KINGSTON, Jamaica (Map, News) - Police say three patrolmen were injured during a shootout with a fugitive holed up inside reggae singer Luciano's home.

A police statement says the hourlong standoff ended with the gunman, Andrew Senior, being killed at the Grammy-nominated singer's estate in the capital, Kingston.

Two of the officers were in critical condition after Wednesday's shooting.

Police say the Rastafarian singer, whose real name is Jepther McClymont, was questioned but has not been charged with harboring a fugitive. Senior was a suspect in several killings.

The 44-year-old Luciano is best known for the songs "Lord Give Me Strength" and "It's Me Again, Jah." His 2001 release, "A New Day," earned a Grammy nomination for best reggae album.

JOHANNESBURG Three men accused of murdering the South African reggae star Lucky Dube were found guilty here on Tuesday, just hours after two of them tried to bolt from custody on the way back to their trial.

Mr. Dube (pronounced doo-bay) was an internationally famous musician, and his murder during a botched carjacking in October 2007 once again brought the appalling rate of violent crime in South Africa to the worlds attention.

A recording artist with a strong social conscience, Mr. Dube, 43, had worked with Peter Gabriel, Sinead OConnor and other Western artists. He often sang about the evils of crime, of houses broken into and bullets fired, wanting criminals to see their misdeeds through the eyes of their victims. He was killed while dropping off his two teenage children at his brothers house in Rosettenville, near downtown Johannesburg.

Mr. Dube left behind a wife and seven children. After Tuesdays verdict was read, his wife was too emotional to talk with reporters, but his son Thokozani, who had witnessed the crime, said, We can now have closure.

More than a dozen armed officers oversaw the proceedings after two of the defendants earlier tried to escape while guards transferred them from a truck to the courtroom basement. One prisoner hit a policeman in the face with a brick, according to a police captain quoted in a local news account of the episode. Warning shots were then fired, and the defendants were subdued in a scuffle. They arrived in court with their heads bandaged.

The three convicted men, Sfiso Mhlanga, Mbuti Mabe and Julius Gxowa, will be sentenced after a hearing where mitigating evidence can be presented. The death penalty has been banned in South Africa, though the Dube case has been cited by those who want its return.

The nations homicide rate, while declining, is among the worst. In 2006, it was about eight times more than the United States and 20 times higher than Western Europes, according to Antony Altbeker, a criminologist. Electrified barbed wire surrounds many of the finest homes in Johannesburg. South Africa exceeds international norms in its number of police officers, and by some estimates there are more than four times as many private security guards as police officers, with most companies promising their clients armed response.

Criminologists have long puzzled over not only the nations high crime rate but also the unusual amount of homicide and torture that accompanies burglaries and carjackings.

Mr. Dube had been driving a late-model Chrysler luxury sedan. According to the trial testimony of Mpho Maruping, who knew the accused men, they had been looking for just such an automobile the day of the crime.

The three men did not realize that they had killed someone both famous and widely beloved until they read the newspapers the next day. They had thought their victim was a Nigerian, Ms. Maruping said.

On Sunday night at Atlantas Philips Arena, Ludacris announced that Lil Scrappy has joined his Disturbing Tha Peace label. And Scrappy wont be alone; hell be bringing his own artists.

Jeff Dixon, co-CEO of DTP, said he and his family hope to make Scrappy into the next Luda meaning hell be successful artistically and business-wise.

"Were just excited to sign him because hes been in the game for a long time and he never got the shot he needed to get," Dixon said. "He has exciting music. He brings another dynamic to our label. Were adding another dimension."

Dixon told us Scrappys next album, on which Ludacris will serve as a co-executive producer, should be out sometime in September. This summer, Scrappy could be featured on a probable DTP tour. Until then, Scrap will be dropping mixtapes, appearing on albums from Luda and DTP label mate Willy Northpole and shooting a film.

On Sunday night, Ludacris and T.I. were special guests at Young Jeezys show. Shortly after being introduced to the crowd, Cris brought out Scrappy and revealed to the crowd that his newest signees deal had been inked a week before. Scrappy performed his own mini-set as well.

The last time Scrappy dropped an album was in late 2007, when he released his Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live under Lil Jons imprint. That project was originally announced as a joint venture between Jon and 50 Cents G-Unit but was delayed a few times and never really took off despite a club hit, "Money in the Bank." Scrappy was introduced to the world in 2004 with the King of Crunk & the BME Recordings Present Lil Scrappy. That project was shared with Jons other group at the time, Trillville.

According to the area two police, the suspect was held during a raid in Breadnut Hill in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Saturday morning

He was reportedly found hiding in a storage room on the premises.

The motor car which was allegedly used in the murder was also found.

On March 17, Johnson was sweeping his yard in the company of a friend about 11:15 a.m., when a grey car drove up. An argument developed between Johnson's friend and one of the men in the car.

Hearse kills mourner at burial

April 14, 2009
Started By STUWY770 Comments

What should have been a simple funeral procession along the Barbary Hall main road, St Elizabeth, last Saturday has left the Constantine family of Watchwell district in that parish swimming in an ocean of sorrowful tears.

In a quick and tragic turn of events, 25-year-old Richard Constantine, who was a member of the funeral procession, was killed by the hearse that was transporting the body of his deceased friend, Lester Crow.

Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, Gregory Constantine, Richard's brother, painfully recalled the heartbreaking afternoon that has left the family distraught.

Music in a truck

"We were making our way to the graveside. There was a band playing music in a truck, there were the bikers behind that truck and then there was the hearse," Gregory said. "The rain had stopped so we stopped the truck to remove the tarpaulin so people could hear the music from the band better."

Gregory added that, as the tarpaulin was being removed, the driver from the hearse came out to ask what was the problem.

"So, we told him that we were only removing the tarpaulin and then he went back inside the car," Gregory said. "It look like he left the car in 'drive' or something because as soon as he went back in the car it jumped off and ran over everybody before hitting in the back of the truck."

Gregory said his brother, who was one of the bikers that was hit by the hearse, was stuck under the vehicle. He continued that the hearse driver fled the scene, fearing that he would be harmed.

Richard was taken to the Black River Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning. The other persons are said to have escaped the freak accident with non-life threatening injuries.

"Right now the family just a try keep strong because it rough," Gregory said. "We really have to hold it together."

Tearful disbelief

Another person who was injured in the accident, giving her name only as Wendy, said the experience has left her in shock and in tearful disbelief. She said she was travelling on Richard's bike initially. However, after the vehicles stopped and the tarpaulin was being removed, she jokingly decided to hop onto another bike that was further up front.

"Less than a minute later the accident take place," Wendy said. "All of us were hit to the ground, but I was now further up front. Even when I spoke with Richard before he died he was saying I was lucky that I came off his bike because I would have probably died."

Police reports said about 5 p.m. Constantine was driving a Honda motorcycle in a funeral procession along the Barbary Hall main road. On reaching a section of the roadway, a truck in the procession stopped and Constantine and two other motorcyclists stopped behind the truck. The hearse, which was behind the motorcycles, suddenly moved off, hitting the three motorcycles against the truck, pinning the drivers and pillion riders. They were taken to the Black River Hospital where they were admitted. Constantine died about 10 o'clock on Sunday morning.

The Santa Cruz Police have since charged the hearse driver with manslaughter. He is to appear in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court today.

So, maybe its because Cassies super cute and doesnt have a lumpy head, but I think this haircut looks great on her. Of course its some kind of attention call, obviously, but thats okay. She took a risk and pulled it off a lot better than a lot of other people could. But Im sure shes still going to hear tons of crap for it

What do you think about her new look?

Sizzla Kalonji and the Fire House Band would like to apologize to the fans in Canada for the show cancellation at Paramount Concert Theatre. Although there are numerous allegations as to why the show was cancelled, the reason was time inefficiency and late entry of the paperwork to the Canadian Embassy in Jamaica. Sizzla was approved by authorities in Canada to perform.
There was no involvement of any form of contract or agreement to determine the acquisition of the visa in Kingston. At this point in Sizzlas career, he is moving forward with total positivity, unity, and urges all to stop the violence. Under the circumstance, we insure that Canadian fans will get to see Sizzla perform in the near future.
In the meantime, join us Friday, April 17th as he celebrates his 33rd birthday at Judgment Yard, 40 August Town Rd in Kingston, Jamaica. During the day, there will be a kids fun day and in the evening the Birthday Party featuring King Taffari, Fresh International and Rebel T.

Children's music is dominating Ziggy Marley's melody making these days -- both for himself and on behalf of his father, Bob Marley.

His new album, "Family Time" (May 5 on Tuff Gong Worldwide), is a collection of what he refers to as "family music." Tracks include originals as well as covers of Woody Guthrie's "This Train" and the Jamaican children's standard "Hold Em Joe," along with two spoken-word pieces by actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

Other guests include Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Toots Hibbert and his mother, Rita Marley, and sister Cedella Marley. His 3-year-old daughter, Judah, who Marley calls his "muse" on the album, appears on the title track.

He'll follow "Family Time" with the June release of a set of Bob Marley song's, revised and remastered with a children's audience in mind.

"I never really thought about doing music for children before," said Marley, who's donating proceeds from "Family Time" to the Chepstowe Basic School in Port Antonio, Jamaica. "I kind of realized why I'm being led into this world of family/children's music is because we have to speak to the children now. The children have the open-mindedness. They're going to grow up and make the world a better place, so it's them we have to have some kind of discussion with.

"So this is what this record is about, really, is the beginning of a discussion with children and families to make the future a better place for ... the world family. But it starts with our own families."

Marley hopes to continue that dialogue with the Bob Marley album, for which he took the original masters of eight classic songs and revised the instrumentation and arrangements, even using some of his father's alternate vocal tracks.

"It's a very different vibe," Marley told Billboard.com, "but still real Bob. It's not like fake Bob. ... It's Bob singing and I'm playing, like an acoustic session almost. Anything I did on this record is soulful and musical. There's no gimmicks. I'm keeping true to the spirit of my father, to the spirit of his music."

Marley, who left the sibling group the Melody Makers to go solo in 2002, will be on the road this spring and summer with American band 311 but hopes to "double up" and play special children's and family shows during the tour. He also predicts a reunion of the Melody Makers in the near future, adding that no details have yet been worked out.

The local entertainment fraternity is bracing for a cosmic realignment with rumours racing around the corporate area that Beenie Man is contemplating a return to Shocking Vibes camp and its charismatic manager Patrick Roberts. In March sources close to Beenie Mans camp said that while he was in New York recently, the entertainer meet with a number of prospective music managers as he has seen the need to tighten up his financial affairs by hiring a business manager.
However, since return to Jamaica last week, tongues have been wagging that he may just return to Shocking Vibes, the label he help to make famous. When contacted this week shocking vibes chief executive officer, Patrick Roberts attacked with surprise to the rumour that Beenie Man was seeking a manager, blurting out. Thats news to me! Beenie Man cannot be seeking a new manager when he has me available, Patrick Roberts said. Since Beenie Man left I have not manage any other artiste. If he wants to return to Shocking Vibes, I am willing and ready. Beenie Man will always be my artiste regardless of things that were said. Thaere is a synergy between Beenie Man and Shocking Vibes led by Patrick Roberts.
Roberts a successful business man and producer, was the architect behind the successful careers of Beenie Man, Tantro Metro & Devonte and Sliver Cat for 20 years. He has also dabbled in politics, running on the PNP ballot twice against the Jamaica Labour Partys Andrew Holness, the last time in 2007 general elections for the West Central St. Andrew he is currently the constituency care taker. if Beenie Man wants a proper manager, he needs to come back to Shocking Vibes.. I am hoping for it Robert said. Roberts is also the president of former premier league champions Arnett Gardens Football Club, and stood surety for embattled politician Kem Spenser, who is facing serious charges for impropriety in the Cuban light-bulb scandal.
Efforts to get a comment from Beenie Man proved futile as it was said that he had lost the phone. XtraNews was unable to get in touch with Beenie Mans bother and manager, Blue, who failed to return several calls to his mobile phone. The music industry was hit by the earth-shaking announcement in December 2006 that Beenie Man was leaving Hocking Vibes, a move that signaled a big shift in balance of power equation in the dancehall universe. beenie Man is going is going to do his own thing as of January 1, 2007, his wife DAngel said in a release at the time.
At the time, Patrick Roberts, Beenie Mans manager for over two decades, had appeared a bit disturbed by the whole situation when contacted but nevertheless issued an upbeat statement. We wish him all the best, if he wants to leave, he is his owna big man, he is married now, he can do anything he wants to do. We just wish him all the best, Mr. Roberts told the reporter at the time.

50 Cent digs Lil Wayne, but he cant help but notice the similarities between Weezys summer smash Lollipop and his own 2005 hit Candy Shop. Lollipop is lick lick lick lick it like a lollipop, 50 told Rolling Stone, singing the verse to prove his point. And Candy Shop is Ill take you to the Candy Shop/ Ill let you lick the lollipop.

Rip-off or not, 50 is no longer spinning Waynes track or any other rappers, for that matter. Im not really listening to anyone elses records, he says, adding that his new album, Before I Self-Destruct, will drop by the end of the year. Now Im in another space where I gotta make what Im excited about.

50 is mum on the details of his new disc the last on his contract with Interscope Records but he promises to shake things up. [Other rappers] can take what Ive done for the last five years and do their version of it and be successful with momentum, he says. Meanwhile, I have to reinvent the wheel.

Dancehall's man of bling, Elephant Man (centre), shares a joke with Safia Cooper (left) and Garth Walker at RTI in Negril in 2007. - File

There will be no Red Stripe Temptation Island (RTI) or Appleton Treasure Isle (ATI) this summer. Instead, patrons can expect the perfect 'Negril Dream Weekend' as both parties have been c****ined.

This Independence weekend, from Thursday, August 6, to Sunday, August 9, persons can purchase one arm band that will get them into six all-inclusive events. These are: Daydreams - the ultimate daytime beach party; Twisted Spirits - the 32 mixed drinks inclusive event; Xtreme Wet and Wild at the Kool Runnings Waterpark; Yush - Negril's true '90s throwback party; Wildsides, which is the oldest Negril weekend event; and The Concert, which features international and local artistes and celebrities.

Kamal Bankay of Dream Team, organisers of Negril Dream Weekend, told THE WEEKEND STAR: "what's really happening is that the strongest events in Negril have come together to make one band where the strongest will survive. So, the so-called RTI band and ATI band that we're used to for the last two years is now one band."

 STARLEFT_1_PTDQUPartyH2AM.jpg
Kamal Bankay - File

Dream Team consists of Yohan Hendricks, promoter of Wildsides; P.J. Wright of Daydreams; Philip Palmer of Yush; Bankay and Matthew Samuda of Xtreme Wet and Wild; Ron Burke of Twisted Spirits, among others. According to Bankay, "the plan for this event is five years where we plan to tap into external promoters, outside tour groups, good capital expansion and more. The goal is getting the right type of sponsorships and then, the sky is the limit."

At present, there is no title sponsor, but Bankay said Dream Team is in the process of contacting companies and the title sponsor will be announced at a later date. Rival liquor companies, Red Stripe and J. Wray and Nephew, which have sponsored the event in the past, are expected to be the leading candidates.

As for the price of the weekend band, Bankay said they are aiming to make it affordable.

SPLIT

The Independence weekend partying started in 2001 with ATI but was split into two events in 2006 when Absolute Entertainment and Appleton parted ways - the result was Appleton Treasure Isle and Absolute Temptation Island. In 2007, Red Stripe sponsored Absolute's event and renamed it RTI.

Bankay said patrons will appreciate the merging of the two events this year.

"Persons will have it a lot easier this weekend, without having to decide which band to choose and which parties to go to. The parties will show a heighten level of organisation and expect Negril to be the most fun you'll have," he said. "You'll be dazzled and astounded and know that it was money well spent and if you save your money and choose this party for the year, it will be where you will have the most fun."

The Independence weekend usually sees a mass migration of persons to Negril, which results in a huge boost in earnings for business people in the area operating hotels, restaurants and car and bike rental. According to Bankay, last year was the largest turnout with an estimated 10,000-15,000 persons attending RTI and ATI.

BILL ORIELLY CRITICISING EMINEM

April 13, 2009
Started By Gamepun6 Comments

Controversial television host Bill OReilly has lashed out at Eminem for his Sarah Palin parody from his new music video, claiming his jokes were "totally obscene."

Along with citing his problems with Em, he also expressed his disappointment with various liberal media outlets for not addressing the Palin spoof.

"Few Americans take the vile rapper Eminem seriously," OReilly declared. "He represents the lowest form of entertainment in this country and is a publicity hound to boot. His attack on Sarah Palin, which is very crude, seems to be okay with the mediaHes just a, Im not even gonna do thatIts so crude what he does, kids see it, not adults. Nobody over 25 goes into this stuffEminem is obviously on an obscene rant about Sarah Palin, totally obscene, totally inappropriate, nothing good about it. Not a word from Media Matters, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, NBC News, any of the big media, nothing."

Ems video premiered Tuesday (April 7) morning featuring a variety of celebrity cameo spoofs.

Slim Shady promised he was up to his old tricks in the video for "We Made You," his first solo clip since 2005. Debuted exclusively on MTVs "AMTV" this morning and directed by Joseph Kahn, Em does his best preening Bret Michaels, dangling a rose with a backstage pass on it in front of a line of rock star wannabes that includes impersonators of Sarah Palin (Lisa Ann), Samantha Ronson, Lindsay Lohan and a dentally challenged Amy Winehouse. Dr. Dre and 50 Cent make cameos in a casino scene alongside Em.

OReilly and comedian Dennis Miller previously made a rant over Jay-Z and Young Jeezy for their pro-Barack Obama performance of "My President Is Black" on Inauguration Night 2008.

""I dont give a flying bleep what these two guys think," Miller said. "I thought it was a beautiful day yesterday. If they couldnt ratchet down the hate for a day, then thats their problem not mine. And by the way, youre looking at an obsolete model there because if the dinosaurs were done in by the asteroids, role models in the black community like that are about to be done in by a shooting star named Barack Obama."

OReilly originally played a segment of what the duo said at a local nightclub which stirred media attention.

oh really orielly?????

"I wanna thank two people," Jeezy told the crowd. "I wanna thank the motherf*ckers overseas that threw two shoes at George Bush. And I want to thank the motherf*ckers who helped them move their sh*t up out of the White House. Keep it moving b*tch because my president is motherf*cking black."

Blessed love. With the latest mainstream-media focus on pirates in Somalia, what many people don't know is that Somalia has had toxic waste dumped on their shores for years by European firms , causing untold devastation and countless illnesses and deaths. Without any protection or help, locals had no choice but to take matters into their own hands by forming their own 'sea-patrol' to hijack suspected vessels. Now the problem has escalated to robbery etc., yet their is a deeper issue at hand, which is usually ignored.

Fire-burning dancehall singjay Sizzla was due to perform live this coming Sunday, April 12, at the Paramount Concert Theatre in Woodbridge, Ontario, however the show has reportedly been cancelled, as Sizzla has refused to sign a document stating that he will not spout anti-gay lyrics at the show. As a result of his refusal to sign the document, Sizzla and his management team were reportedly denied visas when they went to the Canadian Embassy here in Kingston earlier this week.

Masturbation and Prostate Cancer Risk evileyeevileyeevileyeevileyeevileye
were surprising. Sexual intercourse did not affect prostate cancer risk. But frequent masturbation did -- in different ways, at different times of life.

"Frequent masturbation during men's 20s and 30s increased their risk of prostate cancer," Dimitropoulou tells WebMD. "But men in their 50s who masturbated frequently had decreased risk."

Of course, masturbation frequency is relative.

For men in their 20s, "frequent masturbation" was two to seven times per week. Compared to same-age men who reported masturbating less than once per month, 20-something frequent masturbators had a 79% higher risk of prostate cancer by age 60.

For men in their 50s, "frequent masturbation" was one or more times per week. Compared to same-age men who reported never masturbating, 50-something frequent masturbators had a 70% lower risk of prostate cancer.

What's going on? The study wasn't designed to answer that question. But Dimitropoulou and colleagues have some theories.

They suggest that young men genetically predisposed to have hormone-sensitive prostate cancer will be at higher risk if their bodies naturally produce high levels of male hormones -- the same hormones that give them an intense sex drive.

So it's not masturbation itself that's increasing prostate cancer risk in young men. More masturbation may just mean more sex drive -- and more androgens bathing prostate tissues.

That's not the case for older men. Dimitropoulou suggests that in older men, masturbation itself may actually be helpful, ridding the prostate gland of fluids that may contain cancer-causing substances.

"In mature age, it may be more important that toxins get flushed out of the system," she says. "And because the masturbation frequency was not as high in the men's 50s as it was in their 20s, even low levels of masturbation in the 50s has a protective effect."

These are just theories, Dimitropoulou warns. More research is needed to determine the exact role of sex hormones and sexual activity in prostate-cancer risk at different stages of life.

Meanwhile, Dimitropoulou, now at England's University of Cambridge, advises moderation for both younger and older men.

"It is kind of logical that a moderate level of masturbatory activity has to be maintained," she says. "Not too much, and not none at all."

Dimitropoulou and colleagues report their findings in the January issue of BJU International.

Elly Ess' remake of the international hit "Bad Boys" has drawn two of the biggest names in Dancehall and Hip Hop, Diplomat CEO, Jim Jones and Portmore Empire's Vybz Kartel. The song was originally released in 1987 by reggae group, Inner Circle and brought to the world stage by popular TV program, COPS.

The title says it all, but let me break it down anyway. Rude bwoy listen, if dem comin Im dippin, mi nah mek dem ketch mi slippin. These are the words of new Dancehall/Hip Hop sensation, Elly Ess, and it wont be long before were all singing along to this catchy tune. Vybz Kartel adds his usual edge to the song and proves why he has been named Lyricist of the Year, rise like inflation, through any situation. And it is some how refreshing to hear international superstar, Jim Jones, speaking about Clarendon.

Its pretty simple, this collaboration works. Not many artists can sit on a track with di teacha Vybz Kartel and Jim Jones and still manage to shine but Elly Ess does. Elly Ess is definitely one to listen out for in the future and I have a feeling this is definitely not the last well here from this Bad Boy.

It involves a shocking allegation involving a popular hip hop artist who was in town for a CD signing.

Lexington Police are now searching for Flo Ridas tour bus in several states on allegations of animal cruelty.

It is after an incident that reportedly happened Wednesday afternoon on Nicholasville road at Jesselin Drive.

According to an Animal Control officer, a witness reportedly observed the tour bus stopping the location, where two men got out of the bus.

The witness told police men from the bus committed an act of cruelty to an animal.

Police have said the animal was a rabbit, and without being graphic, they say the witness reportedly saw the men kill it and then leave.

Immediately, Lexington Police, Kentucky State Police and Lexington Animal Control began investigating the incident.

Then police put out an attempt to locate for the tour bus, which we are told was heading to Columbus, Ohio. The animal control officer says at this point they just want to question the people on the bus.

Its still unclear if Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, had anything to do with this alleged incident.

AT FIRST GLANCE, the Web site SeekingArrangement.com seems like any other dating site. Most of the men are looking for fit, sexy women, and most of the women want nice guys who can make them smile and laugh. But if eHarmony or Match.com is a chatty social mixer, Seeking Arrangement is a down-and-dirty marketplace where older moneyed men and cute young women engage in brutally frank transactions.

Theres the 18-year-old from France asking for $5,000 to $10,000 a month from a mentor who can provide me with the finer things in life and keep me happy! And the 49-year-old investor from upstate New York willing to pay $5,000 a month for a daytime playmate for intense connection without commitment. Critics say the site is at best a convenience store for adulterers and at worst a virtual brothel, but Brandon Wade, Seeking Arrangements 38-year-old founder and chief executive, is unperturbed by the criticism. We stress relationships that are mutually beneficial, he says. We ask people to really think about what they want in a relationship and what they have to offer. That kind of upfront honesty is a good basis for any relationship.

Gregory Kopiloff, 35, pleaded guilty in November to federal charges of mail fraud, accessing a protected computer without authorization to further fraud, and aggravated identity theft. At sentencing U.S. District Judge James L. Robart called Kopiloff "a highwayman in the virtual world," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release. Although people have been prosecuted for using networks to illegally share copyrighted music, movies and software, the Justice Department called Kopiloff's prosecution its first case against someone accused of using file-sharing to commit identity theft. Using the file-sharing programs, Kopiloff searched people's computers for personal financial documents, such as federal income tax returns, student financial aid applications, and credit reports. In many cases, prosecutors said, Kopiloff's victims were unaware their children had installed the software on home computers. "Kopiloff's techniques were not 'run of the mill' identity theft," Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn Warma wrote. She described his techniques as "particularly pernicious and devious." Kopiloff's attorney, Jennifer Wellman, argued for three years in prison, saying her client regretted his actions and had turned to identity theft to support his drug and gambling addictions.

Lil Kim for mayor?

April 12, 2009
Started By SLICE BREAD5 Comments
Allegedly, Lil Kim is planning to run for mayor of Hoboken NJ. New Yorks ultra-accurate news radio station 1010 WINS have reported that it's possible as Kim is considering it. But that's not the whole story!!!

Reportedly Lil Kims people reached out the NY Post and according to them, Lil Kim aint running for nothing!!!

In a new song called "Breath Easy," The Game has a line that's got people saying that he's going at his former mentor! "Ask Dre who the next n***ga, if he don't say the Don, I'ma have to DMX n***as/ bark on 'em/ Let the .38 spark on 'em / Let him take his last breath, then put the chalk on 'em." There is no way...no way...no way all that is for Dr. Dre. If it is, I will say that The Game is certified loony and I would fear for my life even being near him. Haha! Anyway, he's got an explanation and that I know, because I know there is no way that Game would diss Dre. But, what if he was dissing Dre? What's going to happen? Dre was dead against The Game dissing 50 Cent, but this could change things. All I can hope is that they talk and clear it up. (You know, that really reads like a diss -- LMCBAO!) DOWNLOAD

Police found a five-gallon gas container on the grounds of a mansion at the center of a dispute between 50 Cent and his ex-girlfriend.

On early Friday morning, a fire ripped through the $2.4 million dollar Dix Hills, Long Island mansion, sending 6 people, including Tompkins and the superstar rappers 10-year-old son, to the hospital.

While arson investigators have yet-to-determine the cause of the inferno that completely destroyed the mansion, officials had already labeled the fire suspicious, due to the intensity of the blaze, which lasted about 45 minutes.

Tompkins, who accused 50 Cent of having a role in the incident, also accused the rapper of not checking on his son Marquise in the incidents aftermath.

"Tell him to call his son!" Tompkins shouted at reporters yesterday when she returned to grounds of the property, where she had been living with their son, her new boyfriend and other individuals.

50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson and the boyfriend were involved in a physical confrontation in the office of Tompkins lawyer during a deposition hearing, just days before the house was destroyed.

The rapper, 32, denied any involvement in the fire and expressed gratitude that no one was serious injured in the fire.

50 Cent and Tompkins will be in Manhattan Supreme Court over ownership of the mansion on June 10

well for me it has to be snoop-ego trippin, The GAME-LAX, NAS-UNTITLED and KARTEL-the teachers back

Compton-bred rapper The Game is fed up. In a recent interview with Music Choice, The Game put his feelings on the line regarding his Sean Bell tribute, '911 is a Joke'.

The Sean Bell incident happened in 2006, when four police officers shot the unarmed Bell over fifty times, killing him. After the four officers were acquitted of all charges, The Game responded with a diss track to police entitled '911 is a Joke'.

The Game reached out to other artists and asked them to hop on the track, but all of them refused.

In the interview, The Game says "I reached out to alot of artists and I told 'em what I was gonna do for Sean Bell and alot of them just... I got a gang of excuses. Nobody wanna stand up and be a man. We don't have a problem putting out a mixtape dissing each other but the people that you say or claim to hate so much, which is, or the situation that render us helpless like police brutality, excessive force, people using the shield to really deal the wrong way with human beings, you know, like nobody wanna stand up for that except me."

Closely following his statements, The Game began to tear up and brought his interview to a close with the following ; I don't belong in this hip-hop. I belong in the like, old hip-hop. People that really didn't care about being vocal, you know. NWA and Public Enemy, people that really stood."

In related news, The Game's third studio album L.A.X. (Los Angeles Times) is set to hit stores on August 26th after numerous push-backs.
50 Cent rival The Game, recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing battle between his longtime nemesis and Rick Ross.

In an interview with Eddie Francis of Seattle radio station Kube 93, Game says that hes rolling with the G-Unit leader in this feud. For the first time in four years Im kind of like low key riding with 50 on this one, he admitted. For this first time in four years homey Im siding with this dude.[Listen Here]

Its just ridiculous, he said of the heated war between the two MCs. Hes taking your baby mama shopping. Shes trying on Fur Coats with the Stevie Wonder jam50 eating you boy.

The outspoken rapper said that he is available if the Miami Boss needs any help. Hey yo Ross, homey call me on my phone man, he pleaded. This is the first time I talked about this, but yo Rick Ross reach out to my folks and then have him call me on three way so I can get you out of this mess man.

Game called into the radio show to promote his concert on Feb. 27 in Seattles Showbox Sodo. As XXLmag.com previously reported, the date is a part of Chuck Taylors upcoming national tour, which kicks off on February 18 in Anaheim, CA.

The Game has put off his plans to retire from the rap game - hes working on his fourth studio album.

Last summer, the Dreams rapper claimed his third disc, LAX, would be his last because he wanted to spend more time with his young family. The album was released in August and debuted in the U.S. Billboard 200 at number two.

But now The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, has hinted hes making a return - by admitting hes started recording a new project, reportedly titled Global Warming. At a recent concert, the rapper allegedly told the crowd, "I love yall ; I swear to God I love yall. Im not gonna lie, Im in the studio working on my fourth album."

Rumors suggest the forthcoming release will be produced in its entirety by hit-making duo Cool & Dre.

Nas Recording Album With Damian Marley

Nas told Billboard last week he was cooking up a few surprises, and now we know one of them: an as-yet-untitled collaboration with reggae star Damian Marley.

The pair has been recording quietly in Los Angeles for the last several weeks. Nas' manager, Anthony Saleh, tells Billboard the project will most likely be released in the spring. It's not clear which label will release it; Nas is signed to Def Jam, while Marley records for Universal.

"We've been recording in a studio, where people like Mick Jagger are recording. No one knew who we were," Saleh says. "We're going to Miami this week to finish it up and we're aiming to tour for the album this summer."

In addition to its regular incarnation, the album may also be released in a special edition exclusively through Best Buy or Target. A portion of the proceeds will go toward building a school in Africa, though details are still being solidified.

As previously reported, Nas guests on a song on Dr. Dre's long-in-the-works "Detox" album, due sometime this year. He was nominated for two Grammys at Sunday's 51st annual awards but lost in both the best rap solo performance and best rap album categories.

Billboard

nas_l.jpgA representative for Def Jam has confirmed to EW.com that hip-hop artist Nas has made an eleventh-hour decision to change the title of his new album from N----- to simply Nas. The Queens rapper sparked a heated debate last fall when he announced the provocative title for his upcoming ninth record, but last October, Island Def Jam Music Group chair Antonio "L.A." Reid publicly denied widespread reports that label execs were uncomfortable with his decision. "We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure," Reid told MTV News at the time. "Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him."

But in an interview with MTV News last week, Nas suggested that he was facing renewed pressure: "Everybody is trying to stop the title.... Record stores are gonna have a problem in this day and time selling a record with that title. Who knows what's gonna turn out and be on that title? Who knows what that title will be?" The politically-charged Nas is due in stores July 1. For more of Nas' thoughts on his new music, check EW's summer music preview coverage in print on Friday.

UPDATE: In a statement, Nas clarified that he considers his new album untitled, adding: It's important to me that this album gets to the fans. It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. I just didn't want an album title to be the sticking point that holds up this record or blocks it in any way. It's that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."

Nas.jpg Queensbridge rapper has just released a new song titled "Be A Nigger Too," a track from his highly anticipated album, Nigger.

The single "Be A Nigger Too" is the first official release from Nas album, which has drawn intense scrutiny due to the albums simple, yet controversial title.

The lyrics on "Be A Nigger Too" gives listeners a glimpse into the direction Nas album may take.

On the track, which was produced by Salaam Remi and Big Jack, Nas makes his stance on the N-word clear through his lyrics and a slowed down delivery.

"The real Niggers are back on the radio," Nas says, before launching into his verse.

"Not mad cause Eminem said Nigger/Cause hes my Nigger/Wigger/Cracker friend/We all black within/ We all African within/Some Africans dont like us no way/A killin happened in Johannesburg yesterday.

In a song that could be a lighting rod for controversy, Nas references the tragic murder of reggae star Lucky Dube in Johannesburg in October of 2007 and in the same line, name checks the NAACP.

The hook for the song is a play on Dr. Peppers famous "Wouldnt You Like to Be a Pepper Too" advertising slogan.

"Im a Nigger/Hes a Nigger/shes a Nigger /wes some Niggers/wouldnt you like to be a Nigger too," Nas raps.

On the rest of the chorus, Nas name checks Jews (Kike Niggers), Hispanics (Spic Niggers), Italians (Guinea Niggers) and Asians (Chink Niggers), by using their respective racial epitaphs and embraces them as his Niggers.

They like to strangle Niggers/blame a Niggers/shoot a Nigger/hang a Nigger/still you wanna be a Nigger too?/True.

Nas' upcoming album Nigger is due in stores this year on Island Def Jam, a unit of Universal Music Group.

PORT ANTONIO, Portland:

The Portland police are seeking help from Cuban authorities to locate a group of Indian store operators, who allegedly fleeced local consumers of thousands of dollars last month.

A police report is suggesting that the Indian immigrants, who operated three furniture and appliance stores in Port Antonio, fled the island overnight some weeks ago with a substantial amount of money paid to them for furniture and electrical appliances in layaway and hire-purchase agreements.

The police said that their investigation has revealed that the immigrants have fled to Cuba after they allegedly collected money from more than 20 consumers.

According to the police, consumers deposited as much as $10,000 as first-time deposits as part of layaway agreements on various items, including televisions, laptops, desk computers, fridges, sofas, component sets, beds, stoves and washing machines.

According to the lawmen, some consumers had already paid as much as $40,000 on some items, and were in the process of closing their accounts.

The police explained that layaway payment stipulates that all accounts are to be settled after three months following the first deposit, but some customers who turned up to make final payments found the doors to the stores padlocked and chained.

The authorities went on to explain that the matter was only reported to them after the store remained closed for more than a week, giving the operators time to escape.

The police say receipts received from consumers have indicated that approximately $750,000 was collected by the store operators, who also owed more than three months in rent to owners of the building.

nasmarley.jpgNot related by *lo** per say but definitely related by the love of music.

A few months ago I told you guys that Nas and Marley would be doing an album together, that's right not a single but a whole album fusing the genres of Reggae, Roots, Soul, Rap and more...

Nas and Damien Marely are hard at work in the studio to bring the world the album "Distant Relatives", it should be coming out at the end of the year. Love it!!!

RR reports:

Following the success of last year's issue with Young Jeezy, Eminem graces the cover of VIBE's 2nd Annual Real Rap magazine. On stands May 19. The same date his album Relapse is due to drop. But even more interesting is an interesting contest revolving around the issue.

"VIBE Verses Presents No. 1 Stan" gives aspiring artists a chance to showcase their skills to the man himself, Marshall Mathers who will crown the finalists.

Battling is the way I came up, so its gonna be interesting to watch a rap battle unfold online, states Eminem. VIBE is taking it out of the clubs and street corners and putting it on the net. MCs better bring it, because Im watching.

"In the contests first phase, all entrants will rhyme for 60 seconds over a specially selected instrumental track and submit video clips of their performance on numberonestan.com due by April 21, 2009. VIBE will send the Top 10 finalists (determined by VIBE.com user votes) a second instrumental track to rhyme over for 60 seconds, which will then be submitted to Eminem for careful review. His personal selection of the final two will be made by May 8, 2009. Arrangements will be made for the two finalists to be flown to a VIBE event where the winner will be crowned by audience response, presented with an engraved microphone certifying them as Eminems No.1 Stan, and featured in VIBE magazine and on VIBE.com."

Aidonia Diss Kartel.. and Empire again??

The rumours ..have been intensifying about the tension between Aidonia and the Portmore Empire. There have been rumourlike reports indicating that at a show 3 weeks ago in the Bronx, New York Aidonia reportedly said that Kartel is the Devil and bare Fools and Clowns him have around him, Kartel putting these fools ahead of him and one of them sound like a robot and how Kartel thief the empire from Deva Bratt all these things. The report also indicated that Adonia was sorry he had left the Alliance camp to now be treated like this by Kartel. This is in contrast to earlier reports that Aidonia has denied dissing Kartel in a track called "Big Matic Nah Laugh" LISTEN

But bwoy ..all these conflicting reports.. so if it nuh go so ..it nearly go so

Anyway it also was reported that the news was a surprise to Kartel ..who reportedly said that he has not seen Aidonia for some 3 weeks and Aidonia can leave the Empire if he wish.. because him a him a big man and wishes him well
BUt wait.. wasn't Aidonia a member of the J.O.P ..and not empire..

I'm sure we will get more on this ..at least by the 26th
Im dont know if its this session.. he did the dis sound quality realy poor..

40005_1_468.jpg

Some very courageous female stars follow in the footsteps of Brad Pitt by agreeing to appear on the cover of a major magazine sans Photoshop, with no retouching whatsoever.
Better yet, the stars went unvarnished without any makeup.

The April 2009 issue of Elle France features the natural beauty of Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau, Eva Herzigova, Inès de la Fressange, Anne Parillaud, Karin Viard, Charlotte Rampling, and Chiara Mastroianni.

The ladies were beautifully captured by Peter Lindbergh.

I am very happy to see this and I really hope this promotion of real beauty will become a recurring trend in fashion publications.
