted, knock out. They took me to the hospital, and they put me on a drip, the doctors said I was overworked and physically exhausted, she explained to One876Entertainment.com this morning. She has lost over 25 pounds in the last four weeks.

D.I.'s hospitalization has forced the cancellation of her video shoot with Kimala Lala Bennett, scheduled studio sessions with top producers as well as postponed performances in Florida.

I guess I am going to have to postpone the shoot until later in the week, but I will try to keep as hydrated as possible from now on.

She had planned to shoot the video for the Beat It remix featuring Vybz Kartel and her latest single, Ready Body.

Her publicist Kiki said that Danielle was crushed by this setback however this has happened to many recording artistes: Usher, Kelly Rowland, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey so many others." D.I. wants her fans to know that she is following strict doctor's orders for a quick recovery and will be ready for Reggae Sumfest.

She was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration and had to be administered intravenous fluids before being ordered to bed rest for two weeks.

According to D.I.'s agent, "Danielle has been working extremely hard; she is on a hectic exercise program. She has a long list of singles working on with various producers and has lost sight of the importance of consuming fluids. Right now Danielle is crushed by this set back however this has happened to many recording artistes: Usher, Kelly Rowland, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey and countless others."

A Queens teen got a tounge-lashing - and 22 years in jail - Monday for shooting a man who tried to defend his pregnant wife in an armed robbery.

"This was an act of cowardice and barbarism which resulted in truly horrific consequences," Queens Supreme Court Judge Richard Buchter told 18-year-old Ronald King. "Mr. King deserves no mercy from this court."

Victim Edwin Pizarro, of Maspeth, survived the Oct. 20, 2006 shooting with a single bullet permanently lodged in his head, he said.

Pizarro and his wife Diane were walking in their neighborhood around 10 p.m. when King and two accomplices held them up at gunpoint and demanded cash, credit cards and a cellphone, prosecutors said.

Not satisfied with their take, King cocked his trigger and ordered Pizarro to step away from his pregnant wife, prosecutors said. Pizzaro pounced on the gunman - and was shot in the struggle, prosecutors said.

Pizarro was left with numbness in his left arm and memory and speech loss, but he stared down his attacker in court. His wife was too traumatized to come, he said.

"I knew that justice was on our side," Pizarro said, holding his year-old son close after the sentencing.

"I'm very happy," he added, crediting prosecutor Christine Siscaretti's work on the case.
King was convicted of attempted murder, assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

He insisted he had nothing to do with the attack. His accomplices were not found.
"I really didn't do this," King said.

Since the shooting, King has been convicted of fighting in Rikers jail, and also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor weapons posession charge for getting caught with a boxcutter shortly before the 2006 attack, Siscaretti said.

Pizarro said he was infuriated to see his attacker again. He hoped one day King would accept responsibility for his actions.

"One day he will grow up and realize a man's character is about honesty," Pizarro said.

SHAGGY

Shaggy was the nickname given to a Jamaican youth, Orville Burrell, by
friends during his teenage years, when his hair bore a similarity to the cartoon character, Scooby Doo.

Today, when the word Shaggy is mentioned, the famous Jamaican Reggae singer comes to mind, preceding that of the fictitious cartoon character. Orville Burrell 'Shaggy,' has to date released six albums, two of which sold multi-platinum. Five were number one hits and eleven tracks made it as top ten singles in the world. Having exceeded sales of 10 million, the Grammy winning artist is Jamaica's only living "Diamond" selling entertainer.

In the early 1990's Shaggy came on the scene with his remix of the Ska classic 'Oh Carolina'. Soon after, the release of "Bo****astic" solidified Shaggy as a dancehall hit-maker winning the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

Will Bounty Ever Forgive Kartel?

5 Comments written below
Since the bitter split between Vybz Kartel and member of the Bounty Killer led Alliance, there has been a lingering question on the minds of many.

Will Bounty ever forgive Kartel for leaving the Alliance, and if so would he be reinstated as the prodigal son?. The reason 876radio.com ask these burning questions are based on a series of events over the past few months.

Even though there has been some harsh verbal exchanges between the two the tides are slowly changing along with their attitude towards each other. Just weeks ago at the British Link-Up party held at La Roose, Portmore, Kartel was quoted as saying "when yuh a war sometimes yuh lose some and sometimes yuh win some" immediately following that statement he 'bigged up' popular selector Jigsy and paid homage to Bounty Killer.

Bounty on the other hand was quoted in two recent television interviews as saying "Mi not running down nuh top spot like some a dem, Mi set inna life so mi a leave di business to Busy, Mavado and Kartel fi run it". When asked about the title of Deejay of the Year he said "If anybody shoulda get it ah would ah.. Mavado or Busy then Kartel, only dem three deh qualify".

At last Sundays' staging of his Birthday pool party in Norbrook where members of the Alliance were in full flight, Kartel's song 'Trailer Load A Money' received arguably the biggest forward of the night and even got the nod of approval from the Warlord and his protege Mavado.

Now with all these chains of events one cannot help but wonder if there is even a glimmer of hope that the two may one day reconcile their differences and crusade as a united front for the greater good of Dancehall. Thankfully the process has already started with Kartel and Mavado calling a truce to one of Dancehalls' biggest feud in recent times.

This has been another brain teaser brought to you by the good folks at 876radio.com

WASHINGTON, (AFP) - A Texas death row inmate who appealed his conviction on the grounds that the judge in the case was having an affair with the prosecutor saw his appeal rejected late Monday on procedural grounds, opening the way for his execution on Tuesday.

The state criminal appeals court rejected the appeal of Charles Hood, 38, sentenced to death in 1990 for two murders, saying that the claim about the judge was not "new" information available to the case.

It said the information could have been included in earlier appeals made by Hood's lawyers, but was not; and that his lawyers offered no evidence that it made a difference in the jury finding Hood guilty.

The court also rejected the petition to stay his execution on grounds that the wrong attorney signed the petition.

The rejection leaves Hood's attorneys few routes of appeal to block his execution scheduled for 6:00 pm (2300 GMT) Tuesday at the prison in Huntsville, Texas.

Hood, was convicted and sentenced to death in 1990 for killing his supervisor and the supervisor's girlfriend the year earlier in Plano, Texas.

His fingerprints were found at the scene of the crime and he was caught fleeing in the victims' car, together with their jewelry, credit cards and other items.

Late last week, his lawyers petitioned the court to stay his execution and to nullify his conviction based on evidence that the judge in his case was in a relationship with the prosecuting attorney.

In an affidavit in the application to overturn Hood's conviction, Matthew Goeller, a former assistant district attorney, called the relationship "common knowledge."

"This relationship (...) was in existence in 1987 (...) and it continued until approximately 1993," he said.

A dozen professors of ethics and the law wrote to the court and to Texas Governor Rick Perry arguing that if the judge and the prosecutor were in a relationship at the time, Hood's conviction should be overturned.

"An impartial judge is an essential component of the American adversary system. If a judge's impartiality is subject to reasonable question, there is a 'structural defect' in the trial, meaning that vacation of the conviction is required," they wrote.

TURLOCK, Calif. - Police on Monday identified a man who was fatally shot by an officer for allegedly refusing to stop beating a toddler to death along a remote road.

Sergio Casian Aguilar, 27, parked his truck on an unlit road Saturday night, removed a 2-year-old boy from his car seat and proceeded to stomp, kick and punch the boy to death, authorities said. The boy was unrecognizable when he was pronounced dead at Emanuel Medical Center, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said.

Authorities have not released the boy's name but say they believe he was Aguilar's son. The Stanislaus County coroner and the California Department of Justice are testing DNA to confirm the relationship.

Several motorists called 911 and tried to stop the beating, authorities said.

Dan Robinson, a local volunteer fire department chief, told The Modesto Bee that at first glance, he thought the child was a dead animal in the road. He said when he realized it was a child, he tried to stop Aguilar.

He said Aguilar had a "total hollowness in his eyes" and talked calmly of the boy being filled with "demons."

Witness Lisa Mota told the San Francisco Chronicle that Aguilar told people who tried to stop him that the boy was "trash."

Responding to 911 calls, a Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department helicopter landed in a dairy pasture near the scene. A Modesto police officer, Jerry Ramar, fatally shot Aguilar after he failed to heed the officer's warning to stop beating the child, authorities said. Aguilar flashed his middle finger at Ramar before Ramar shot him in the forehead, police said.

"I have never seen anything like that before and I hope I never have to again," Ramar said of the beating.

Authorities have not released the name of the boy's mother.

Aguilar had no previous criminal history, police said. Results of toxicology tests on Aguilar are expected in four weeks.

Ramar has been placed on paid administrative leave, a routine response for officer-involved shootings.

WOBURN, Mass. - A police detective testified Tuesday that a laptop computer taken from the home of a British man accused of killing his wife and 9-month-old daughter was used to search online for "how to kill with a knife" four days before the slayings.

Medford police Detective Lawrence James, a computer expert, said the Google search was done on Jan. 16, 2006. Neil Entwistle has pleaded not guilty to murder charges stemming from the killing of his 27-year-old wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Lillian Rose, in their rented Hopkinton home on Jan. 20, 2006.

The 29-year-old Entwistle told police he returned home from shopping to find the victims dead in a bed in the master bedroom.

Prosecutors, however, sought to indicate that Entwistle was planning to kill his wife and child, saying that he researched methods of murder and suicide in the days before he fatally shot them.

James is expected to testify more about Entwistle's computer use Wednesday. Judge Diane Kottmyer ruled Tuesday that prosecutors will be allowed to present evidence that Entwistle trolled the Internet looking for sex in the days before the slayings.

James testified in previous court filings that Entwistle allegedly looked for local escort services using search terms that included "half-priced escorts," and that he joined a Web group called "Adult Friend Finder," where he exchanged e-mails with women saying he was looking for a "discreet" sexual relationship.

A chemist also testified Tuesday that Entwistle's DNA was found on the handle of the .22-caliber handgun used in the shootings, while his wife's DNA was found on the muzzle.

Prosecutors say Entwistle stole his father-in-law's gun from his home in Carver, used it to kill his wife and daughter at their home in Hopkinton, then returned the gun.

Entwistle's father-in-law, Joseph Matterazzo, testified earlier Neil Entwistle handled his guns when they went target practicing in the months before the killings.

MINNEAPOLIS - Two teenagers were charged Tuesday in the killings of a woman who was stabbed and cut more than 100 times and her 10-year-old son, who had a television smashed over his head, prosecutors said.

Stafon Edward Thompson, 17, and Brian Lee Flowers, 16, both of Minneapolis, were each charged as adults with first-degree murder in the deaths of Katricia Daniels, 36, and her son, Robert Shepard. If convicted, the teens face life in prison without the possibility of parole.

According to criminal complaints, Thompson and Flowers blamed the killings on each other. They allegedly knew Daniels through her 15-year-old son, who lives in Chicago.

The boys indicated that robbery was a motive, but Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman doubted that, noting the extreme violence. The only thing apparently taken was Daniels' cell phone.

"We don't know why this murder was committed and we may never know why. The level of violence associated with this crime is difficult to comprehend and difficult to imagine," Freeman said.

Thompson and Flowers were being held pending their first court appearances Wednesday, when they will be assigned public defenders. Neither could be reached for comment; jail inmates in Hennepin County are not allowed to take phone calls.

Daniels' boyfriend, Joseph Williams, found the bodies Thursday morning. Williams' 1-year-old daughter was *lo**y but unharmed. Daniels' body was found in the bathroom while Shepard was in a bedroom.

*lo** was spattered throughout the house, and *lo**y footprints, handprints and fingerprints were left behind, the complaint said.

Police recovered two knives and a golf club in the Daniels' house that they believe were used in the killings. They also found a knife in a garbage can in the alley.

Freeman said it appeared that Daniels had welcomed the teens into her home when they first arrived June 11.

Investigators were led to the teens by a call made on Daniels' cell phone.

The ban extends not only to the material found on the album "Gideon Boot", but to all songs from his repertoire. According to IRIE FM officials, the song contained an expletive that could faintly be heard after the song had ended, and came as a surprise to Announcer Elise Kelly who was playing the song in her shift. Representatives from VP Records also expressed their shock upon hearing of the ban, and have begun taking corrective steps to rectify the situation.

The album was part of a deal with ace producer Bobby Digital, who was charged with the responsibility of selecting the final copies of the songs for the album, released on VP records label. Unofficial word from insiders is suggesting that a mistake was made on the part of the person charged with the responsibility of mastering the songs for the final album cut.

Members of Bonner Cornerstone Music-to which Richie Spice is now officially based- have expressed outrage at this mistake being made; one which has sought to cast a negative light on the otherwise positive and uplifting reggae act. Bonner Cornerstone officials have categorically stated this will not deter Richie Spice and members of Bonner Cornerstone Music from their path of spreading positive messages of love, unity and strength to persons around the world.

Despite having done more than his share of violent lyrics, a more mature Bounty Killer says artistes should seek to be better role models, as society is losing its morals.
"When mi hear Kartel song, bout him mus guh a hell, him nuh know God, him cannot be a successful man in dis worl fa long. Him don't know wha him a do, yuh cyan play wid God word, cyan play wid God name. An sey him reach 33 degree a masonry ... any man whe mek dem statement deh, you blaspheme, an yuh ungodly ... an yout, a success yuh sey dat fah yuh nuh ... yuh jus waan soun like yuh wickeda dan Mavado," Killer said.
He added, "Dem ting dey whe yuh a instil inna di people dem is bad. A dat mi a tell yuh bout some artiste bo' yah, dem do any ting fi mek a dolla."
Higher road Bounty says he is taking the higher road as an artiste because society has lost its morals. "Nuh morals nuh dey again. Dat's why, yuh si, me cyan run dis place again, ca' dem immorality yah, me cyan do it. Ca' di tings whe yuh haffi guh sey fi please dem immoral people yah, yuh cyan sey it, yuh haffi guh soun like Kartel dem, an me cyan sound like dem people deh, mi haffi sound like one a di wise one. "Why yuh think me nah sing certain ting ... why yuh tink mi nuh waan run dis? Ca' if mi a run it mi haffi guh harda dan Mavado now, an mi haffi guh sey triple time wha him a sey, an picture me a sey triple time pon whe a gwaan or whe him a sey ya now. It nuh woulda escalate inna a time b****?" Responsible Bounty says artistes need to be more responsible in the kind of messages they are sending. "Di res a artiste dem out deh nuh tink bout dat? Yuh tink Vybz Kartel an dem care bout dat? A dem belly dem a tink bout an how much money dem can mek. Yuh tink dem care bout di culture or care bout di future or di youts dem a tomorrow?" Bounty says artistes should also play their part in the fight against crime and violence. "Wha we can do is speak out against these activities and behaviour, mek dem (fans) know sey musical art and musical expression is different from my personal expression, an I don't support these behaviour an these vigilante killing an violence," he said. "Dem (fans) love wi an dem rate wi, but dem hear wi sing certain tings, suh sometimes it mislead dem an mek dem tink sey wi all right wid dem ting yah ... All we can do is jus mek dem know sey me don't support these tings an wi don't look up to unnu when unnu do dem sum'n yah, an it nuh look good an unnu nuh have no good future." Bounty says artistes like Mavado who are hot now, he has encouraged to tone down his violent lyrics. "I've been telling him (Mavado) dat since di last few months an him been doing it now. Ca' yuh establish yuh self already, they know how hard you can be, so jus show dem whe you really a come from now... Tell wi bout yuh gully bank life now, Overcome, Special So Special, an (P)On Di Rock an dem sum'n deh, wi want dem out a yuh now an some nice girl sum'n, di fun-filling song dem." Suh wi get him pon a level now whe him si sey tings really serious an him a tek heed an a do some nice songs, suh wi jus hope him mind frame nuh change from dat," Bounty said.

June 18, 2008. Well ... here it goes. MediaTakeOut.com is hearing whispers that one of R&B singer Ray J's boys is trying to sell a tape that purportedly has Ray J engaging in a 3-way with 2 of the girls from Danity Kane.

Word on the street is that the grainy video was taken from a hidden camera placed in Ray J's room - and that it shows the two girls kissing each other and then engaging in foreplay with Ray J. Now we ain't seen the video yet, but if what we're hearing is correct - it should hit the net shortly.

Schoolboy now on murder charge

Spanish Town

An assault charge against a 16-year-old schoolboy was upgraded to murder recently, after a boy he is accused of injuring died in hospital.

Nicholas Beckford, 15, a St Catherine High School student, succumbed to injuries he received earlier this month.

Both boys lived on different sections of St Johns Road. Police said about 6 p.m. the boys had a dispute on a football field in Willowdene, St Catherine, during which a piece of board was used to hit Beckford in the head.

Beckford died in hospital on June 10 and the accused, who was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily arm, was then charged with murder.

Beckford's death placed a damper on the school. Several pieces of black cloth were observed hanging about the school's compound.

450 jobs cut

The bitter dispute over job cuts at the cash-strapped Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) came to an amicable end yesterday when company officials and unions agreed that 450 workers will be sent home on June 30 with redundancy payments instead of lay-off letters as was initially planned.

Among the workers being axed are 370 conductresses represented by the University & Allied Workers Union (UAWU) and 80 workers represented by the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE).

Included in the 450 workers are the 236 drivers and conductresses who were given letters two weeks ago informing them of the company's decision to lay them off for 119 days.

However, that decision triggered a two-day strike by the workers that inconvenienced commuters. The workers returned to work on June 8 after an agreement to extend the effective date of the lay-off from June 6 to June 11.

Yesterday, Transport Minister Mike Henry brokered the agreement for the workers to be paid a redundancy package.
Under the agreement, the 236 workers who were laid off on June 6, as well as those whose names now appear on a new list will be paid up to June 30, at which time their positions will be made redundant.

No set date has been given for the redundancy payments to be made. However, last night, Reginald Allen, communications manager in the Ministry of Transport, said the payments should be made within 30 days of the effective June 30 date.

Allen also said that some employees may apply, by June 27, for voluntary redundancy subject to management approval.
Last night, a JUTC official, who declined to be named, told the Observer that the plan was to cut the staff complement by 1,100.

The company, the Observer was told, wants to have 4.5 employees per bus instead of the 7.02 it now has. Following this redundancy, the ratio is expected to be 5.01: which is still not within the target.

The redundancy is part of the bus company's efforts to move to a cashless system which would eventually see all buses converted into single operator units.

The JUTC has been reportedly losing almost $30 million monthly from fares collected and a push for a cashless system would eliminate such heavy losses and better protect the company's revenue.

Starting July 1, all premium buses operated by the JUTC will become cashless, with an additional route for the regular services becoming cashless every month thereafter, according to the Observer source.

This move comes amid the challenges being faced with theft on buses, both from hold-ups and employees, our source said.

Yesterday, Clifton Grant of the UAWU expressed satisfaction that the matter was concluded in the employees' favour.

"This is what we have been clamouring for," he said. "We are satisfied we achieved our objectives."

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - A go-fast boat reportedly carrying a crew of four capsized on a Caribbean route used by drug traffickers and one survivor was found clinging to the boat's bow, which was jutting out of the water, United States authorities said Monday.

A US Coast Guard cutter and two planes were searching for the three missing crew members in an area about 235 miles south of Jamaica, said Guard spokesman Lt Matt Moorlag in Miami.

A US Customs and Border Protection plane located the capsized go-fast on its radar screen and a second plane was dispatched to investigate the "target of interest". The plane on Sunday found a man hugging the bow, a few feet out of the water, the agency said. The bow was the only part of the capsized boat still above water.

The survivor, who identified himself as a Nicaraguan, was taken aboard a merchant ship and has been uncooperative, Moorlag said. He told authorities his group had been fishing from their boat, Moorlag said.

Senior Special Agent Zachary Mann, a Customs and Border Protection spokesman, cast doubt on the survivor's tale.
"It doesn't appear that they were out for a Sunday Father's Day boat ride. Most likely some suspicious activity was taking place," Mann said by telephone from Miami.

He said the go-fast capsized along one of the routes used by smugglers to transport cocaine from Col****ia to Caribbean islands or Central America and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
Moorlag said the Coast Guard would not send divers to inspect what was on board and would sink the boat because it poses a hazard to other vessels.

Crews of go-fasts, the equivalent of the rumrunners of the Prohibition era, are equipped with global positioning systems, satellite telephones and often use custom-made 800-horsepower fiberglass boats that can do 50 mph. The cocaine is generally loaded on board on Col****ia's coast, offloaded in Central America or Mexico and then taken on land across the
US border.

HARRY 'Bungles' Daley, the police superintendent who was said to have been 'disrespected' by a soldier during a joint police/army raid on a dance in Spanish Town Saturday night, has been transferred, a highly placed source told the Observer late last night.

The source, however, was unable to say where Daley was posted.

Daley had reportedly gone to speak to the soldier, said to be a senior officer, about the operation when the military man allegedly pointed a pistol at the cop and told him that he accounted to no one. Daley reportedly left the scene in a huff after pushing the weapon away from his face.

The operation, led by a deputy superintendent from the Mobile Reserve, resulted in the detention of 107 persons, 73 of whom were processed and released the same day. Another 33 who were held in custody for additional processing until yesterday were released.

However, one man, whose name the police gave as Everald Bailey, was arrested for absconding bail. He was initially charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.

Superintendent Daley, who was up to yesterday evening in charge of the St Catherine North Division, headquartered in Spanish Town, apparently had no knowledge of the raid.

Yesterday, deputy commissioner in charge of crime, Mark Shields, said it was force policy to inform divisional commanders when special units intended to carry out operations in a police division. "The commander must be informed, although it can be at the last minute when the door is being kicked in. It is done on a case by case basis," Shields said.

Saturday night's incident was witnessed by parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Health, Aundre Franklyn, who was also in attendance at the dance.

Stop the wild allegations

June 18, 2008

JUSTICE Minister and Attorney General Senator Dorothy Lightbourne has dismissed as 'erroneous' media reports that the recent resignations of several lawyers from her offices were as a result of clashes between herself and staff members.

"I don't know anything about resignations, speak to the Solicitor General. I don't know anything about tension, I wish the media would stop with these wild allegations and go to source," Senator Lightbourne told the Observer yesterday after news broke that Director of State Proceedings, Nicole Foster-Pusey, had been the latest to tender her resignation.

"Persons who resigned spoke with him (Solicitor General) and gave their reasons for leaving. I'm seeing names I don't even know. I've never met the people," Senator Lightbourne said.

In the meantime, Solicitor General Douglas Leys, who himself took office in May, confirmed that Foster-Pusey had on Monday tendered her resignation which takes effect in September.

He, however, would not say how many persons had resigned since Lightbourne became attorney general and expressed a difficulty in understanding why she was being held liable for the spate resignations.

"The Attorney General has nothing to do with it, why are they calling her? She is the political head!" Leys argued.
He also dismissed reports that the tension at the department was because persons were having a difficulty with Lightbourne's management style.

"Let me put an end to that; I took office in May and I had a meeting with the attorney general and we have agreed for a formula going forward which means the office would operate in much the same way it did when Dr Ken Rattray was Solicitor General. [This means] the attorney general would be responsible for policy and advising government and the technical legal office would advise her on the technical legal implications of whatever policy the government is pursuing.
That's the formula we had, that's the formula I intend to abide by and that's the formula which the attorney general has agreed to," the solicitor general said.

According to Leys, the lawyers themselves had no difficulty with the arrangement.

"I have met with each and every lawyer individually and I have told them what the attorney general and myself have agreed and they have agreed that it is indeed the way they would like to see the affairs of the office conducted. We have also had general staff meetings where we have raised that and there is not one dissenting voice," he continued.

The solicitor general further said that persons had given various reasons for wanting to leave the department and contended that not one individual had cited a difficulty with Lightbourne as the reason for their resignations.

He admitted that their will be "some temporary dislocation" as a result of the resignations, which may lead to the reassignment of "people to take up tasks of those who have left".

He also disclosed that the department was on a recruitment drive for new personnel.
"I have dozens of applications from people who want to come into the Attorney General's Office and pursue a career here and we are about to embark on a recruitment exercise. I have applications before me of a blend of recruits coming out of law school and experienced people and we are pursuing them at all levels," he said.

MediaTakeOut.com just got its hands on a disturbing piece of audio. Apparently Young Buck called up 50 Cent recently asking him to rejoin G-Unit - and he broke into tears.

In the audio, you hear Buck literally begging 50 Cent to allow him back. If you listen carefully, you hear Young Buck claiming that he owes significant money to the I.R.S. and that he needs 50 Cent to help him pay it off.

But what's most striking about the call - are the words that Buck uses to ask for 50's forgiveness. He continually refers to his "confusion" to describe why he's been speaking out against the G-Unit leader.

Our only question is - if 50's supposed to be his friend, why would he leak such a damaging piece of audio. And probably more interesting is - how can Young Buck join up with someone who could do something so devious.

The G-Unit saga continues....

Our news team ventured into Jamaica's major towns to observe the new zero-tolerance approach to crime recently announced by the police. Today, we begin a series on our findings.
Sam Sharpe Square

WESTERN BUREAU:

On May 16 and again on June 1, a Gleaner news team visited the commercial district of Montego Bay, St James, and noted the level of lawlessness along Market, Church and St James streets in particular.

In Sam Sharpe Square, there were a number of persons vending illegally, while scores of motorists were involved in acts of indiscipline. All this was happening under the watchful eyes of uniformed policemen.

When questioned about their purpose in the square, one of the policemen explained, "We are doing the same thing we do every day, looking out for offenders."

Illegal sales

Along the commercial thoroughfare of St James Street, the sale of illegal DVDs, clothing, phone accessories and other items was prevalent.

Traffic offences included parking in no-parking zones as well as taxi operators picking up passengers in undesignated areas. In addition, several motorists showed disregard for individuals using pedestrian crossings.

"There's no structured (taxi) system in St James," Superintendent Steve McGregor, commanding officer for St James, told The Gleaner.

"One commuter suggested that the necessary agencies need to get this transportation system in St James worked out before the police can really go in. We don't want to go and take up something that is so haphazard and try to police it."

In relation to illegal vending, McGregor said: "That's a real problem in St James because we have a lot of it."

Constantly working

In dealing with this problem, he said the Island Special Constabulary Force was constantly working on curbing the problem.

In the meantime, Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Charles Sinclair, said the police and the Transport Authority have not aggressively dealt with traffic violations in the Second City.

"The police have fallen down, and the Transport Authority, because I have not seen them out on the streets," Sinclair told The Gleaner. "My municipal police have been out there in the street. In April, we moved 240 vehicles from no-parking areas and off the sidewalks."

Mayor Sinclair said he met with the Transport Authority as well as the police in regard to the city's traffic problem in January, and suggested that all agencies use the zero-tolerance approach.

He, however, stated that the parish council has limitations, as it is without some powers that the police and transport authority possess.

"I've written to the superintendent of St James about it and, if I don't see any improvement in the activities of the traffic police and the Island Special Constabulary Force on the road in that regard, I'm going to have to go to the commissioner," he warned.

McGregor said most of the problems in Montego Bay were caused by the fact that citizens have scant regard for the law.

"I'm enforcing the Night Noise Abatement Act and everybody thinks I want to give him or her a fight because people feel they must do what they want to do, and it can't work," he said.

Even though the Noise Abatement Act has been on the books since 1997, it was not being enforced, thus street dances and stage shows continued as late as 8 a.m.

"As it relates to the crime and violence situation, we are targeting people who are walking around with offensive weapons. We are arresting people for smoking ganja, and we will have the police on the roads ... to see what is happening," McGregor explained.

HALF-WAY TREE

From the moment she stepped inside the Mandela Park in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, men who were sitting idly along the concrete strip moved into action.

"What happen, browning, gi me a talk nuh? Browning, look ya nuh," shouted the men, as they attempted to arrest her attention. A few walked over and began hara**ing her. At one stage, she became so horrified that she snapped at one of the men who attempted to touch her.

Others hara**ed

She was not the only woman who was hara**ed; other women who were inside the park between 10 a.m. and noon had similar experiences.

She was part of a Gleaner news team that went into the Half-Way Tree area to observe the lawlessness that has been affecting the commercial district.

Half-Way Tree, the busiest of the island's capitals, is home to several vibrant commercial centres. It boasts a brand-new bus park and heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic plies the area. Despite all the activities, crime is not alien to Half-Way Tree. Robberies, hara**ment and murders have been committed there in broad daylight in full view of pedestrians and motorists.

Senior Superintendent George Quallo told The Gleaner the new police zero-tolerance policy entails "targeting all offences, whether they are major or minor, and taking a zero-tolerance approach to any infractions".

On entering the park from the eastern gate, red-plate taxis were either parked, stopped by 'No Parking' signs, or in the middle of the road, while the drivers shouted destinations - Papine, downtown, Cross Roads and Barbican, among other locations.

Offensive weapons

Vendors outside the Mandela Park were selling large knives and machetes, although these items have been declared offensive weapons. A string of profane language crackled through the humdrum of the traffic, as if on cue.

The scent of ganja and stale urine permeated the air in the park, becoming the natural odour emanating from the walls of a nearby building.

Pedestrians ignored many of the pedestrian crossings and traffic lights and braved the busy roadway whenever and wherever they liked. Others minded their own business, walking quickly to their respective destinations. Students from a number of high schools were seen loitering around the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre and in the general vicinity of the park.

A total number of seven policemen were counted in the area. Three were seen standing under the awning of the Wilco Sport and Gear Store, observing the conduct of motorists, but no one was ticketed for any traffic violations. Three were also seen on the first floor of the transport centre, along with 12 security guards.

Quallo told The Gleaner that, while there is a maintained presence in the major thoroughfares such as Half-Way Tree to prevent crime, he has shifted his resources to target the 'hot spots' where serious crimes such as murders and shootings have occurred.

PREACHER of hate Abu Qatada was freed from jail last night on condition he does not contact Osama Bin Laden.

A ludicrous bail ruling also means Qatada cannot receive visits from the worlds most wanted man.

Described as the al-Qaeda warlords No 2 in Europe, Qatada has additionally been barred from contacting preacher Abu Hamza.

Fugitive ... Osama Bin Laden

Qatada, 48, was granted bail last month by a judge at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission but his release was delayed while conditions were agreed.

Last night he was driven-from Long Lartin Prison, Worcs, under a blanket in a Peugeot people carrier.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said: I am extremely disappointed the courts have granted Abu Qatada bail.

He won an Appeal Court battle against deportation to Jordan, where he was sentenced in his absence for terror offences and then successfully applied for bail.

But Ms Smith will appeal to the Lords to reverse the deportation decision.

Yesterday Mr Justice Mitting also ordered Qatada must not contact Bin Laden deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri.

The pair are said to be hiding near the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Qatadas conditions ban him from talking to other terror suspects.

He must wear a tag and stay indoors for 22 hours each day.

FORENSIC detectives were last night examining a b**** which detonated under a parked minivan in Morant Bay, capital of the eastern Jamaican parish of St Thomas yesterday.

Two women who were injured in the blast were treated at hospital and released. The women, who were walking close to the vehicle, were injured by shrapnel from the explosion, according to head of the St Thomas police, Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth.

"It damaged the underside of the vehicle," said Nesbeth. "Fragments flew from it and injured the two ladies. They were not badly hurt, but were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure."

He also told the Observer last night that the explosion, which occurred shortly after 1:00 in the afternoon metres away from the Morant Bay Police Station, did not cause extensive damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle belongs to a businessman who operates a jewellery store in the town, but it was unclear last night what was the motive behind the b****ing. It was also unclear if the device was remotely controlled or was thrown under the vehicle.

One Morant Bay resident claimed last night the b****ing was a new tactic by extortionists who had targeted the jewellery store owner after their demands for $500,000 to provide 'security' were not met.

While not releasing information related to the residents' claims, Nesbeth hinted that investigators would be looking at extortion as a motive behind the b**** attack.
"It could be that someone threw it under the vehicle to drive fear into persons to try and extort money," Nesbeth said.

In the meantime, he described as rumour, a report that the businessman had received a telephone call instructing him to collect something from his car and had sent an employee to check on the vehicle. "I have no knowledge of that," Nesbeth said.

A nervous Morant Bay resident said last night the incident had caused jitters in the historic coastal town.

"Right now, everything tense. Everybody shattered," the resident said. "Nobody expected that this could happen here and so near to the police station." sadhmmpity

With the stakes very high and the promoters putting together an event with a strong line-up of the best of the best veterans and dancehall's hottest and latest newcomers to the business, the entertainer who has remained consistent for over three decades is taking no chances with the covetous title he now boasts - 'king of the dancehall'.

Not just a recording artiste, but also full-fledged stage performer, Beenie Man is quite busy choreographing new dance moves, making new lyrics and getting his designer to come up with the most eye-catching and hottest outfits that will give him a shot at the 'best dress artiste' title.

Beenie Man enjoys taking up challenges such as these big events where he can get the chance to put his exceptional talent on display. He is very good at what he does, but at the same time he is not going to ignore the fact that there are several other artistes out there who are going to do their best to stop him in his musical tracks. Several have tried and failed. When you think that he is down and out, he just rises like the Phoenix.

Beenie Man had two of the hottest dancehall and chart topping singles locally and internationally in 2007 - 'Back It Up' and 'Give It Up' featuring Barbie. This year he has added another number one to his collection with 'Wine Gal'. Two other singles, 'Gimme Lickle' and 'Yuh Know How Fi Wine', are also destined for the number one slot on the major charts and in the dancehalls.

Slated to perform on this year's Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night on July 17 are: Spice, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Mavado, Busy Signal, Vybz Kartel, Anthony B,I-Octane, Erup, Ninja Man, Macka Diamond, Wayne Marshall, Voicemail, Demarco, Little Hero, Harry Toddler, Sirani, Shane-O and Di, among others.

Mavado's crew member arrested

June 16, 2008
Started By linko17 Comments

A MEMBER of Mavado's almost 30-strong entourage who travelled with the popular dancehall artiste to Saturday's Digicel Jamaica Derby at Caymanas Park is now behind bars after assaulting a policeman in the racetrack's official car park.

Fans were ecstatic throughout the artiste's performance, some lighting newspapers in the stand on a day of record turnout at the racetrack in Portmore, St Catherine.

However, it was while Mavado and his entourage were leaving the track that things got really heated.

Reports are that a member of the group assaulted Caymanas Track Limited's (CTL) security boss, Jason McKay, who is also a district constable attached to the St Catherine South Police Division.

The man was wrestled to the ground by McKay and other police on hand, who dragged him off, kicking and screaming, to a waiting police vehicle from where he was taken into custody and charged with assault.

Curious onlookers

However, it was not an easy task as it took almost 30 minutes for the police on hand to ward off the determined entourage as several members of Mavado's crew attempted to obstruct McKay and other security personnel from making the arrest.

The five-man team eventually warded off their attackers, who were intent on freeing the man in police custody.

The crowd was eventually dispersed without any injury to what had become hundreds of curious onlookers.

McKay, when contacted, confirmed he had come under attack while trying to assist in the arrest of a member of Mavado's party and said was obstructed by several members of the entourage while attempting to take the suspect into custody.

However, he refused to say whether the artiste was directly involved in the altercation.

"The case is before the court and I don't want to comment but we were obstructed and we are able to identify two of the persons, who attempted to take the prisoner from us," he said.

Sparkle Michelle Rai

image_7182665.jpg

Chiman Rai

"Eight years ago Chiman Rai allegedly paid Mississippi hit men $10,000 to choke and stab his daughter-in law to death in her Union City apartment while her seven-month-old daughter was nearby.

Her offense? She married his son, an Indian.

And she was black.

On Monday Rai, 69, goes on trial in Atlanta for masterminding the murder of Sparkle Michelle Rai, 22. Fulton County prosecutors are asking for the death penalty as the family of the murder victim seeks finally to see justice served.

"The prosecutors have done a good job with this," said Rai's father, Bennet Reid Jr., Saturday. "We'll be there in the courtroom. For years my daughter has had no voice. Now, finally, her voice will be heard"

Rai, a native of India, brought his family to the U.S. in 1970. He taught math at Alcorn State University in Mississippi, later ran a supermarket and then bought a hotel in Louisville, Ky. where he hired Sparkle as a clerk.

There Sparkle met his son 18-year-old, Rajeeve "Ricky" Rai, who also worked at the hotel. The two fell in love and married. Sparkle's father and stepmother, Donna Lowry, a reporter for WXIA-TV in Atlanta, recalled later that Rai's family at first seemed to approve of their 18-year-old son dating a black woman." ajc. com

From another article,

"Local newspapers and other media machinery have been abuzz with the dismal chronicle of the Mathematics-professor-turned-hotelier's complicity in a crime most heinous for reasons as senseless as they are inhumane.

Accused of contriving to get his African-American daughter-in-law, aforementioned Sparkle Rai killed because he did not approve of his son Rajeev's marriage to her, Chiman Rai's photograph is plastered all over media vehicles as the personification of cruel insanity and racial slurring.

An Indian immigrant, 67-year-old Rai has been charged with hiring a hit-man to kill his black daughter-in-law, also his erstwhile employee. The crime was committed four years ago when 22-year-old Sparkle was stabbed to death shortly after her wedding at her apartment in Union City.

Reportedly, she was living there with her husband, Ricky aka Rajeev Rai and seven-month-old daughter. Her body was discovered by her husband when he returned from work. Their daughter, Analla, unharmed, was in the house; a fact that by itself can rouse the most apathetic conscience.

Sparkle, it is rumored, was led to believe by her husband that her in-laws were dead. In an aside, her husband, Rai junior is married now to an Indian woman and has not been available for comments to the media.

The case has come to light today because of a woman convicted on a drug charge owning up to being a witness in the case. The Prosecution's case suggests that the Sparkle's killer had been offered $10,000 by Rai. Sparkle was allegedly killed by an ex-con, Cleveland Clark, now serving term in an unrelated crime at a Mississippi prison, at the behest of the enraged father-in-law.

Meanwhile, Chiman Rai who is in the Fulton County Jail at present is being seen as an orthodox Indian who considered it a taboo for his son to wed outside his community, especially a black girl. His defense, however, reportedly is pleading innocence. Their argument is endorsed by some of his associates and friends who are said to believe him. Several people including his former acquaintances (he taught at Alcorn State University, a historically black college) reportedly find it difficult to accept that Rai could be behind a racial crime. He is said to have been a good teacher with no racial bias whatsoever.

Worse than the gruesome facts of the case itself are the hues of racial defilement that mar the perception of a certain segment of the Indian immigration group now. Of course, this kind of an episode reflects poorly on a generally well-loved and admired Diaspora community, but more importantly it pre-empts preconceived notions regarding the community, not all of which will now be favourable.

Equally, today an aggrieved group of Indian-Americans are watching from behind the lines, the unfolding of this melodramatic saga with unreserved sympathy for the blameless Sparkle and are aggressively rooting for requisite punishment to be doled out to those responsible for the reprehensible murder.

In the ambit, If Chiman Rai is found guilty beyond reasonable doubt and convicted by the court of Law; most certainly he will incur the wrath of the Indian-American entity. This incidentally, is not his first brush with the Law; he was sentenced to five years of probation for trafficking in food stamps earlier. It is being reported numerously that Chiman Rai could even face the death penalty if he is convicted of this crime.

As of now, each day brings to light facts and figures that are more indicative than revealing. Till the verdict is out and the final blow dealt, one can only hope that justice gets served swiftly and leads to a lesson well learnt.

For, at the circumference of the case is an equally pertinent crime that most definitely has been committed; the apathy and grisly insensitivity of Rajeev Rai, the husband who has disowned his (now) 7-year-old daughter, re-married in deceit (his second wife or her family were not aware of his past) and will still escape unharmed any which way the dice rolls."

MediaTakeOut.com told you a few weeks ago that Sean "Diddy" C****s is having a specially made ring for his girlfriend R&B singer Cassie. Well now Diddy is talking openly about getting married. The 38 year old bachelor has up until now told reporters that he was not ready to get married.

But for the first time, in a recent interview, MediaTakeOut.com has learned that he's giving a different response.

Here is what he told a UK magazine when asked whether he was ready to settle down:
I definitely want to get married. Ive already chosen the church: St. Patricks Cathedral on Fifth Avenue (in New York).

I want to have more kids, too - I want to have 10 in all.

Maybe that wedding is coming sooner than we all think....
A 15-STONE seven-year-old boy fed on bread and lard has been taken away from his parents by worried social workers.

The unnamed child has been taken into care and hospitalised where he is undergoing a special weight-reduction programme monitored by doctors.

Kill

They say he has been overweight since he was one, plagued by breathing and heart complications which could kill him if left untreated.

His parents are said to have ignored doctors' advice over treatment for a hormonal problem and warnings over his diet of bread and lard for every meal.

A spokesman for the Child Protection Agency in Romania said the boy, who has only been identified as being from a village in Botosani county, eastern Romania, said: "The child can be healthy again following treatment."

Authorities said the childs mum disappeared after he went into hospital and had abandoned five of her other children in the past.

A HEARTLESS father has refused to give a *lo** sample that could be the key to turning around his disabled daughters life.

Michael Emerson left little Lili-Sue and her mum Sophie Daws when their child was six months old.

Now seven, she suffers a range of conditions which may be caused by a faulty chromosome.

But Sophie, of Croydon, South London, said: "They cant do anything or look into it or help her without both my and Michaels *lo** samples.

But hes not doing anything. No one can help her until he gives *lo**."

Lili-Sue has epilepsy, poor muscle tone, a mouth palsy that prevents her from eating properly and learning disabilities.

The Sun tracked down security guard Emerson, 30, in Bristol.

He said: "I went to the doctor and they told me a *lo** test wouldnt help."
